Objective To study the diagnosis accuracy and the treatment sequelae of adenocarcinoma of urinary bladder. Methods 41 cases of urinary bladder adenocarcinoma have been encountered from 1980 to 2000,all of them had undergone operation and the diagnosis being assessed on histopathology studies. There are 18 cases of primary bladder adenocarcinoma, among which 8 had undergone radical cystectomy and 10 partial cystectomy.Among 12 cases of urachal adenocarcinoma extending to the bladder,11 received extended resection. All the 11 patitents with metastatic focus in the bladder underwent local ablation. Results Urinary bladder adenocarcinoma comprised 3.2% of the bladder cancer.Thirty seven patients have been followed up for five months to ten years. The 1 year survival rate was 51.3%(19 cases),the 2 year survival rate 43.2%(16 cases) and the 5 year survival rate 21.6%(8 cases). Conclusions Radical total cystectomy is the treatment of choice for primary adenocarcinoma of bladder and extended partial cystectomy seems to be the best for urachal adenocarcinoma. Comprehension therapy should be undertaken for patients with metastatic adenocarcinoma or tumor recurrence so as to improve the survival rate.

Chinese Journal of Urology 1994;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the occurrence of antiandrogen withdrawal syndrome in patients with advanced prostate cancer treated with combined androgen blockade. Methods 24 cases of advanced prostate cancer (10 in stage C and 14 in stage D) were retrospectively studied. All the patients have been treated with combined androgen blockade (bilateral orchiectomy and flutamide). After initial beneficial response to hormonal therapy (duration 7 to 36 months), the disease became progressing.Flutamide was then discontinued. Serum prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels and symptoms alterations were observed. Results Following withdrawal of flutamide, 8 patients showed a decline in PSA (mean 75%).In 6 the PSA declined more than 50%. Clinical symptoms improved in 4 patients and the prostate mass became smaller in 2. The mean duration of improvement was 4.3 months. Conclusions In patients with hormone refractory prostate cancer after initial combined androgen blockade, a trial of "antiandrogen withdrawal" is a reasonable therapeutic management prior to other more toxic therapies.

Objective To study the synthesizing site, transporting mode, and storing position of essential oil in Pogostemon cablin stems and leaves. Methods Ultrathin slicing and histochemical methods were used. Results In parenchyma cells in the stem of P.cablin, dark osmiophilic material was observed in plastids and mitochondria, otherwise, some small gray vesicles were also found in cytoplasm. Some dark osmiophilic droplets were found to adhere to outer membrane of small gray vesicles, and many small gray vesicles with osmiophilic droplets gathered in outer membrane of large vacuole. In leaves,it was different case.Because palisade tissue cells were arranged closely, which had smaller volume and rich chloroplasts,so there was not large vacuole in palisade tissue cells.Plastids, mitochondria, and small vacuole were distributed in high density, but the first two organelles contained more dark osmilphilic substance than latter. Conclusion The plastid is the main synthesis site of essential oil,and the essential oil was mainly transferred by small gray vesicles into large vacuole to store in the stem.In leaves, chloroplast not only has photosynthesis, but also is the main synthesis site of essential oil,and essential oil is permeated into small vacuole to store.

Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2014;37(2):143-146
Objective To approach the design and clinical application of large anterolateral thigh flap and its effect in wound repair. Methods The flaps were designed according to the anatomical features of perforating branches in the anterolateral thigh flaps. When a flap was chipped,a thick branch or a terminal branch of original vessel was reserved, another suitable perforating branch was selected in the proximal or distal end of the flap, and then the two vessels were anastomosed to enlarge the range of blood supply. If the vessel pedicle of a flap was a musculocutaneous perforating branch, the perforating branch of anastomosis was cut at out-point of muscle. If the vessel pedicle of a flap was a intermusclar branch or a direct skin artery, the perforating branch of anastomosis was cut widely. From May 2006 to May 2012,the technique was applied in 28 patients with large skin defect of limbs. The diameters of perforating branches obtained at out-point of muscles were measured during surgery. The survival of flaps was observed after surgery and complications in donor sites were checked during follow-ups.Results There were 18 flaps whose vessel pedicle were musculocutaneous perforating branches. The branches were cut at outpoint of muscles. The diameters of these vessels were measured during surgery. They ranged from 1.3 mm to 1.8 mm with an average of 1.45 mm.All of the vessels could be anastomosed. All 28 flaps survived. All flaps survived. The areas of the flaps ranged from 22 cm × 15 cm to 42 cm × 14 cm.Artery crisis happened in 2 flaps whose vessel pedicle were musculocutaneous perforating branches. The second look operation found that the areas of artery anastomosis of perforating branches and vessel pedicles were compressed by hematoma and thrombus formed. The 2 flaps survived after the hematoma was cleared away and the vessels were reanastomosed. There were no infections. Both the donor and recipient site healed by first intention with no necrosis of flap margin. All 28 patients were followed up by 4-13 months with an average of 8 months. There were no apparent collapse deformities, muscle necrosis, declines of muscle strength and muscle hernia in the donor sites. The appearance of flaps was flat, the color was close to normal and the quality was fine. Conclusion It is a safe and effective method to repair wound surface by large anaterolateral thigh flap obtained by the modus operandi of perforating branch anastomosis.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(04):-
Expression of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)-B mRNA was measured by semi-quantitative RT-PCR in renal cortex of diabetic and control Wistar rats. The expression of PDGF-B mRNA in renal cortex of diabetic rats was 2.5-fold of normal rats, suggesting that PDGF-B seems to play a role in diabetic nephro-pathy.
