Objective:To evaluate the effects of pigment concentration on spectral reflectance of pigmented silicone elastomer.Methods: Six kinds of pigment at different concentrations was respectively added into MDX-4-4210 silicone elastomer to prepare six series of single-chroma-samples, including red, yellow, blue, brown, white and black.The pigment concentrations to base elastomer were set at 0.1, 0.2 , 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6,0.7, 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0C, respectively while other conditions were kept the same. C is the maximum pigment concentration in practical use. The target samples were also prepared. By spectrophotometer, the spectral data of the single-chroma-samples and target samples were measured.Results:With the increase of pigment concentration, the spectral reflectance of the six series of single-chroma-samples and target samples decreased.Conclusion:Increase of pigment concentration may result in decrease of spectral reflectance of single-chroma-samples and taget samples.

Objective To determine the incidence of thrombogenic events during the prostate operation period in patients discontinuing aspirin.Methods Among a retrospective cohort of 342 patients admitted in our institution for benign prostatic hyperplasia (or prostate cancer),combined with acute coronary syndrome (or stroke),we studied 4 patients who had not been taking aspirin before thrombogenic vascular event.Data on age,sex,vascular disease risk factors,and clinical outcome were collected.Results The 4 patients' mean age was 78.8±5.9 years.Each patient had at least two following risk factors:atrial fibrillation,old cerebral infarction and type 2 diabetes.80％ patients had a clinical history of hypertension.2 of the 4 patients stopped aspirin before a surgical procedure and developed acute ischemic stroke and acute myocardial infarction,separately.The other two patients developed acute ischemic stroke without aspirin prescription.The median time between admission and thrombogenic events was 15.5± 10.5 days.All patients were not given finasteride on admission.Conclusions This study should alert clinicians to know the risk of aspirin withdrawl perioperatively in patients at high risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

The effect and mechanism of mulberry leaves extracts (MLE) on glucose uptake of insulin-resistant HepG2 cells in vitro was explored. The insulin resistant models of HepG2 were induced by high concentration of insulin for 24 h. The models were incubated in a buffer containing mulberry leaves extracts. The glucose consumption was detected by glucose assay kits and the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), Akt activation was examined by Western blotting. Mulberry leaves polysaccharides, mulberry leaves flavonoids and mulberry leaves extracts advanced glucose uptake of insulin-resistant HepG2 cells; Mulberry leaves extracts enhance phosphorylation of AMPK. Mulberry leaves extracts do not change the phosphorylation status of Akt. The glucose consumptions of insulin resistant model of HepG2 were promoted by mulberry leaves extracts. MLE stimulates HepG2 cell AMPK activity acutely without changing the Akt activity.

Objective To investigate the clinical skill and experience of laparoscopic herniorrhaphy in the treatment of abdominal hernia. Methods Clinical data of 30 cases of abdominal hernia undergoing laparoscopic her-niorrhaphy in Shengjing Hospital from May 2004 to December 2008 were analyzed retrospectively. There were 23 in-guinal hernia,4 incision hernia and 3 hiatal hernia. TEP in 20 cases,TAPP in 3 cases,lPOM in 4 cases and Nissen hiatal hernia repair in 3 cases were performed. Results The mean operating duration was 72 min for TEP, 127 for TAPP,150 min for IPOM,and ]60 min for hiatal hernia repair and the mean time for hospitalization was 4.6,5.8, 7.5, and 5.3 days. No conversion to open surgery happened among these cases. No recurrence was found. Conclu-sions Laparoscopic herniorrhaphy appears to be an effective and convenient technique for the treatment of abdomi-nal hernia and has many advantages of minimally invasive surgery.

Objective To compare the efficacy and complications of Chinese Shang Ring circumcision with conventional circumcisiom Methods Clinical data of 479 cases of Chinese Shang Ring circumcision and 354 cases of conventional circumcision with complete follow-up were analyzed.Comparisons were made between the two groups on operation time,pain score,blood loss,postoperative complications,postoperative satisfaction with penile appearance,wound healing time and treatment costs. Results There was no statistical difference in age and foreskin status between the two groups (P＞0.05).For the Shang Ring group,the operation time was(5±1)rain,blood loss was (0.98±1.14)ml,pain score during operation was 0.25±0.54,24-hour pain score after operation was 1.63±0.87,the postoperative complication rate was 6.89% (33/479),wound healing time was (20±5)d,the satisfaction rate of appearance was 99.79% (478/479),and treatment cost was (871±52) yuan.For the conventional group,the operation time was (27±5) min,blood loss was (8.30±3.60)ml,pain score during operation was 3.29±1.57,24-hour pain score after operation was 5.56±1.42,the postoperative complication rate was 13.28%(47/354),wound healing time was (13±2)d,satisfaction rate of appearance was 92.37% (327/354),and treatment cost was (554±46) yuan.Compared with the conventional group,the Shang Ring group had a shorter operation time,less blood loss,less pain score,higher appearance satisfaction rate and a lower complication rate (P＜0.05).But wound healing time was longer and treatment cost was higher in the Shang Ring group (P＜0.05). Conclusions Chinese Shang Ring circumcision is simpler and an improved approach over conventional circumeision with shorter operative time,less blood loss,less pain,relatively lower complication rate and higher satisfaction and acceptability.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of catgut-embedding (CE) therapy based on respiration-induced reinforcing and reducing and electro-acupuncture (EA) therapy in treating simple obesity with spleen deficiency and dampness retention. Methods Sixty simlpe obesity patients with spleen deficiency and dampness retention were randomized into CE group and EA group, 30 cases in each group. The acupoints selected for the two groups were the same, and the points were Zhongwan, Shuifen, Qihai, Guanyuan, Tianshu, Liangmen, Daheng, Fujie, Quchi, Xuehai, Yinlingquan, Fenglong, and Ashi. CE group was given CE therapy with the needling for CE therapy referred to the respiration-induced reinforcing and reducing method, and EA group was given EA therapy for 2 continuous treatment courses, 4 weeks constituting one course. Body mass and body mass index (BMI) of the two groups before and after treatment were observed, and the clinical efficacy was also evaluated after treatment. Results (1) After treatment for 2 courses, body mass and BMI of the two groups were obviously decreased(P<0.05 compared with those before treatment), but the differences between the two groups were insignificant (P > 0.05). (2) The total effective rate of CE group was 90.0% and that of EA group was 86.7%, and the difference between the two groups was insignificant (P > 0.05). Conclusion The therapeutic effect of CE therapy based on respiration-induced reinforcing and reducing in treating simple obesity with spleen deficiency and dampness retention is similar to that of EA therapy, and the patients can choose anyone of them for loosing body weight according to the preference.

Objective To learn the management staff and funds allocation of the NRCMS in Guangxi,and come up with solution accordingly.Methods Collection of the annual report data of NRCMS in Guangxi from 2009 to 2012,and calculation of the management personnel and funds expenditure.Results The management personnel of NRCMS in Guangxi is found with a 1000-person gap between the actual staffing and approved staffing quota; the management funds rise year by year which come mostly from fiscal appropriation.Yet it accounts for less than 2.00％ and with a high rate of surplus; per-capita funds for management personnel rise significantly,along with their per-capital salaries,yet the highest fall below 25000 yuan per year per person.Conclusion Staffing quota should be fixed more rationally to ensure the number and competence of NRCMS management staff; more funds and better use of management funds are required.
