Korean Journal of Dermatology 1976;14(4):407-411
Since the first report of a case by Heidingsfeld(1918), Atropbia Maculosa Varioliformis Cutis has heen rarely and no authentic bistologic findings have been reporte9. Recently we observed this disorder in a 12 years old girl who showed punched out macular atrophic lesions with flat base, round or irreguIar in shape, 14 in number and 0. 1 x 0. 1crn 3 x 3. 5cm in size appearing on the face, right buttock and flank. The Liistology showed flatted epidermis vith hyperkeratosis, thick connective tissue fibers mostly running paralell to the surface of the skin, disappearance of elastica in the upper derrnisend short frail elastic fibers in the mid dermis. The literature concerning atrophy of the skin is reviewed.

2.Skeletal Manifestation of Congenital Syphilis in Infant: Report of 9 Cases
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1969;4(4):11-14
The auther experienced 9 cases of congenital syphilis in infant at Chonnam National University Hospital during the period from January to July 1968. Diagnosis was reached by the definite X-ray finding of bony structure followed by family history and positive specific serologic test for parents. Clinical improvement with penicillin thereapy in those cases was constant and impressive.

We report one case of 1 month old male with early congenital syphilis Who represented the characteristic clinical features and laboratory findings including darkfield examindtion and quantitative VDRL test. The histopathologic findings of the patients skin biopsy specimen showed extravasation of erythrocytes and perivascular infiltration of plasma cells were found. in addition to the previous described findings by Fraser. He was managed by daily injection of 200,000 units of aqueous procaine penicillin for 8 days and then three injections of 150,000 units of PA.M at two days intervals with excellent effect

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1976;14(1):45-49
A case of Lupus vulgaris associated with scrofuloderma in a 11 year old girl is reported. The girl presented painless swellings, the left being more severe, on her both cheeks. A red, elevated, about 3 x 5 cm in size, partly eroded plaques is seen on her left cheek. On diascopy couple of so called apple jelly nodes are found within the plaque. A long linear red, scar like lesion is also found on her dlavicular area. Submandiblar lymph nodes are enlarged and hard. On right submandibular region there were two finger tip sized dome shaped red swellings which are connected with hard enlarged lymph nodes by cord like strings. The biopsy from left cheek disclosed typical picture of lupus vulgaris. The patient was refered to surgical clinic and was never seen again.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1976;14(3):283-287
Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis is a rare variant of ichthyosis, transmitted as autosomal dominant inheritance. A 2-year-old male baby, in whom no hereditary back ground was found, showed typical clinical and histopathological features of Epiderrnolytic Hyperkeratosis. The possibility of occuring the disease without hereditary back grcund, clinical features, and histological characteristics of the disease are discussed.

Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1992;12(1):87-90
Spontaneous perforation of bile duct in adults is very rare, with less than 30 cases described in the literature to date. We repoit a case of a 65-year-old man who presented with severe colicky abdominal pain and fever, just like symptoms of peritonitis. ERCP provided a preoperative noninvasive confirmation of the diagnosis of the rupture of right intrahepatic duct. The patient was performed T-tube choledochotomy and drainage of retroperitoneal bile collection. The etiolgy, diagnosis, and treatment of spontaneous perforation of bile duct is discussed.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1998;41(12):3001-3006
To evaluate the clinical efficacy of emergency cervical cerclage in the treatment of advanced cervical incompetence, a prospective clinical trial was performed in 18 patients with advanced cervical incompetence at 20 to 25 weeks gestation. Modified McDonalds operation with or without transabdominal amniocentesis was used for cervical cerclage. Pregnancy was prolonged for a sufficient time to deliver viable fetuses in 56.3% of patients. The median procedure-to-delivery interval was 8.6 (range 0.1 to 20.5) weeks for the entire group, and 13.9 (range 6.5 to 20.5) weeks for 9 patients who achieved live birth. The median gestational age at delivery was 38.6 (range 28.3 to 41.0) weeks for the live infants. The median birthweight of the live infants was 3062 g (range 1050 to 3620 g). The lack of significant matemal morbidity combined with the results for the fetus-infant supports further efforts in this area.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1994;37(3):332-338
To determine the types of metabolic a cidosis using anion gap in acute infantile diarrhea and to correlate it with clinical outcome, we examined 103 infants admitted with acute diarrhea. The serum electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphorus), creatinine, CO2 content and anion gap were measued on first admission day. They were classified group A with normal anion gap (8~16mEq/L) and group B with increased anion gap (>16mEq/L). The results were as follows. 1) The number of group A with normal anion gap (11.6+/-3.3mEq/L) was 62 and the number of group B with incresed anion gap(21.1+/-5.5mEq/L) was 38. 2) The duration of diarrhea was significantly prolonged in group B (9.0+/-2.5 days), compared with group A (5.9+/-1.1 days)(p<0.001). 3) The duration of admission was significantly prolonged in group B(5.6+/-2.2 days), compared with group A (4.+/-01.4days)(p<0.001). 4) Infants in group B, compared with group A, were significantly more severe dehydrated (p.
