The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2000;38(1):85-97
The purpose of this study was to compare the corrosion characteristics between implant fixture and two types of abutment screw; gold screw, titanium screw. The anodic polarization behavior, the galvanic corrosion behavior, and the crevice corrosion behavior of prepared samples were investigated using potentiostat and scanning electron microscope. The results were as follows : 1. Anodic polarization behavior of samples: The primary passivation potential of implant fixture was -420mV, implant abutment was -560mV, titanium screw was -370mV and gold screw was -230mV. All samples were shown to have a high corrosion potential and good formation of passive film. The critical passive current density of gold screw was higher than of other samples and the sample of gold screw showed a unstable passive film formation at passive region. 2. Galvanic corrosion behavior of samples: Contact current density between implant fixture and titanium screw showed 8.023x 10-5C/cm2. Contact current density between implant fixture and gold screw showed 5.142x 10-5C/cm2. 3. Crevice corrosion behavior of samples : The crevice corrosion resistance of sample using titanium screw was higher than that of sample using gold screw, and a severe corrosion morphologies were observed at the fixture-screw interface by the scanning electron microscope.

2.Clinical Experience with Medpor Implant Through Transconjunctival Incision in Blow-out Fractures.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1998;39(5):823-829
Medpor, the high density porous polyethylene, which permits rapid ingrowth of both soft tissues and vasculatures, is highly stable but somewhat flexible and is also easy to shape. So it has been often used for plastic and reconstructive surgeries including facial bone fractures, as well as orbital wall fractures. The authors investigated sex and age distribution, causes of injury, combined ocular injuries, and fracture sites of 45 blow-out fractures. And 27 orbital reconstructions was performed by using 0. 85mm thickness Medpor within 2 weeks after injury, if possible. During post-operative follow up, the preoperative diplopia was resolved or decreased in all cases, but the enophthalmos was not completely resolved. Much researches will be needed for choice of Medpor`s thickness or operation methods, and long term stability shoud be approved through further follow up.

Journal of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine 2007;18(6):496-502
PURPOSE: This study was done to evaluate the effect and retention of CPR training in nursing students. METHODS: The participants were 64 nursing students enrolled in K University in Busan. Data were collected from April 3 to October 20, 2006 using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/PC 12.0 statistical program. RESULTS: The first hypothesis, that knowledge (t=-17.865, p=0.000) and skill (t=-11.216, p= 0.000) scored directly following the teaching program would be higher than before the program, was supported. The second hypothesis, that knowledge (t=-8.325, p=0.171) and skill (t=-9.812, p=0.062) scored directly after the teaching program would be higher than two months later, was rejected. The third hypothesis, that knowledge (t=-9.162, p=0.010) and skill (t=-6.019, p=0.023) scored two months after the program would be higher than four months after the program, was supported. The last hypothesis, that knowledge (t=9.169, p=0.210) and skill (t=-5.012, p=0.319) scored four months after the program would be higher than six months after the program, was rejected. CONCLUSION: Overall retention of CPR training among nursing students, without reinforcement, decreases most significantly between two and four months following initial training. Accordingly CPR training should be repeated with the same clients every four months.

5.Effects on Nursing Student’S Communication Competence, Interpersonal Relationship, and Information Literacy Competency on Problem Solving Ability
Health Communication 2022;17(2):99-106
Purpose:
: This study is a descriptive research study conducted to understand the effects of communication competence, interpersonal relationship, and information literacy competency on problem-solving in the college of nursing.
Methods:
: This study was conducted from May 16 to May 31, 2022 with 154 students enrolled in the second year of the Department of Nursing in D city. Data collection was measured using a self-report questionnaire that measures communication competence, interpersonal relationships, information literacy ability, and problem-solving ability. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 program, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlations, and multiple linear regression.
Results:
: Communication ability, interpersonal relationship, information utilization ability and problem solving ability were found to have a significant positive correlation. In addition, factors affecting problem-solving ability appeared in the order of information utilization competency, communication ability, and interpersonal relationships, and the explanatory power of these variables for problem-solving ability was 64.9%.
Conclusion
: Based on the research results of this study, it is necessary to develop and apply an educational program that can improve information utilization ability in order to increase the problem-solving ability of nursing colleges.

Congenital M llerian anomalies of uterus are so infrequently encountered and endometriosis, primary infertility, hematometra, and urinary tract anomalies are claimed to be common complaints in women with unicornuate uterus. We report one case of rudimentary horn associated with agenesis of right kidney and pelvic endometriosis which is presented with brief review of literature about anomaly of the female genital tract.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1984;2(2):178-180
The characteristics of radionuclide brain scan imaging of intracranial lesion are determined, in part, by the rate and quantity of radioactive material in the region of involvement, which is associated with alterations in the blood brain barrier. Findings, noted on the blood flow studies, often serve to direct attention to forthcoming imaging of specific pathological change on the status studies, e.g, carotid artery occlusion and cerebral infarction. We have seen that the 62 year old woman with left side hemiparesis shows typical "Flip-Flap" pattern in brain scan imaging, thought to be due to carotid artery occlusion.

Journal of the Korean Society for Microbiology 1998;33(5):435-439
To elucidate iron utilization patterns of Staphylococcus aureus according to the growth, we checked the residual iron concentration and the production of siderophores at the indicated times while culturing S. aureus ATCC 6538 and 25923 strains in brain heart infusion broth. By using streptonigrin susceptibility test and investigating growth curves in three culture media of which iron concentration is 0.2, 20, 45 uM, respectively, we found out that iron metabolism of 6538 strain was more active than that of 25923 strain. In point of tendency of iron consumption, 6538 strain steeply consumed iron just before the onset of stationary phase, but 25923 strain did gradually iron throughout the growth phase. Nevertheless, total amount of iron consumed by each strain during the growth was almost no difference between the strains. CAS diffusion assay in detecting siderophores showed that siderophore production followed iron consumption. These results suggest that the siderophores play significant role in iron utilization in vitro.

The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology 2021;77(1):35-38
Hydatid cysts are caused by an infestation with larval tapeworms of the genus Echinococcus. The disease is endemic in developing countries but has rarely been reported from immigrant workers in Korea. This paper reports a case of hepatic hydatid cyst in a 27-year-old female. She was referred with abdominal pain that had persisted for the past 2 months. The patient was a foreign worker from Mongolia. The physical examination was unremarkable, and blood tests showed peripheral blood eosinophilia and elevated liver enzymes. Abdominal ultrasonography showed a well-circumscribed cystic mass with septation in the liver. A surgical resection was performed for complete removal. After uncomplicated postoperative recovery, the patient was discharged with albendazole 400 mg twice daily. The hydatid cyst is an important disease that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cystic lesions in the liver, particularly in those who have lived in endemic areas. A correct early diagnosis based on the typical image findings is important for early treatment before the rupture of the cyst, which is associated with low morbidity and mortality. A current surgical resection combined albendazole are effective treatments for hepatic hydatid cysts, associated with low recurrence rates.
