1.Change over a period of 9 years in self-reported oral health of a middle-aged population using 4-6th KNHANES data

OBJECTIVES: To explore changes in self-reported oral health in middle-aged Koreans over a period of 9 years. METHODS: This study design was a cross-sectional analysis. This study analyzed the data of 18,845 middle-aged (45-64 years) subjects who participated in 4-6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (KNHANES). A complex-sample chi-square test was used to analyze self-reported poor oral health according to sex, household income, and education. A complex-sample logistic regression analysis was used to identify the changes in the factors. SPSS 23.0 and the R ver. 3.5.1 statistical package were used for the analyses. RESULTS: Poor oral health have been decreased by 5.3% over the 9-year period. Middle-aged men were more likely to report their oral health as worse than women. The lower income and education groups reported their oral health as poor compared to the higher income and education groups. The factors affecting self-reported poor oral health over the 9-year period were sex, income, and education. CONCLUSIONS: More than half of the aged population reported their oral health as poor. Oral health policies should be established for the aged population, including the middle-aged population, for long-term plans.

2.Effect of Incivility Experienced by Clinical Nurses on Job Stress and the Moderating Effect of Self-efficacy.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of incivility experienced by clinical nurses on their job stress, and to identify the moderating effects of self-efficacy on the relationship between job stress and incivility. METHODS: A structured self-report questionnaire was used to measure job stress, incivility and self-efficacy. Data were collected from 140 nurses currently working in three general hospitals of more than 300 beds. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficient, hierarchical multiple linear regression with the SPSS Version 19.0 program. RESULTS: Incivility from supervisors, patients and patients' families showed a significant effect on job stress and self-efficacy had an effect on incivility from patients and patients' families and also incivility from doctors and job stress. These variables have total explanatory power of 46.6% on job stress. CONCLUSION: The results indicate a need to recognize the seriousness and damage of incivility in order to reduce hospital nurses' job stress and to awaken nurses to the relationship of stress and incivility and establish institutional programs to combat incivility. Moreover, there is also a need to improve self-efficacy on the ward through hospital education and coaching.

5.A Delphi Study for Development of Disaster Nursing Education Contents in Community Health Nursing

Purpose:
This study was conducted to develop the contents of disaster nursing education in community health nursing at universities.
Methods:
To validate contents, the Delphi method was used. We categorized two domains(indirect disaster management and direct disaster management) and developed 48 draft items. This study applied two round surveys and 23 experts participated in this study. The content validity was calculated using content validity ratio and coefficient of variation.
Results:
Indirect disaster management domain was composed of three categories including 12 items: 1) Understanding of the disaster, 2) disaster management system, and 3) response by disaster stage and recovery. Direct disaster management domain was composed of nine categories including 30 items: 1) Ethical considerations, 2) communication in disasters, 3) nursing activity by disaster stage, 4) emergency nursing in disasters, 5) patient severity classification in disasters, 6) disaster nursing for vulnerable groups, 7) disaster nursing for victims, 8) psychosocial nursing and health in disasters, and 9) cases of disaster nursing in communities.
Conclusion
This Delphi study identified the contents of disaster nursing education curriculum, and confirmed the validity for disaster education program in community health nursing. Based on the results, it will be helpful for training the disaster nursing and improving the competency on disaster nursing of the nursing students.
6.Diagnosis of varicose veins

Varicose veins refer to tortuous engorged veins on the lower extremities. Although this is a common condition observed in clinical practice, objective diagnosis is important for optimal treatment.Current Concepts: Thorough physical examination is the first key step for diagnosis of varicose veins. Both legs should be examined between the inguinal region and the feet with the patient in an erect position. The presence and location of venous reflux should be confirmed using duplex ultrasonography (DUS), which serves as a simple, non-invasive modality to assess both the anatomy and physiology of leg veins. Reflux is defined as duration of retrograde flow greater than 0.5 seconds in superficial veins, 0.35 seconds in perforating veins, and 1.0 seconds in deep veins. Computed tomography venography can be used in selective cases as a complementary tool to obtain objective images of all varicose veins; however, this imaging modality cannot confirm venous reflux.Discussion and Conclusion: DUS is a key diagnostic tool for varicose veins. However, DUS results are operator dependent; therefore, this procedure should be performed by experienced technologists or clinicians, based on guidelines. The location and duration of reflux should be recorded.

The aim was to develop guidelines for delegating nursing tasks among nurses in integrated nursing care wards.
Methods:
This was a methodological approach. Literature reviews were conducted on delegation policies and practices for nurses in Korea and other countries to explore the area of nursing delegation. Focus group interviews were performed with nurses to identify the strength and weakness of the delegation of nursing tasks in clinical practice, and qualitative content analysis was conducted based on the interview. Ten areas and 115 items were derived through these steps, and their validity was confirmed using the Delphi technique.
Results:
The delegation guidelines of nursing tasks consisted of nine domains, 21 sub-categories, and 101 items, including Nurses and nursing assistants' duties, the necessity of delegation, definition of terms, scope of delegation, considerations for delegation, procedure, characteristics, and principles of delegation, and educational content for delegation.
Conclusion
These guidelines can help nurses to make decisions about delegating nursing tasks according to the delegation procedure.Education on the delegation of nursing tasks is necessary for both nurses and nursing assistants. The guidelines developed in this study can serve as a standard for delegating nursing tasks to ensure patient safety.
