Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1987;20(6):751-755
Glycopyrrolate is frequently administered in combination with neostigmine to reverse a neuromus- cular blockade. The dosage was well established at 1/5 of neostigmine. But the authers have often observed a delayed manifestation of relative bradycardia after such a recommended dosage. This is not mentioned in the literature, but this may be due to an insufficient observation period. The authors monitored the change of pulse rate for 1 hour after the administration of the recom. mended dose. Further, the data wIns compared with that obtained after studies of lower and higher doses. The doses were 0.004, 0.008 and 0.012mg/kg of glycopyrrolate with 0.04mg/kg of neostigmine. 1) At all doses, bradycardia relative to the pre-reversal pulse rate was progressive until 30 minutes after injection. 2) As the glycopyrrate dose was increased the degree of bradycardia decreased (-24.7, -20.5, - 15.0 at 30 min.). 3) There was no difference in the immediate change in the pulse rate between the dcsages of 0.008 and 0.012 mg/kg. Change occured at 9 mins. 4) At dosages of 0.004 and 0.008 mg/kg, the pulse rates at 60 min were comparable to their ward pulses, but at a dosage of 0.012 mg/kg, the pulse rate was 8.5 beats/min higher.

Journal of the Korean Geriatrics Society 2014;18(4):221-231
BACKGROUND: Considering the importance of human resource management of the long-term care workers, this study is to propose a political and practical intervention approach. The approach is based on the analysis of research on the influe nce of long-term care workers' health awareness on their life satisfaction. METHODS: The participants of this study include 600 long-term care workers working at Nursing homes and Nursing facilities located in Seoul. The data collected from the participants are analyzed with Multi Regression Analysis. RESULTS: The participants of this study include 600 long-term care workers working at Nursing homes and Nursing facilities located in Seoul. The data collected from the participants are analyzed with Multi Regression Analysis. Results: As a result of T-test and analysis of variance, statistically significant parameters to the subjective awareness of health are as follows: marriage, education, religion and work places. And as the minor parameters that influence the rate of life satisfaction the positive relationships between the emotional health (beta=0.178, p<0.01) and the intellectual health (beta=0.281, p<0.001) is statistically significant. CONCLUSION: The results of analysis indicate as follows: there is a positively significant relationship between social demographic characteristics, health awareness and life satisfaction; the higher participation in social activities, more women than men, and the higher income, the higher health awareness. The findings point out the importance of emotional and intellectual health and efforts to promote better health and demand for a societal change in health awareness. This study provides the baseline data for a practical intervention measure and political suggestion by examining how the individual characteristics and health awareness influence life satisfaction of long-term care workers, and by analyzing the effect of the interactions between them.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of ambroxol on preventing the infantile respiratory distress syndrome (IRDS) in preterm birth at the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Taegu Catholic Medical Center during the period from Jan. 1996 to Dec. 1996. Total of 68 cases were evaluated including 16 ambroxol group and 52 control group. The result were as follows : 1. In the comparison of preventing IRDS, there was 0 case of IRDS in ambroxol group and 7 cases of IRDS in control group (13.46 %). There was a significant difference between two groups (p<0.05). 2. The side effects of ambroxol after administration were nausea in 5 cases, headache in 3 cases, and chest discomfort in 4 cases, but these were not serious and self controlled. 3. There was no significant difference in neonatal morbidity between two groups (p > 0.05).

10.Effects of Open Laboratory Self-directed Practice on Knowledge, Self-confidence, Skill Competency, and Satisfaction of Intravenous Infusion.
Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2016;22(1):63-71
PURPOSE: This study was done in order to identify the effectiveness of open laboratory self-directed practice on knowledge, self-confidence, skill competency, and satisfaction of intravenous infusion in nursing students. METHODS: This is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control pre-posttest design. The participants were 32 students comprising an experimental group and 30 students comprising a control group. The experimental group was allowed to perform open laboratory self-directed practice only. Pretest and posttest was performed through questionnaires of knowledge and self-confidence, and competence and satisfaction were assessed using checklists at posttest. RESULTS: The score of Knowledge in the posttest showed no significant difference between both groups (F=1.28, p=.290), and those of self-confidence (F=3.87, p=.014) and competency (F=9.55, p<.001) of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. CONCLUSION: Open laboratory self-directed practice was effective in improving nursing students' self-confidence and competency of intravenous infusion. Therefore, students should be encouraged to actively participate in open laboratory self-directed practice and the effective strategies should be developed.
