1.Necessity and feasibility of screening for colorectal cancer in China.

Incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer has increased significantly in recent years. Screening for colorectal cancer is the most effective method to decrease mortality. Colorectal adenoma is the precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer and can be detected through colonoscopy, which is the crucial in the early diagnosis and early treatment for colorectal cancer. The first step of screening is the selection of target population and the second step is colorectal examination. The selection of candidate for screening has direct effect on the efficacy of screening. The methods in common use include fecal occult blood test, questionnaire for high risk factors of colorectal cancer, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and CT virtual colonoscopy. Among those, colonoscopy is the most reliable method and widely used in the screening for colorectal cancer.

3.HPLC Determination of Galuteolin in Qingyan Buccal Tablets

Objective To establish a HPLC method for the determination of galuteolin in Qingyan buccal tablets.Methods A Phenomenex luna C18 column served as stationary phase and the mobile phase was acetonitrile-0.5 %glacial acetic acid,gradient elution with the flow rate of 1 mL?min-1.The column temperature was 25 ℃and detection wavelength was 350 nm.Results A good linearity of galuteolin was in the range of 0.077 12 ?g~0.771 2 ?g and r=0.999 6.The average recovery of galuteolin was 101.35 %and RSD=1.58 %.Conclusion This method is simple,sensitive,accurate,and will provide evidence for the determination of galuteolin in compound preparations.
4.Evaluation criteria for admittance of medical techniques class Ⅰ and management in primary hospitals

7.The treatment of diabetes mellitus complicated acute necrotizing sinusitis

Objective To investigate the treatment of diabetes mellitus complicated acute necrotizing sinusitis .Methods By way of reviewing the clinical procedures of 2 patients with diabetes mellitus complicated acute necrotizing sinusitis .Results In perioper-ative period ,by means of glycemic control ,anti-infection ,and emergency surgery to remove the necrotic tissue in nasal sinuses and open the sinuses ,one of the patients discharged from hospital after 8 days .He has been followed up for more than 4 years without recurrence ,and is still in follow-up .Due to complicating renal failure and ascites ,the another patient gave up treatment and dis-charged on the third postoperative day ,and died on the same day .Conclusion Glycemic control ,homeostasis ,surgical removal of necrotic tissue and anti-infection treatment in perioperative period as soon as possible ,is the key to a successful treatment .
8.Effect and mechanism of chitosan inhibiting vascular smooth muscle cell hyperplasia of uremia patients

Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of chitosan on vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation of uremia patients with arteriovenous fistula.Methods Primarily culturing the VSMCs of uremia patients with arteriovenous fistula and patients without uremia by explants adherent method,and taking the second generation.VSMCs from patients without uremia cultured with 20% FBS medium were non-uremia group,VSMCs of uremia patients cultured with 20% FBS medium were uremia group,VSMCs of uremia patients with 100 pg/ml chitosan were uremia+ chitosan group.The expression of α-SMA was detected by immunohistochemistry.The changes of migration and invasion of VSMCs were detected by scratches and transwell migration assays.The mRNA expressions of TLR4 and PCNA were measured by real-time PCR.VSMCs of uremia patients with arteriovenous fistula were intervened with different doses of chitosan (0,100 and 500 μg/ml),and the protein expressions of TLR4,MyD88 and NF-κB were detected by Western blotting.Results Compared with those in non-uremia group,in uremia group and uremia+chitosan group α-SMA was upregulated,migration and invasion of VSMCs were enhanced,and mRNA expressions of TLR4 and PCNA were increased (all P < 0.05).Compared with those in uremia group,the level of α-SMA was significantly decreased,the ability of migration and invasion of VSMCs were decreased,and the mRNA expressions of TLR4 and PCNA were decreased (all P < 0.05).TLR4,MyD88 and NF-κB protein expressions were reduced in concentration-dependent manner by 100 and 500 μg/ml chitosan.Conclusions (1) In vitro,chitosan decreases the ability of migration and invasion of VSMCs of uremia patients with arteriovenous fistula.(2) Chitosan inhibits the proliferation of VSMCs,which may be relevant in the decreased expressions of TLR4,MyD88 and NF-κB.
9.Identification and determination of the major constituents in traditional Chinese medicine Longdan Xiegan Pill by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS

A novel and sensitive HPLC-UV method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of twelve major compounds in Longdan Xiegan Pill.The chemical profile of the twelve compounds,including geniposidic acid (1),geniposide(2),gentiopicroside(3),liquiritin(4),crocin(5),baicalin(6),wogonoside(7),baicalein(8),glycyrrhizic acid (9),wogonin (10),oroxylin A ( 11 ) and aristolochic acid A (12),was acquired using high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector coupled with an electrospray tandem mass spectrometer (HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS).The analysis was performed on a Dikma Platisil ODS C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm,5 μm ) with a gradient solvent system of acetonitrile-0.1% aqueous formic acid.The validation was carried out and the linearities ( r > 0.9996),repeatability (RSD<1.8%),intra- and inter-day precision (RSD<1.3%),and recoveries (ranging from 96.6% to 103.4% ) were acceptable.The limits of detection (LOD) of these compounds ranged from 0.29 to 4.17 ng.Aristolochic acid A,which is the toxic ingredient,was not detected in all the batches of Longdan Xiegan Pill.Furthermore,hierarchical cluster analysis was used to evaluate the variation of the herbal prescription.The proposed method is simple,effective and suitable for the quality control of this traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) can be propagated indefinitely, while maintaining the capacity to differentiate into all cell types in the body except for the extra-embryonic tissues. This iPSC technology not only represents a new way to use individual-specific stem cells for regenerative medicine but also constitutes a novel method to obtain large numbers of disease-specific cells for biomedical research. However, the low efficiency of reprogramming and genomic integration of oncogenes and viral vectors limit the potential application of iPSCs. Chemical-induced reprogramming offers a novel approach to generating iPSCs. In this study, a new combination of small-molecule compounds (SMs) (sodium butyrate, A-83-01, CHIR99021, Y-27632) under conditions of transient folate deprivation was used to generate iPSC. It was found that transient folate deprivation combined with SMs was sufficient to permit reprogramming from mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) in the presence of transcription factors, Oct4 and Klf4, within 25 days, replacing Sox2 and c-Myc, and accelerated the generation of mouse iPSCs. The resulting cell lines resembled mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells with respect to proliferation rate, morphology, pluripotency-associated markers and gene expressions. Deprivation of folic acid, combined with treating MEFs with SMs, can improve the inducing efficiency of iPSCs and reduce their carcinogenicity and the use of exogenous reprogramming factors.
