Objective To explore the role of plasma level of homocysteine ( Hey ) in progressive ischemic stroke (PIS)of carotid artery system and to investigate the relationship between Hcy and carotid artery atherosclerosis(AS).Methods Plasma Hcy concentrations were measured in 68 patients with progressive ischemic stroke of carotid artery system (PIS group)and 72 patients with non-progressive ischemic stroke of carotid artery system ( non-PIS group ).Plasma Hcy level and carotid artery intima-media thickness ( IMT ) were compared among PIS group and non-PIS group as well as normal control group.The linear correlation between plasma Hcy level and IMT in PIS group was analyzed.Results Plasma Hcy concentrations was respectively (22.52 ± 5.26) μmol/L,( 16.38 ± 4.23) μmol/L and( 10.13 ± 2.16) μmol/L in PIS group,non-PIS group and normal control group( F =56.87,P ＜ 0.01 ).Compared PIS group and non-PIS group with normal control group,the differences were statistically significant ( P ＜ 0.01 ).And there was also significant difference on plasma Hcy levels between PIS group and non-PIS group( P ＜ 0.01 ).The thickness of carotid artery IMT was respectively(1.12 ± 0.34)mm,(0.96 ± 0.27)mm and(0.43 ± 0.21 )mm in PIS group,non-PIS group and normal control group( F =28.47,P ＜ 0.01 ).Compared PIS group and non-PIS group with normal control group,the differences were statistically significant( P ＜ 0.01 ).And there was also significant difference on IMT between PIS group and non-PIS group ( P ＜ 0.01 ).In PIS group plasma Hcy level was positively correlated with the carotid artery IMT ( r =0.687,P ＜ 0.01 ).Conclusion The plasma Hcy level is closely related to the occurrence and development of carotid artery atherosclerosis and PIS of carotid artery system,detection of plasma Hcy level helps to predict the occurrence of PIS of carotid artery system and provide an evidence for the therapy decision.

Objective To investigate the correlation of smokers in wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway activation as well as their correlation with lung squamous cell carcinoma incidence.Methods In the Department of Respiratory Medicine of the People's Hospital of Wuhan University,30 cases lung squamous cell carcinoma patients with a history of smoking,30 cases lung squamous cell carcinoma patients with no history of smoking,30 cases bronchiectasis patients with a history of smoking,30 cases bronchiectasis patients with no history of smoking were chose respectively as A group,B group,C group and D group.After the patients were treated by surgery,the removal of diseased tissue used immunohistochemical staining for CD68 + testing,TNF-α,wnt-2,β-catenin and the expression of TCF-4 were measured by using Western blot hybridization method,then wnt-2,β-catenin,TCF-4 transcription of mRNA concentrations were detected by using RT-PCR method.Results Immunohistochemical studies showed that cells in TNF-α,CD68 + expression of A group,B group,C group and D group were respectively 0.895±0.036 and 0.931±0.237,0.125±0.018 and 0.631±0.064,0.083±0.042 and 0.311±0.062,0.053±0.004 and 0.196±0.020,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Westblot test Results showed that wnt-2,β-catenin,TCF-4 expression level showed a gradually decreasing trend,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05),testing of RT-PCR showed that wnt-2,β-catenin,TCF-4 translation level showed a gradually decreasing trend,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Smoking for body wnt/β-catenin pathway has a cell activation,after cigarette activate wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in the incidence of lung squamous cell carcinoma of the body will greatly enhance the smoking crowd wnt/β-catenin signaling transduction circumstances.The detection of wnt/beta-catenin signal transduction in smokers can be used to indicate the occurrence of lung squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture around the diseased region combined with point injection on post-herpetic neuralgia. Methods: Point injection on 30 cases in the related segments of spinal cord after needling around the diseased region. Results: Twenty-seven cases got effect and the total effect rate was 90%. Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with point injection has remarkable curative effect on post-herpetic neuralgia.

Background and purpose:To investigate the clinico- pathological characteristics, prognosis and diagnosis of primary renal sarcoma that is a rare, highly malignant tumor with poor prognosis and survival. Methods:9 cases of renal sarcoma in our hospital were reviewed and analyzed. Nephrectomy was the main treatment for the patients. All the specimens were stained with histochemicial and immunohistochemical method, correlated literatures were also reviewed.Results:The distributions of pathology were malignant fibrous histiocytoma leiomyosarcoma, liposarcoma, myxosarcoma synoviosarcoma. Immunohistiochemical test was essential for the diagnosis of renal sarcoma.Conclusions:Pain and palpable mass were the common symptoms. Early radical surgery remains the optimal treatment, the role of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the treatment modalities of the disease is still controversial.

