1.Clarify some problems when selecting multifocal intraocular lens
Ophthalmology in China 1994;0(02):-
Recently more and more ophthalmologists selected a multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) for their cataract patient in order to get good unaided reading vision. Although the design of IOL have made a great progress, we are still dissatisfied compared with our natural crystal lens. Understanding the design theory and improving our surgery technique are basic for better utilization the multifocal IOL. Does the multifocal IOL reduce contrast sensitivity? Should we implant the multifocal IOL in pediatric cataract surgery? How can we deal with the residual refractive error after multifocal IOL implantation? In this editorial, we try to clarify these problems to make us select and use multifocal IOL better.

Objective To optimize the extraction process of active phenols from Clerodendranthus spicatus (Thunb) C.Y.Wu (CS). Methods The contents of total phenols, rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, eupatorin and the yield of extract were chosen as indexes. Five methods, including methods of alkaline water extraction, alkaline water extraction with borax, water decoction, warmimpregnation with water and reflux with alcohol were compared. The extracting conditions were optimized by the orthogonal test and the single factor experiment. Results Reflux with alcohol was found to be the best way for phenols from CS. The optimized process was selected. CS was extracted with 50% alcohol twice. The extraction time of each time was 1.5 h. The volume of 50% alcohol was 10 times that of the raw material. Conclusion The optimum process is reasonable, stable and practicable.
7. Intension research on influencing factors of medicinal properties formation of Lonicera japonica and cause hypothesis in explaining medicinal properties of Chinese materia medica single herb
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2020;51(11):3090-3096
The four natures are the basic properties of Chinese materia medica (CMM). At present, it is one of the research hotspots to reveal the scientific connotation of CMM property theory. Clarifying the formation process and influencing factors of the medicinal properties of each single herb in a long historical period is the basic condition for the induction and summary of common characteristics of TCM property theory. Through the textual research of ancient books and documents, combined with the research results of modern Chinese medicine science, this paper combs the influence factors in the formation of the medicinal properties of Lonicera japonica, and reveals its scientific connotation. That is to say, the formation of the medicinal properties of each single herb of TCM is the result of its efficacy material base, the efficacy reflected in the process of clinical treatment and the tendency of clinical medication in previous dynasties. Based on the above research, the cause hypothesis of single herb property is put forward for the first time. The hypothesis provides a reference for the theoretical study of medicine property of TCM.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(06):-
Objective: To study the vitro bioactivity of the Ti-24Nb-4Zr-7.9Sn (TNZS) disks modified by anodic oxidation(AD) and its effects on adhesion of human osteoblast-like MG63 cells. Methods:The TNZS titanium alloy disks were treated with anodic oxidation and the bioactivity was assessed by investigating the formation of apatite on the film surface after soaking in simulated body fluids. The surface composition of the specimens after immersion was evaluated by EDX and X-ray diffraction. MG63 osteoblast-like cells were seeded on the Ti6Al4V,TNZS,AD-TNZS disks, and then the number of attached cells were counted and the cell morphology was examined at each given period. Results:The apatite can form on the treated TNZS disks after soaking in SBF for 6 days. The ratio of attached MG63 on AD-TNZS disks after 60 or 120 min seeding were significant higher than that on other samples and the cells on AD-TNZS disks spread better. Conclusion:The TNZS alloy modified by anodic oxidation can induce apatite formation in SBF and increase the early attachment of osteoblasts.
