Atrophie blanche is a rare vasculitis reported by Milian in 1929, that is characterizel by small erythematous, telangiectatic purpura which developes central hemorragic curst or painful ulceration and heals with atrophic white scar several months later. It is seen more commonly in middle-aged women and become worse in summer. It manifests primarly on the lower legs, ankles and dorsa of the feet, rarely on the elbows and dorse of the hands, where are the areas of the poor blood circulation. This case was 45 year-old woman who had suffered from periodic painful ulceration on the legs, ankles, dorsa of feet k hands and. elbows for about 18 years. Histopathologic findings showed fibrinoid degeneration R partial occlusion in the capillaries and mild perivascular chronic inflammatory cells infiltration in the upper corium. The lesion was not so improved by systemic k local corticosteroid therapy for about 3 months,

Korean Circulation Journal 1975;5(2):87-92
The clinical effect of etafenone on 12 cases of angina pectoris(9 males and 3 females with average age of 58.3 years) were studied and following results were obtained: 1. Anginal chest pains were improved after average 9 days (3~15 days) of medication and the dreug was very effective in 41.7%, moderately effective in 33.3% and slightly effective in 25.0% of cases. 2. The ST segment depression of E.C.G. were reduced in 50.0%, improvement of T waves inversion or enlargement of T waves were observed in 66.7% and E.C.G. improvement either ST segment or T wave observed in 75.0% of cases. 3. No side reactions such as hypotension, palpitation, dizziness, headache or gastrointestinal disturbances were seen during the treatement with etafenone.

A considerable body of evidence has been accumulated suggesting that invasive squamous cell carcinoma develops from cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN). Most women with invasive cancer of the cervix are from lower socioeconomic groups, have begun heterosexual activity early in life, marry early, are multiparous, and have many sexual partners. Although the epidemiology of the cervical cancer is known well, the pathogenesis of the cervical cancer from CIN is subtle yet. Apoptosis, including the programmed cell death, is important event in normal cell turnover and maintenance of adult tissues. Apoptosis exerts a homeostatic function in relation to tissues dynamics, as the steady state of continuously renewing tissues achieved by a balance between cell replication and cell death. The specific labelling of nick ends of fragmented DNA was used to see the apoptotic cells from normal epithelium of the cervix to invasive cervical cancer. The apoptotic cells were found normally in the parabasal layer of the epithelium. As the grade of CIN increase, the apoptotic cell were found in superficial of the cervix and number of the apoptotic cell were increased. In the cervical cancer, the apoptotic cell were found in the cancerous tissues more than in the normal epithelium. This results suggest that the cell proliferation is more important than the inhibition of the apoptosis in the carcinogenesis of the cervical cancer.

7.The Study of Elements of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation.
Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1993;22(12):1344-1347
In a retrospective study of 52 patients who underwent elective surgery for cerebral arteriovenous malformation, statistical analysis of elements of AVM was undertaken, in order to discover the predictors of operative morbidity. All patients had a computed tomographic scan and the positive angiogram before surgery. Elements of AVM contains Indus, arterial feeders and draining veins. The size of nidus was classified by Yasargil's method. The results were same as below; 1) Size:Giant-6 cases, large-7 cases, moderate-7 cases, small-13 cases. 2) Arterial feeders:ACA-16 cases(23%), MCA-32 cases(45%), PCA-14 cases(20%), AnCh-4 cases(6%), SCA-1 case(1%), Post. Choroidal-2 cases(3%), Call. Marginal-1 cases(1%), Opthalmic-1 case(1%). 3) Type of venous drainage:type A-10 cases, type B-3 cases, type C-7 cases, type D-4 cases, type E-9 cases, type F-2 cases.

8.The Operative Treatment for the Meningiomas in the low Clivus and Foramen Magnum.
Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1993;22(12):1319-1323
The authors report the experiences of transcondylar approaches for five meningiomas in the low clivus and foramen magnum. These tumors were removed via transcondylar approach. The results show that there was no operative mortality and minimal operative morbidity;one patient had temporary oropharyngeal dysfunction. This approach offers the best direct vision of the ventral structures to low clivus and foramen magnum without additional retraction or manipulation of the brain stem.

The authors have experienced a case of incompatible blocd transfusion during general anesthesia, which was mostly due to technical error, lack of knowledgeoble handling and universal doncr "0" type blood.
