Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2008;6(5):304-306
Objective: To study the clinical effects of acupuncture therapy for acute stroke. Methods: 150 patients suffered from acute stroke were randomly divided into two groups: drug group, acupuncture group. To apply routine drug treatment of Neurology for drug group: pisacetam 250mL, Salvia injection 20mL added into normal sodium 250mL for intravenous drip, once a day. For acupuncture group applied calm the liver and suppress yang acupuncture therapy beside drugs. Modified Scandinavian Stroke Scale (SSS) and activities of daily living (ADL) scale (Barthel Index) were used for evaluation, as well as biochemistry\hemorheology determination. Results: The scale showed significant difference as compared with the drug group, biochemistry index had non-significant difference, and hemorheological index had partly improved. Conclusion: The scale could synchronously reflect the clinical symptom and changes of patient with stroke.Acupuncture therapy has a significant improvement of acute stroke treatment.

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
Carotenoids play an important role in regulating the hydrogen production of hydrogen-producing Rhodobacter sp. The carotenoids of hydrogen-producing Rhodobacter sp. grown in acetate medium were extracted by using acetone-methanol (7∶2,V/V) solvent and were separated by using thin-layer chromatography on silica-gel plate. The qualitative and quantitative of the carotenoids were analyzed by spectrometry. The results showed that the carotenoids were completely extracted three times with acetone-methanol (7∶2,V/V) in two hours. The ultrasonication had little effect on yield of carotenoids. The yield of carotenoids was 2.81mg/g wet cell. There were 4 spots on the silica-gel plate in the order of yellow, red, light red and light yellow. Yellow spot and red spot were the dominant composition of carotenoid in Rhodobacter sp. The spectrometry data showed that the yellow and red component might be the spheroidene and spirilloanthin respectively.

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Mutagenesis and screening of hydrogen-producing photosynthetic bacteria,Rhodobacter sp.R7 strain, was investigated by using the combination mutation of ultraviolet ray and LiCl and layer plating methods.A carotenoid mutant named R726 strain was obtained. The plate phenotype properties in carotenoid mutant were different from that of parent strains.Living cells spectra showed that absorption peak of 550 nm was appeared in carotenoid mutant, but not in parent strain. The absorption spectra of extraction of pigment further confirmed the difference of carotenoid composition between the mutant and parent strains. The result of TLC on silica gel plate showed that mutant has a lack of yellow carotenoid composition which occurs in parent strain.H_2 productivity and biomass in carotenoid mutant was higher than that of parent strain. These results revealed that mutant has a modified carotenoid biosynthesis pathway.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2011;31(2):252-255
Chronic viral hepatitis B (CHB) is a major infectious disease greatly harmful to the health of Chinese people. Chinese medicine has its speciality and advantages in treating it depending syndrome-differentiation. The objectified researches regarding Chinese medical syndromes in CHB heretofore were reviewed in this article. Moreover, aiming at existing problems and taking the angle of "disease-syndrome combining" study, authors put forward research approach, and approaches for studying systemic biology based biological basis of Chinese medical syndrome in hepatitis B with reductionism and holism, cybernetics and system theories in combination.

To provide accurate information on geographic distribution of crude drug Sailonggu in the plateau, we identified zokor species (Eospalax spp.) in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau using molecular methods. Based on the mitochondrial cytochrome B (cytb) gene sequences, we then extracted haplotypes from these sequences and reconstructed phylogenetic trees for the haplotypes using both maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian inference (BI) methods. Based on the trees, the species of each sample were determined. Five hundred and three samples from 35 populations were sequenced and their whole cytb sequences (1140 bp) were obtained. From these sequences 150 haplotypes were detected, in which, 126 were Eospalax baileyi, 20 were E. cansus, and 4 were E. smithi of the 35 populations, 28 were E. baileyi type, 5 were E. cansus type, and the remaining 2 were mixed of E. baileyi + E. cansus (DT2) and E. baileyi + E. smithi (ZN3). The results showed that, the regions around the Qinghai lake and near the upper stream of Yellow River started at Guide could be viewed as the producing area of authentic Sailonggu, and also, the cytb gene is a powerful molecular marker to determine the species of zokors as well as for the authentication of geographic distribution of Sailonggu.

Objective To investigate the prognostic significance of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) for locally advanced pulmonary adenocarcinoma with micropapillary pattern(MPPAC).Methods A total of 45 completely resected pN2-3 cases that occured from January 2012 to December 2014 at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. All of them were diagnosed with MPPAC by pathological diagnosis.Based on whether receiving PORT, patients were divided into radiotherapy and non-radiotherapy groups.General characteristics, overall survival and disease-free survival characteristics of the two groups were compared, respectively. Results The median overall survival (OS) of patients was 19.8 months, 1-year and 2-year overall survival rate was 79.4% and 30.3% , respectively. The median disease free survival (DFS) of patients was 13 months, 1-year and 2-year, and the disease free survival rate was 59.3% and 28.9% , respectively. The radiotherapy and non-radiotherapy groups exhibited median OS of 22.3 and 11.4 months, respectively (x2=13.329, P< 0.05) , and corresponding D FS of 16.2 and 10.4 months(x2 =7.972 ,P <0.05).The epidermal growth factor receptor gene (EGFR) mutation rate of patients was 57.14% (20/35), In the subgroup analysis, for patients with EGFR mutation, the radiotherapy and non-radiotherapy groups showed median OS of 25.6 and 18.4 months, respectively(x2 =9.268,P < 0.05) , and corresponding DFS of 21.6 and 12.6 months (P > 0.05).For patients with wildtype EGFR, the radiotherapy and non-radiotherapy groups showed median OS of 21.8 and 10.6 months,respectively(x2 =9.595,P < 0.05) , and corresponding DFS of 15.2 and 6.6 months(x2 =4.538,P <0.05).Conclusions PORT could improve survival of patients with pN2.3 MPPAC.For patients with locally advanced MPPAC after curative resection, PORT is still an integral part of treatment.

ObjectiveTo study the effects of using bilingual education among different nursing undergraduates in the Nursing Fundamentals, and then make out some proper education pattern. Methods Bilingual education has been implemented for one year in the course of Nursing Fundamentals among 82 nursing undergraduates who have graduated from high school and 81 nursing undergraduates who have graduated from hygiene school in 2003 degree. Results There were significant difference between two kinds of nursing undergraduates in the passed rate of CET 4, P0.05. Conclusion The bilingual education can be implemented in the different nursing undergraduates.
