We prepared bovine epidermal keratin (EK) antibody, which can be used as a specific marker of cholangiocarcinoma(CC) cells to be distinguished from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. The intrahepatically implanted solid tumors of FSK 7901 and FSK 7902 have the histological structures of CC and HCC, respectively. Using immunofluorescence and PAP techniques, we demonstrated that, in the solid tumors, FSK 7901 cells are definitely EK-positive, while most of the cells of FSK 7902 are EK-negative. Therefore, we considered FSK 7901 and FSK 7902 as CC and HCC, respectively. In the solid tumors of FSK 7902, few cells which are EK-positive may be those in which there are Mallory bodies or the structures are forming.

Sepsis is an inflammatory disorder syndrome caused by the infection of pathogenic microorganisms, which organ dysfunction due to the dysregulated response of the body to the infection. Sepsis is a dangerous disease with a high fatality rate. The liver, an important organ involved in human biological transformation, energy metabolism, and cytokine production. Its role in sepsis is like a "double-edged sword" because the liver acts as not only an important defense line of the body against microorganisms but also a common target of inflammatory disorders and damage, making it one of the most vulnerable organs in sepsis. The liver contributes to pathogen clearance through immune responses, but the resulting inflammatory reactions can also lead to tissue and organ damage. Sepsis liver injury is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in sepsis patients, and preventing its occurrence and promoting early recovery can partially inhibit disease progression and reduce mortality rates. However, the pathogenesis of sepsis liver injury is not yet fully understood, and there is a lack of early and effective means of diagnosis and treatment. In-depth research on its pathogenesis will provide a better understanding of its occurrence and development, further supporting the theoretical basis for the treatment of sepsis liver injury and identifying some new targets for sepsis treatment, ultimately reducing the mortality of sepsis.

Objective To design a vision-based detection method for rotated human bodies to fulfill unmanned wounded search in the rescue operation. Methods HOG (histogram of oriented gradient) which was the most successful visual feature in pedestrian detection was involved in,and the human detection in the wounded search task was realized by multi-directional detection.Furthermore, two human bodies datasets were established by imitating the views of unmanned ground vehicle (UGV)and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).Results The application to the two datasets proved the method's feasibility in UGV and UAV.Conclusion The method is robust to the in-plane rotations and out-plane rotations of human bodies, which is of vital significance to promote the efficiency of the wounded searching and rescuing.

Objective To investigate the changes of the expression of HSP90? in the liver of severely scalded rats at the early stage of stress Methods The expression levels of HSP90? in the liver of rats at different time points after severe scald were detected by Western blotting and then the expression of HSP90? in the nucleuses was observed by immunohistochemistry Results The expression of HSP90? significantly increased in the liver of rats after severe scald, especially during 12~48 h Abnormal high expression of HSP90? in the nucleuses around was found at 48 h after scald Conclusion The abnormal high expression of HSP90? due to severe scald may be one of the important causes resulting in the disorder of glucocorticoid receptor at the early stage of stress after severe trauma.

Objective To improve diagnose and therapy of post-traumatic acute renal failure induced by rhabdomyolysis. Methods A total of 20 patients with post-traumatic acute renal failure induced by rhabdomyolysis were analyzed retrospectively in aspects of clinical manifestation, laboratory examination and treatment. Of all, there were 9 patients treated with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), while the other 11 were set as control, receiving no CRRT. Results After treatment with CRRT, 7 patients obtained clinical curing, with 2 deaths. As for control patients, there were 5 patients with secondary chronic renal insufficiency, 1 with clinical curing and 5 deaths. Conclusions Early diagnosis, CRRT, sufficient hydration, hematedialysis and supportive treatment are key points to improve the cure rate. It is important to apply CRRT for patients with renal inadequacy.

Objective To study the related factors of postpartum depression (PPD) and the effects of intervening measures to PPD incidence. Methods 1 597 pregnant women selected from our antenatal care clinic were investigated by using the hospital anxiety and depression questionnaire (HAD) during pregnancy and the Edinburgh postpartum depression scale (EPDS) after childbirth. All the enrolled women were randomlyd divided into control group and intervening group by the proportion of 1 to 2.Six intervening measures were used in the latter group. Results (1) There were 49 women whose HAD≥11 score (anxiety-depression mood)with 28 cases (57.1%) had got postpartum depression in the control group. In the intervening group, however, there were 94 women whose HAD≥11 score with 24 cases (25.5%) had got postpartum depression. There is a significant difference between the two groups ( P

Objective:To clone the RC-RNase gene and prepare its recombinant prokaryotic construct, and then to express RC-RNase protein using Escherichia coli system. Methods: RC-RNase cDNA was obtained by RT-PCR from liver of Rana catesbeiana, and cloned into pUCm-T plasmid for nucleotide sequencing. Its expression construct was prepared using the 6?His vector pRSET-A, and induced to express by IPTG in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3). Western blotting identified the expression product. Results: A 380 bp long cDNA was obtained from liver of Rana catesbeiana, restriction sites and sequence being consistent to those reported for RC-RNase. After introducing the gene into Escherichia coli and through the induction by IPTG, it was observed a new peptide at the expected position (Mr 16000) on SDS-PAGE gel. This product was proved to be the target protein via Western blotting. It existed in a form of inclusion body and its efficiency reached 12.5% of total bacterial proteins. Conclusion: RC-RNase gene was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. The protein could be used for characterizing the biological activities and function of RC-RNase.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the influence of fewer courses and prolonged intervals of chemotherapy on survival rate of advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated by sequential chemo-radiation therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). METHODS: From Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2001, 54 untreated advanced NSCLC patients (2 stage IIIa, 18 stage IIIb, 34 stage IV) were treated by sequential chemo-radiation therapy combined with TCM. The courses of chemotherapy were reduced and the intervals of chemotherapy were longer than that of the standard regimen. The efficacy and survival rate were documented and the prognostic factors were analyzed. RESULTS: Complete remission (CR) was observed in 1 case and partial remission (PR) in 20 cases. The overall objective response rate was 40.4%. Median survival was 15.3 months, 1-, 2- and 3-year survival rate were 53.7%, 28.9% and 9.6% respectively. The median survival of stage III and IV were 21.8 months and 12.5 months respectively. The 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival rates of stage III were 65.0%, 49.5%, 24.7% and that of stage IV were 47.0%, 23.3%, 0%, respectively. The quality of life was improved in most of the patients. Cox's proportional hazards regression showed that improved quality of life and treatment of TCM were the significant prognostic factors of overall survival. CONCLUSION: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy combined with TCM is beneficial to extending the interval of chemotherapy, improving the quality of life, and increasing the survival rate of advanced NSCLC patients.