Background and purpose:Fatty acid synthase(FAS)is a new tumor marker,the high expression of which has been reported to be associated with poor prognosis of cancer patients.This study investigated the expression of FAS in transitional cell carcinoma(TCC) of bladder and its clinical significance.Methods:The expressions of FAS were detected by streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemical method in the paraffin embedded sections of 65 TCC patients and the clinical data had been reviewed.15 normal bladder tissues were used as control group.Results:The positive rate of the expression of FAS in TCC was 58.5%(38/65),while only 2 of 15 cases in control group expressed FAS protein.The difference was statistically significant,the expression of FAS was related to the histological grades and recurrence but not different pathological stages.Survival analysis revealed that the 5-yr survival rate was lower in FAS positive patients than in negative patients(18% vs.44%,P

Objective To study the accuracy and efficiency of video colposcopy in diagnosis of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions and clinical significance of seven colpocopic signs. Methods Two handred and senventy five patients with an abnormal cervical smear or vulva condyloma acuminata were re evaluated by video colposcopy. 265 cervical biopsies performed under the guidance of video colposcopy for pathological study, as well 8 endocervical curettage (ECC) and 237 loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). Results The sensitivity, specificity and positive rate of video colposcopy in evaluation of cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions were 95 9%, 77 7%, and 84 5%. Video colposcopy diagnostic accuracy was 93 8% tally with the pathological results in observing normal transformation zone. False negative rate was 6 1%. 76 2% of cases with subclinical papillomavirus infection by acetowhite epitheliun, while false negative rate was 23 7%. Twin signs, triple signs and cervical carcinoma were 100 0% tallying with the diagnosis of cervical lesions. Conclusions Video colposcopy can be a very accurate diagnostic method in clinical practice. It is quite sensitive in diagnosis of severe cervical lesions. However, there was a relative high false negative rate in diagnosing mild cervical lesions.

The clinical treatment of large-area trauma or intractable wound is very difficult. Finding a suitable wound dressing is very important for wound healing. Stem cells can secrete and express a variety of cytokines necessary for wound healing, and can grow and proliferate for a long time in three-dimensional (3D) scaffold materials to maintain their proper structure and function. A large number of studies have shown that transplanting stem cells-3D scaffold complex into the skin wound in the form of a moist dressing can significantly improve the efficiency of stem cells transplantation, shorten the wound healing time, and reduce scar formation. Stem cells-scaffold complex are likely to be a good wound dressing. This article mainly summarizes the selection of wound dressing and the research status of stem cells-3D scaffold complex as a wound dressing, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of stem cells-3D scaffold complex.

Atopic dermatitis is a recurrent inflammatory skin disease. Although the existing systemic and topical treatment can relieve symptoms, there are still some limitations and adverse effects. In recent years, with the in-depth study on the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis, especially the discovery of key inflammatory molecules and development of targeted therapeutic drugs, some new therapeutic methods and concepts have been brought to clinical practice. Awareness of new progress in atopic dermatitis-related biologics, small-molecule drugs, adjuvant treatment, monitoring methods and models for managing disease, will help clinicians better treat and manage atopic dermatitis.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of tegafur combined with apatinib mesylate in treatment of advanced gastric cancer.Methods:The databases such as PubMed, Cochrane Library, CNKI and WanFang data were searched by computer, and the relevant randomized controlled trials were searched. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to May 2018. After literatures were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the data were extracted and the quality of the included studies were evaluated, meta analysis was conducted by using RevMan 5.3 software.Results:There were 7 studies included in total. Tegafur combined with apatinib mesylate could achieve higher complete remission rate ( RR = 2.00, 95% CI 1.04-3.86, P = 0.04), partial remission rate ( RR = 1.43, 95% CI 1.01-2.03, P = 0.04), and lower inefficiencies rate ( RR = 1.28, 95% CI 1.07-1.53, P = 0.008), but the incidence of adverse reactions such as hypertension was also increased. Conclusion:Tegafur combined with apatinib mesylate in treatment of advanced gastric cancer can achieve better clinical efficacy, but at the same time it can increase the incidence of adverse reactions.

UNLABELLED: The patient chiefly complained about headache and facial pain with recurrent epistaxis during the past two months. The pain started from the teeth and intermittent pinching headache especially on the left side. She also had mild epistaxis which healed itself. Later on the epistaxis became severe which couldn't be easily cured. Her nasopharyngoscopy examination showed a mass in nasopharynx while cranial CT scan indicated a huge mass in nasopharynx with erosion of skull base. Enhanced CT scan showed significant thickness in nasopharynx, upwards which became a huge mass breaking through skull base especially on the left side. Adjacent parapharyngeal space and paranasal sinuses and skull base were widely involved with the enlargement of neck lymph nodes. The chronic mastoiditis, ethmoiditis and maxillary sinusitis were also found. DIAGNOSIS nasopharyngeal nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (T4N2M0 stage IV).
