Leaves of Chrysanthemum morifolium were potential medicinal resource. The present study aims to estimate the main bioactive components: total flavonoids (TF), galuteolin (GA), quercitrin (QU), chlorogenic acid (CA) and 3 ,5-O-caffeoylquinic acid ( CQ), which were considered to be the main effective components, in leaves of C. morfolium cultivars in China. The TF content was estimated hy UV-VIS spectrophotometry, while GA, QU, CA, and CQ were quantitatively determined by HPLC. The highest TF content (7. 13% w/w) was found in cultivar Wan Cong (Shexian county). Cultivar Da Bo ( Bozhou county) had the highest GA content (33. 45 mg - g-1); Cultivar Hong Xin (Sheyang county) contained the highest QU content (29.25 mg · g(-1)); Cultivar Chang Ban (Sheyang county) had the highest CA content (13.14 mg ·(-1)). The maximum CQ content (7.35 mg · g(-1)) was observed in culti- r Da Yang ( Tongxiang county). Different cultivars of C. morfolium had significant difference in components, but the leaf and capitulum of C. morifolium. were found to possess similar chemical compositions. The high content of bioactive components in several cultivars suggested the potential utilization of C. morifolium leaves.

OBJECTIVETo compare therapeutic effects between arthroscopic medial retinaculum plication and plaster external fixation for the treatment of acute patellar dislocation.
METHODSFrom February 2006 to October 2012,29 patients with acute patellar dislocation were divided into two groups: operation group and non-operation group. The patellar dislocation duration was 2 weeks. In operation group, there were 7 males and 10 females, with an average age of (16.2 ± 6.2) years old, and the patients were treated with arthroscopic medial retinaculum plication. In non-operation group, there were 5 males and 7 females, with an average age of (16.3 ± 5.0) years old,and the patients were treated with plaster external fixation. The Kujala scores, patellar tilt angle measured on CT film, apprehension test and recurrence rate of patellar instability were observed before and 1 year after treatment.
RESULTSIn operation group, the pre-treatment and post-treatment patellar tilt angles had no statistical difference, but the post-treatment Kujala score was lower than that of pre-treatment; while in non-operation group, the post-treatment patellar tilt angle was larger than that of pre-treatment, and the post-treatment Kujala score was lower than that of pre-treatment. At 1 year after treatment, the patellar tilt angle (21.2 ± 5.3) of patients in non-operation group was larger than (13.5 ± 3.5) of operation group, and the Kujala score 73.3 ± 10.5 of patient in non-operation group was lower than 84.1 ± 5.6 of operation group.
CONCLUSIONDuring 1 year after operation, arthroscopic medical retinaculum plication is a more effective treatment for acute patellar dislocation compared with plaster external fixation.

AIM: To detect the effects of resveratrol (RSV) on the expression of microRNA-21 (miR-21) in primarily cultured neonatal rat atrial myocytes with electric remodeling induced by rapid electrical stimulation (RES).Furthermore, to find out the possible mechanism of miR-21 regulating electrical remodeling.METHODS: The neonatal rat atrial myocytes were isolated by double-enzyme (trypsin and collagenase I) digestion and differential adhesion method. The atrial fibrillation (AF) model was induced by RES.Atrial myocytes were randomly divided into 4 groups: control group, RSV group, RES group, and RSV+RES group. To further detect whether RSV regulated electric remodeling by miR-21, except the 4 groups, we add miR-21 over-expression group and miR-21 inhibitor group: RES+negative control (NC) group, RES+miR-21 mimics group, RES+miR-21 mimics+RSV group, RES+miR-21 inhibitor group, and RES+miR-21 inhibitor+RSV group. The optimal concentration and pretreatment time of resveratrol were determined by CCK-8 assay. The expression of miR-21 and the mRNA expression of L-type calcium channels CACNA1C and CACNB2 in atrial myocytes were detected by qPCR.The protein expression of L-type calcium channels Cav1.2 and Cavβ2 in the atrial myocytes was analyzed by Western blot.RESULTS: The expression of miR-21 in RES group was significantly increased compared with control group, while preconditioning with RSV decreased the expression of miR-21.Compared with RES+miR-21 mimics group, the expression of miR-21 in RES+miR-21 mimics+RSV group was significantly decreased.Meanwhile, the mRNA expression of CACNA1C and CACNB2, and the protein levels of Cav1.2 and Cavβ2 were increased (P<0.05).Compared with RES group, the expression of miR-21 in RES+miR-21 inhibitor group and RES+miR-21 inhibitor+RSV group was decreased, while the mRNA expression of CACNA1C and CACNB2, and the protein levels of Cav1.2 and Cavβ2 were increased. However, no difference of the expression of miR-21, the mRNA expression of CACNA1C and CACNB2, and the protein levels of Cav1.2 and Cavβ2 among RSV+RES, RES+miR-21 inhibitor and RES+miR-21 inhibitor+RSV groups was observed (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: In AF model induced by RES, RSV may reduce electric remodeling by inhibiting the expression of miR-21 and regulating the downstream target genes.

