OBJECTIVETo evaluate the role of undermining orbicularis oculi muscle from Orbital rim for the correction of tear trough deformity and palabromalar groove in lower blepharoplasty.
METHODS56 cases of lower eye baggy deformity with tear trough deformity and palabromalar groove were treated with the procedure of stripping eye orbicularis oculi muscle from orbital rim by a transcutaneous approach in lower blepharoplasty. The orbital septum was opened along the arcus marginalis for releasing the orbital fat. Some orbital fat was removed if necessary. Then the inferior edge of the orbital septum fat was reset over the orbital rim so as to smooth the infraorbital groove.
RESULTS56 patients were available for 6 to 18 month's follow-up. 54 patients were quite satisfied with the cosmetic result. One developed lower eyelid retraction and another one showed asymmetrical subcutaneous local uneven after 1 month's. They were all corrected by the second operation after 3 months.
CONCLUSIONSStripping orbicularis oculi muscle from orbital rim plays an important role for the correction of tear trough deformity and palabromalar groove in lower blepharoplasty.

To explore new biflavones, 7-hydroxy-8-hydroxymethyl-4'-methoxyisoflavone (1), (5, 7-dihydroxyflavone-8-yl)-(7'-hydroxy-4"-methoxyisoflavone-8'-yl)methane (2), bis(7-hydroxy-4'-methoxyflavone-8-yl) methane (3), bis(3', 5'-diisopropyl-7, 4'-dihydroxy-isoflavone-8-yl)methane (4), and bis(7-hydroxy-isoflavone-8-yl) methane (5) were designed and synthesized from chrysin, formononetin, 7, 4'-dihydroxy-3', 5'-diisopropyl-isoflavone and 7-hydroxy-isoflavone. Their structures were identified with IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. The binding of 1-5 with DNA was studied with fluorescent spectroscopy. Compounds 2-5 showed higher binding affinity with DNA than 1. According to the Stern-Volmer equation, the binding constants of 2, 3 were determined at 35 degrees C and 25 degrees C respectively, they were Kq2 (25 degrees C) = 1.95 x 10(4) Lx mol(-1) and Kq2 (35 degrees C) = 1.67 x 10(4) L x mol(-1); Kq3 (25 degrees C) = 1.89 x 10(4) L x mol(-1) and Kq3 (35 degrees C) = 1.58 x 10(4) L x mol(-1). The quenching mechanism of 2, 3 was suggested as static quenching.

Objective:
To analyze the correlation between circumcision and incidence and clearance of male genital HPV infection.
Methods:
From May to July 2014, 18-55 year old men who had sexual behavior history were recruited from the general population in Liuzhou, Guangxi to set up a cohort. Totally, 113 circumcised and 560 uncircumcised men were enrolled and interviewed using a questionnaire (including information on demographic characteristics and sexual behaviors), then they were followed-up with 6-month interval for 2 times. On each visit, specimens of male external genitalia were collected and genotyped for HPV DNA. The differences of incidence and clearance of genital HPV infections between circumcised and uncircumcised men were analyzed by Log-rank test. Cox regression was used to analyze the relationship between circumcision and incidence and clearance of HPV infection.
Results:

Biomedical and Environmental Sciences 2023;36(3):213-221
OBJECTIVE:
This study aims to evaluate the association between lower grip strength and mortality hazard.
METHODS:
We selected 10,280 adults aged 45 to 96 years old from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study and used multivariate Cox proportional hazard models to assess the association of grip strength with mortality hazard. In addition, we explored the possibility of a nonlinear relationship using a 4-knot restricted spline regression.
RESULTS:
We found that elevated grip strength was associated with lower mortality up to a certain threshold. The baseline quartile values of grip strength were 30, 37, and 44 kg for males and 25, 30, and 35 kg for females. After adjusting for confounders, with category 1 as the reference group, the adjusted HRs were 0.58 (0.42-0.79) in males and 0.70 (0.48-0.99) in females (category 4). We also found a linear association between grip strength values and all-cause death risk (males, P = 0.274; females, P = 0.883) using restricted spline regression. For males with a grip strength < 37 kg and females with a grip strength < 30 kg, grip strength and death were negatively associated.
CONCLUSION
Grip strength below a sex-specific threshold is inversely associated with mortality hazard among middle-aged and older Chinese adults with chronic diseases.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2022;38(6):558-562
Studies have shown that autoimmune disease (AID)-related ulcers are disease complications that lead to serious poor prognosis such as infection and disability. It is difficult to make a clear diagnosis and there are contradictions between the applications of immunosuppressive therapy and anti-infectious therapy. Improper diagnosis and immunosuppressive therapy can easily delay the timing of anti-infectious therapy and surgery for patients, which bring adverse effects on the prognosis of patients. This paper reviews the concept, clinical characteristics and treatment suggestions of each subtype of AID-related ulcers, in order to provide more ideas for AID-related ulcers' clinical diagnosis and treatment.
