1.Clinical characteristics and endoscopy imaging of benign gastric polyps
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;291(12):21-24
In 1994-2000 year period, from 6275 patients at Hospital No 108, 62 patients (37 males and 25 females) with stomach polyps were chosen for study. Results: stomach polyps occupied 0.98% of patients of endoscopic examination. 72.5% of patients have been above 40 years old. The clinical symptoms were not specific and their could be the associated symptoms of stomach injury – 90.3% of patients number had only 1 polyp, 85% of patients had the polyps in pylorus antrum. The polyp with diameter under 3 cm occupied 93.1%. 25.8% had a normal stomach image. Associated damages were gastritis, duodenal ulcer, stomach ulcer. 44/62 patients with stomach polyps (70.9%) had H. pylori. Hyperplasic polys accounts for 72.5%, gland epithelial polyps 20.9%

2.Report a rare form of gastric cancer - Histiocytome malign.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):35-37
Report a case of 17-year-old male patient who had diagnosis of gastric cancer. This patient was admitted in 2/1/1998, operated in12/1/1998 and discharged in 27/1/1998. During this time, the patient underwent total gastrectomy and removed lymphatic nodes. This is first case of Histiocytome malign that was not involved in gastric adenocarcinoma has been reported. Clinical features included left side abdominal pain; loss weight rapidly; persistent high fever; extended necrotic lesions in gastric body that invaded abdominal wall and diaphragm, lymphatic nodular metastases. Post-operative survival time was as short as 2 months and 12 days.

3.Concentrations of markers of gastric tumors in healthy people by IRMA
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):60-63
The quantification of markers of gastric tumors in healthy people by IRMA has shown that the serum concentrations of CA 72-4 and CA 19-9 in 49 healthy people with ages of 18-49 was 4.05 +/- 3.07 u/ml and 17.12 +/- 11.06, respectively. There was no difference of specific these markers between men and women. These results can be used to compare with markers in patients with gastric tumors.

4.The prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in Vietnam and in Australia
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;8():23-29
Study on 732 Australia dyspeptic patients with infection of H. pylori, in which there are 96 Vietnamese immigrants. Results: Among dyspeptic patients, the prevalence of H. pylori infection in Vietnam (63.7%, 95%Cl: 62.7-64.7%) was statistically higher than that in Australia (46.4%, 95%Cl: 46.0-46.8%). The spectrum of GD diseases in Vietnamese dyspeptic patients is very different from that of Australian patients with higher DU and GU and lower GORD and Barrett's epithelium. The prevalence of H. pylori infection in Vietnamese patients in Hanoi is not different from that of Vietnamese immigrants in Australia. In contrast, GoRD is found about 7 times more frequent in Vietnamese immigrants compared with Vietnamese patients living in Hanoi.

Gastric cavernous hemangioma is a relatively rare benign gastric disease. Gastric hemangiomas are most commonly encountered in adulthood, although they can occur in any age group. While surgical resection is the curative treatment, endoscopic resection can be performed for treatment of selected cases. The patient was a 53-year-old male who was referred for evaluation of incidentally detected gastric subepithelial tumor with dense vascularity and oozing on the apex of the lesion. An EUS revealed a homogenously hypoechoic mass confined to the submucosal layer that showed no continuity with adjacent vessels, and there was no regional lymphadenopathy. Endoscopic submucosal dissection was successfully performed with en bloc resection. The final diagnosis was benign cavernous hemangioma of the stomach.

Journal of the Korean Surgical Society 1999;57(6):909-913
Gastric duplication is an extremely rare disease that is commonly encountered during the first and the second decades. It is usually located in the greater curvature and forms a complete cystic structure. It usually presents non-specific post-prandial abdominal discomfort or is free of symptoms. Its significance is that it is associated with gastric malignancy or gastric ulcer and is difficult to differentiate from gastric submucosal tumor. We recently encountered an unusual case of gastric duplication, which developed in a 29-year-old man whose chief complaint was chronic abdominal discomfort. With a preoperative impression of gastric submucosal tumor, we explored his abdomen and found the gastric duplication located in the greater curvature side and performed a wedge resection. He was uneventfully discharged on the 12th postoperative day.

Korean Journal of Family Medicine 2012;33(5):311-319
BACKGROUND: Physical and mental health of workers is threatened due to various events and chronic occupational stress. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between occupational stress and gastric disease in male workers of the shipbuilding industry. METHODS: Occupational stress measured among a total of 498 workers of a shipbuilding firm who visited the hospital for health examination using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS)-short form, and the relationship between sociodemographic factors, health-related behaviors, occupational stress, and gastric disease, and the distribution of occupational stress by sociodemographic factors in the gastric disease group was examined. RESULTS: There was no significant association between gastric disease and total occupational stress score and its seven sub-factors. The analysis showed that risk of gastric disease was significantly higher in the Q1 group in which the stress caused by occupational discomfort among seven sub-factors was lowest than that in the Q4 group (odds ratio, 2.819; 95% confidence interval, 1.151 to 6.908). Analysis only on the gastric disease group showed that the stress score of laborers was higher in the four sub-factors than that of office workers (P < 0.05). Analysis on educational background showed that the scores of the three sub-factors were lower in subjects who's highest level of education was high school (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: This study suggests that it is necessary to improve the culture of Korean collectivism in the workplace and to manage the occupational stress in the low-educated and laborers. It is recommended for future studies to confirm the causal relationship between occupational stress and gastric disease by large scale studies using a KOSS which appropriately reflects workplace culture.

8.Contribution to the manufacture of an antiacid complex for the treatment of gastric and duodenal diseases from aluminum and magnesium compounds:
Pharmaceutical Journal 2000;291(7):13-15
Magaldrat, a chemical combination of aluminum and magnesium hydroxides was synthesized from aluminum compounds and magnesium sulfate. The factors, which influence the result, have been investigated. The quality of magaldrate has also been analyzed following the standards of USP XXIII. The product showed low acute and chronic toxicity in vivo.

9.clarithromycin, amoxicillin, and metronidazole of Helicobacter pylori in 3 years (2000-2002)
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2003;283(4):45-52
In an investigation on 215 patients (55 females, 160 males) aged 80-82, suffering from gastric, duodenal ulcer with Helicobacter pylori (+), 155 samples were isolated with a rate of successful culture of 72.1% and 116 strains of bacteria underwent an antibiogramme procedure for determining the sensitivity of the bacterium. Results showed the antibiotic resistance of metronidazole (M), clarithromycine (CLA), amoxycillin rating 54.3%, 21.6%, 18.1% respectively, with no difference concerning the age and the gender. During 3 years (2000-2002) there was a trend of enhance of resistance to 3 mentioned antibiotics, and metrodiazole got the highest resistance rate. These antibiotics are currently the most common tools to eliminate H. pylori, therefore this is a considerable concern in the treatment of gastro-duodenal ulcer of the next future