Local focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor intracellular tyrosine kinase that plays an important role in tumor initiation, development, metastasis and invasion, and is considered to be an important target for the development of antineoplastic drugs. It has both kinase-dependent and non-kinase-dependent scaffolding functions. However, traditional small molecular inhibitors can only inhibit its kinase-dependent activity, so it is difficult to target the kinase-independent scaffolding function. Therefore, there is an urgent need for novel strategies to enhance FAK targeting to lay the foundation for determining the druggability and discovery of FAK inhibitors. Proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) is a new drug development strategy that can recruit E3 ligase to specifically ubiquitinylate target proteins for degradation through the proteasome system. The unique mechanism of action of the PROTAC system could be used to target and degrade the FAK protein, thus eliminating the scaffolding function of FAK. In this review, FAK protein, the signaling pathway, and small molecule inhibitors are briefly described, and the latest research progress in targeting the degradation of FAK using PROTAC technology is summarized.

BACKGROUNDFew literatures pertain to the 16S ribosomal DNA (16S rDNA) analysis of bacteria contributing to primary and persistent endodontic lesions, with no information available for the Chinese population. As such, we investigated endodontic bacteria associated with primary and persistent endodontic lesions in adult Chinese patients living in Beijing, China using 16S rDNA gene sequencing techniques.
METHODSEndodontic microbial samples were obtained from fourteen adult Chinese patients and subjected to DNA extraction. Pllymerase chain reaction (PCR) products were cloned and 100 clones from each generated library were randomly selected. Purified plasmid DNA with 16S rDNA gene inserts was sequenced, and the sequences were searched against GenBank databases using the BLASTN algorithm. Only significant identification with the highest-scored BLAST result and 99% minimum similarity was considered for phylotyping.
RESULTSMore than 150 taxa were obtained. Primary endodontic infection was mainly associated with Burkholderia cepacia, Actinomyces, Aranicola spp. and Streptococcus sanguinis, whilst Burkholderia cepacia was predominant in the persistent endodontic infections.
CONCLUSIONThere is a difference in the species profile associated with endodontic infections of Chinese patients living in Beijing in comparison to other geographical or ethnic reports.

Establishment of quality management system (QMS) plays a critical role in the clinical data management (CDM). The objectives of CDM are to ensure the quality and integrity of the trial data. Thus, every stage or element that may impact the quality outcomes of clinical studies should be in the controlled manner, which is referred to the full life cycle of CDM associated with the data collection, handling and statistical analysis of trial data. Based on the QMS, this paper provides consensus on how to develop a compliant clinical data management plan (CDMP). According to the essential requirements of the CDM, the CDMP should encompass each process of data collection, data capture and cleaning, medical coding, data verification and reconciliation, database monitoring and management, external data transmission and integration, data documentation and data quality assurance and so on. Creating and following up data management plan in each designed data management steps, dynamically record systems used, actions taken, parties involved will build and confirm regulated data management processes, standard operational procedures and effective quality metrics in all data management activities. CDMP is one of most important data management documents that is the solid foundation for clinical data quality.
