Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(06):-
Objective To observe effect mechanism of L-arginine (L-arg,a precurory substance of nitric oxide sythesis) in proveting proteinuria in adriamycin-induced nephrosis model of rats. Methods Nephrosis model of 16 rats was established by tail vein injetion with adriamycin, then the 16 rats were divided into two groups;model group and treatment group with L-arg administration (treated group),the levels of nitric oxide(NO),endothelin-1(ET-1),renal function, and pathological changes were observed in the two groups. Results The successful nephrosis model of rats was indentified with optical and electron microscope technique.Proteinuria was occurred in the two groups, but proteinuria degree in treated group was lighter than those of model group, however NO level was higher than that of model group, there was negatively correlation in the levels of NO and ET-1 between both groups, pathological alteration under electron microscope observation was obviously less in the treatment group than those of the model group. Conclusions On basis of these findings, author consider that the L-arg could reduce proteinuria output by promoting NO synthesis and suppress the ET-1 production.

Objective To evaluate the immunogenicity and immunoprotective effect of heat shock protein 60 kDa (SjHSP60) of Schistosoma japonicum in mice after immunization and challenge infection, and explore the mechanism. Methods B cell/an?tibody?related databases and analysis tools were used to predict B?cell epitopes of SjHSP60. The mice were immunized with the recombinant SjHSP60 and challenged with S. japonicum cercariae. SjHSP60?specific antibodies in serum were detected by ELI?SA. The level of splenocyte proliferation was determined by 3H?TdR incorporation. Ex vivo suppression assay was performed to in?vestigate the effects of CD4 +CD25 + regulatory T cells (Tregs) induced by SjHSP60. Results SjHSP60 possessed multiple pre?dominant regions of B?cell epitopes. SjHSP60 induced a significant increase in both SjHSP60?specific IgG levels (P < 0.01) and splenocyte proliferation (P < 0.01) with a higher IFN?γ production (P < 0.01). However, the immunization with SjHSP60 resulted no significant reduction in adult worms (P > 0.05) and liver?accumulated eggs (P > 0.05) in S. japonicum?infected mice. Ex vivo assay showed that CD4+CD25+ Tregs from SjHSP60?immunized mice enhanced immunosuppressive activity. Conclusion SjH?SP60 has a dual role in host immune system, being involved in the induction of dominant humoral and cellular immune responses as well as in the enhancement of immunosuppression.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the pH adaptability range of two yeasts from our laboratory, and applied turbidimetry and Bradford methods to examine growth of Trichosporon asahii XJU-1 and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa XJU-1.It is shown that Trichosporon asahii XJU-1 grown between pH2.0 and pH13.0 and optimum pH is 8.0,whereas Rhodotorula mucilaginosa XJU-1 grown between pH3.0 and 12.0,optimum pH is 8.5.When turbidimetry was applied,it produced consensus results between pH4.0 and 10.0 with Bradford method. At the same time, produced senior distorted at pH

Objective To establish an infectious disease field prevention and control equipment system to facilitate equipment efficacy evaluation. Methods The equipment system was determined by analyses on the main procedure of infectious disease field prevention and control, researches on the missions and equipment requirements of grades of facilities for disease prevention and control, references to related equipment allocation standards as well as expert consulting. Results The first-grade system consisted of six classes and 136 subclasses of equipment, the second-grade system was made up of six classes and 114 subclasses of equipment and the third-grade system included six classes and 58 subclasses of equipment. Conclusion The three-grade infectious disease field prevention and control equipment system contributes to equipment efficacy evaluation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the method for preventing the postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.
METHODSOne hundred and twenty patients being for laparoscopic gynecologic surgery at I- II grade as American Society of anesthesiologists (ASA) were randomly divided into three groups, 40 cases in each group. Twenty minutes before the operation, the mixture of 2. 5 mg Droperidol (1 mL) and 1 mL 0. 9% sodium chloride solution was injected into the bilateral Neiguan (PC 6) in group I , and an intravenous injection with 1 mL Droperidol was used in group II , while there was no treatment carried out in group Ill'. Twenty four hours after the operation, the frequency and degree of nausea and vomiting were observed and scored according to the criteria standard.
RESULTSThe incidence rate of nausea was 10. 0% (4/40) in group I , 57. 5% (23/40) in group II , which was significantly different from 80. 0% (32/40) in group III (P<0. 01, P<0. 05, respectively), while it was lower in group I than in group II (P<0. 01). The incidence rate of vomiting was 7. 5% (3/40) in group I , 52. 5% (21/40) in group II , which was significantly different from 75.0% (30/40) in group III (P<0.01, P<0.05 respectively), while it was lower in group I than in group II (P<0.01). No complication, such as obvious drowsiness, anxiety and extracorticospinal tract reaction, was observed among the three groups.
CONCLUSIONAcupoint injection at Neiguan (PC 6) with a small dose of Droperidol can effectively prevent the PONV after laparoscopic gynecologic surgery without other adverse effects.
