1.INFARCTION OF OCCIPITAL CORTEX AND OPTIC RADIATIONS CAUSING ISCHE-MIOPATHY OF POSTERIOR VISUAL SYSTEM (IPVS)
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(02):-
Five male and one female patients with IPVS caused by infarction of occipital cortex and optic radiations of brain were reported. The ages were in the range from 21 to 69 years. The evidence of diagnosis included sudden loss of visual acuity in both eyes, normal fundus, homonymous defect of visual field, infarction of brain in CT scan, without other positive signs of central nervous system or headache or eye pain before or at the time of attack. All the patients were treated by injection of Co- Anisodine Ⅰ and Ⅱ at acupuncture points with satisfactory effects. The therapy is safe, effective, and reliable. The clinical features and the treatment mechanism were disscused.
2.FM100-Hue test measurement for color discrimination in the fellow eye of patients with age-related macular degeneration
Ophthalmology in China 1993;0(03):-
Thirty-six patients with normal vision in one eye coupled with advanced age-related macular degeneration(AMD)in the fellow eye,and 36 eyes with drusen in one eye coupled with macular drusen in the fellow eye,and 36 normal subjects(36 eyes) were measured by FM100-Hue test. All the tesed eyes had corrected vision of 1.0 or better and had drusen in the fundus. The results showed that the total errors score of FM100-Hue test of patients whose fellow eye suffered from advanced AMD compared with that of the patients whose fellow eye did not suffer from advanced AMD,difference between the two groups in the red and panchromatic regions was statistically significant(P
3.Measurement of visual function in early age-related macular degeneration
Ophthalmology in China 1993;0(03):-
Visual function in early age-related macular degeneration (AMD) were observed by contrast sensi-tivity(cs), macular threshold, FM 100-Hue test, dark adaptation, and the Amsler grid. All patients with early AMD achieved corrected visual acuity of 1.0 or better. The results revealed that early AMD showed one or more of following: abnormal macular light sensitivity (MLS), hue discripmination, CS, threshold of dark adaptation, and Amsler grid, comparing with those of the normal controls. These tests proved useful for the early diagnosis of AMD, and their sensitivity was found to be in the following descending order: MLS, FM100-hue, CS, and Amsler grid.
4.Effect of curcumin on the activity of ATPase in U-251 cells
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2003;0(06):-
Objective:To study the effects of curcumin on the activity of ATPase and the mechanism of apoptosis in U-251 cell.Methods:U-251 cells were treated with 20,40,80,100?mol/L curcumin for 24 h and the growth inhibition rates of U-251 cells were measured with MTT method.Cell apoptosis was inspected with flow cytometry(FCM).The activities of ATPase were determined by colorimetry method. Results:Curcumin inhibited the proliferation of U-251 cells and induced apoptosis of U-251 cells.level of ATPase in U-251 plasma Membrane was low remarkably. Conclusion:Curcumin induced apoptosis and inhibited proliferation of U-251 cell via inhibition of activation of plasma Membrane ATPase.
6.Retinal toxicity of repeated intravitreal injection with bevacizumab in diabetic rats
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2011;27(3):240-244
Objective To observe the retinal toxicity of repeated intravitreal injection with bevacizumab(Avastin)in diabetic rats. Methods Forty male Sprague Dawley(SD)rats were randomly divided into normal group(Group A,10 rats)and diabetes mellitus group(30 rats). The rats in diabetes mellitus group were induced with streptozotocin injection for diabetic retinopathy model. And then randomly divided into diabetic retinopathy(DR)group(Group B,10 rats),the rats were not intervened;the left eyes of the other 20 rats were intravitreal injected with bevaeizumab 3 μ1(25 mg/m1)for 3 times as experimental group(Group C);the right eyes of the 20 rats were not intervened as experimental control group(Group D),20 days after last intravitreal injection, retinal function was measured by Flicker Electroretinogram (F-ERG);retinal vascular pattern was determined by fluorescence microscopy of ethidium bromide(EB)stained retinal flat mounts;retinal morphological changes were determined by light microscope on hematoxylin-eosin (HE) stained sections;Thy-1 and VEGF expression was measured by immunohistochemistry staining. Results F-ERG showed that-the differences of a-and b-waves-the b-wave amplitude and the Ops-wave amplitude in the implicit time between group A,B,C and D were significant (F=33.165,36.162,19.955,23.243;P=0.000);the differences of a-wave amplitude between group A,B,C and D was not significant(F=0.097,P=0v961).Retinal blood vessel pattern was normalin Group A;retinal vascular vessels were tortuous and irregularly expanded in Group B:retinal vascular vessels of Group C were regular and thinner than Group A;microaneurysm were showed in Group D.Light microscope displayed that the layers of the rat retina of Group A were regular, the retinal architectures of Group B were irregular, the retinal layers were regular in Group C,the retinal layers were irregular in Group D.Immunohistochemistry staining discovered that Thy-1 and VEGF were mainly expressed in ganglion cell layer(GCL).Conclusion Repeated intravitreal injection of bevacizumab iS toxic tO retina of diabetes mellitus rats.
7.Assessing Liver Fibrosis with Non-Invasive Methods
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(05):-
Objective To assess value and limitations of non-invasive methods in assessing liver fibrosis. Methods By summarized current situation and advancement of serum fibrotic markers, ultrasound,CT and MRI in assessing liver fibrosis,we investigated their value and limitations. Results In addition to diagnosis,non-invasive methods of assessing liver fibrosis assess severity of liver fibrosis. For liver fibrosis,however,non-invasive methods can not monitor effectively reaction to therapy and progression. Conclusion Non-invasive methods play important roles in diagnosis and assessing severity of liver fibrosis, and reduce the need of liver biopsy.
8.Reperfusion strategy for patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in hospitals without PCI facility
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(05):-
Thrombolysis is still an important treatment modality in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in a hospital without percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) facility. However, the optimal treatment after thrombolysis is still unclear. Conservative treatment after thrombolysis was recommended in the past. "Guidelines for percutaneous coronary intervention (2009)" also suggested that the condition of STEMI patients should be evaluated to determine whether the patient should be transferred to a hospital with PCI facility. But this suggestion lacksed evidence-based support. In recent years, several clinical trials suggested that immediate transfer to the nearest interventional centre for PCI was plausible regardless of success or failure in thrombolysis in local hospital, and this might reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events in patients with STEMI.
9.A New Understanding of Extracranial-Intracranial Arterial Bypass for Ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(09):-
There has been no consensus on the efficacy of extracranial-intracranial arterial bypass (EIAB) for ischemic cerebrovascular disease. As an important factor in the pathophysiologic mechanisms of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the changes of cerebral hemodynamics have received attention. The article expounds the clinical significance of EIAB from the point of view of cerebral hemodynamics, particularly presents its preoperative assessment, operative procedures, and efficacy criterion.
10.EXCISION OF EXTENSIVE EYELID MALIGNANT TUMOR AND PRIMARY PLASTIC SURGERY REPAIP
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(02):-
The optimal distance from tumor to incision varied according to the cellular type of the tumor. In each case the cutting edge of the excised tissue was checked with frozen sections for cancer cells. Multiple neighboring skin flaps in full thickness raised from the periosteum were used to cover the large defects (the smallest defect is 25 20mm, the largest one is 75 65mm). The results showed that good cosmetic results were obtained in all cases, visual function was preserved in 35 of the 36 patients, and no recurrence of the tumor was found in 5 years' follow-up. One patient with squamous cell carcinoma that disseminated to nasal cavity and sinuses had a complication of meningitis after the operation, and it was cured with proper treatment.
