Congentally corrected transposition of the great vessels can best be defined as a malformation in which the aorta and pulmonary artery are transposed in relation to each other but in which the flow of blood is in the physiologic direction. And in addition to the malposition of great vessels, there is an inversion of the ventrice,. Unfortunately this basic malformation seldom exists withot complicating cardiovascular anomalies. We had experienced a case of congenitally corrected transposition of the great vessels associated with itral?insufficiency in 13year-old boy, who presented the most above mentioned findings. We have made diagnosis by cardiac catheterization and selective angiocardiographic study.

3.Adrenal Gland Metastasis of a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor.

A 56-year-old male with a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) underwent surgical resection of the tumor. Nine months after surgery, imatinib therapy was initiated because of the discovery of metastatic tumors in the left adrenal gland and in a lymph node of the peritoneum. Seventeen months later, the patient achieved complete remission (CR) and imatinib therapy was continued. However, 48 months after initiation of imatinib therapy, computed tomography scans revealed a left adrenal gland metastasis and the patient underwent left adrenalectomy. Immunohistochemical staining indicated that the spindle-shaped cells of the resected tumor were positive for C-kit, thus confirming metastasis of the GIST. This is the first report from Korea of an adrenal gland metastasis from a GIST. Worldwide, only two such cases have been reported. Here, we describe the first case of a distant recurrence of a GIST in the left adrenal gland after CR had been achieved with the aid of surgical resection and imatinib therapy.

4.The effect of dentifrice including dental type silica, tocopherol acetate, sodium fluoride and sodium pyrophosphate on mineral density in enamel

Objectives:
In this study, we aimed to investigate the preventive and protective effects of new dentifrice containing dental type silica, tocopheryl acetate, fluorides, and sodium pyrophosphate on the mineral density of teeth and demineralization of tooth surfaces.
Methods:
A total of 119 bovine teeth pre-treated with the new dentifrice at three different concentrations for the experiment were randomly allocated into two control (DW and PW) and one experimental (EC) groups. The enamel surface of all bovine teeth were demineralized using an artificial demineralization solution. The dentifrice was diluted with distilled water (DW) at 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 ratios. The samples were treated with the demineralization solution for 4 h after treatment with the supernatants of each diluted dentifrice for 30 min, and this procedure was repeated 3 times over a period of 24 h. The samples were examined using micro-CT to determine the amount of reduced bone mineral density (BMD) comparing the control and experimental dentifrices. The surface changes of the samples were also examined using the scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Results:
The average BMD of the bovine enamel surface between the treated and non-treated area with the dimineralization solution was significantly different in the control, DW, PW 1:1, PW 1:2, and PW 1:3 groups. However, there was no significant difference observed in the experimental groups, including EC 1:1, EC 1:2, and EC 1:3. The average BMD of the dimineralized surfaces based on the results of the 7 groups was significantly higher in every EC group when compared to the DW and three PW groups.
Conclusions
The new dentifrice containing dental type silica, tocopheryl acetate, fluorides, and sodium pyrophosphate is effective in inhibiting the decrease in BMD and demineralization of enamel surface, which was observed when the new dentifrice and demineralization solution was repeatedly applied to the samples for 24 h.

The data consisted of main diagnoses related to TMD (International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision [ICD-10] code: K07.6 and K07.6x). The age-standardized prevalence of TMD was calculated using the estimated Korean population in 2020 as a reference.
Results:
The age-standardized prevalence of TMD increased from 604 persons per 100,000 persons in 2012 to 869 persons in 2020. In 2020, the overall age-standardized prevalence was 1,355 persons in the 10 to 19 years age group, 1,809 persons in the 20 to 29 years age group, and 979 persons in the 30 to 39 years age group. The age-standardized prevalence was approximately 1.5 times higher in females than in males (698 persons in males vs. 1,040 persons in females). Among the specific TMD subtypes, the age-standardized prevalence of internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint and pain in the temporomandibular joint, not classified elsewhere, was higher than that of other specific TMDs.
Conclusion
The overall age-standardized prevalence of TMD was higher in the 10s, 20s, and 30s age groups and in females between 2012 and 2020. The age-standardized prevalence of internal derangement of temporomandibular joint was the highest among specific TMD subtypes.

9.Recurrent Stent Thrombosis in Different Coronary Arteries.

Drug-eluting stents (DES) dramatically reduce the rate of restenosis and the need for repeat revascularization. Despite these promising results, stent thrombosis seems to occur more frequently with DES and often seems to be associated with premature discontinuation of antiplatelet agents. We experienced a case of recurrent stent thrombosis with separate lesions. Recurrent stent thrombosis is a very rare event, and simultaneous stent thrombosis is also rare. Here, we report a case of recurrently developing stent thrombosis involving separate lesions.

10.Endometrial Cancers in the Fourth Decade: A Clinicopathologic Review.

OBJECTIVE: This study was performed to evaluate the clinical characteristics, histopathology and prognosis of endometrial cancer under 40 years of age. METHODS: This retrospective study was based on medical records including pathologic reports of 6 women under the age of 40 with histologically proven endometrial cancer at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gyeongsang National University Hospital from Jan. 1991 to Dec. 2002. The survival of patients was determined by description of last follow up date in medical records. If more than 3 months passed from last follow up date, we used phone call to identify the status of patients. RESULTS: The mean age of 6 cases with young endometrial cancer was 36.5 years. The most common symptom was abnormal vaginal bleeding (50%). The parity of the patients was nulliparity in 2 cases (33.3%), primiparity in 2 cases (33.3%) and multiparity in 2 cases (33.3%). The body weight over 61 kg was in 4 cases (66.7%) and obesity was in 3 cases (50%). The risk factors and associated diseases were amenorrhea or irregular menstruation in 2 cases (33.3%), hypertension in 1 case (16.7%) and Cushing syndrome in 1 case (16.7%). Histopathologic subtypes was adenocarcinoma in 3 cases (50%), adenoacanthoma in 1 case (16.7%), papillary adenocarcinoma in 1 case (16.7%) and stromal sarcoma in 1 case (16.7%). The stages of the patients were classified as stage I in 5 cases (83.3%) and stage II in 1 case (16.7%). The grades were classified into grade 1 in 4 cases (66.7%), grade 2 in 1 case ( 16.7%) and grade 3 in 1 case (16.7%). All of the patients were treated by primary surgery, 2 cases were treated by surgery with radiation therapy, 1 case with hormonal therapy, 1 case with chemotherapy. All except one case (gade 3 with <1/2 myometrial invasion) were survived. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that endometrial cancer has a favorable prognosis in the young women than in the older patients because it diagnosed at early stage with lower grade.
