A low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor that has a tendency to develop in the deep soft tissue of young adults and the potential for local recurrence or distant metastasis. There have been several case reports and sporadic reports in the literature. However, only 1 case has been reported in Korea but without a follow-up result. We describe a 54-year-old female patient with a low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma of the thigh that had been growing slowly for 34 years. A marginal resection of this tumor was performed. Currently, the patient is doing well without evidence of local recurrence or distant metastasis at 5 years after surgery.

Journal of Korean Medical Science 2003;18(6):914-916
Follicular carcinoma of the thyroid rarely manifests itself as a distant metastatic lesion, and, when present, is usually found in flat bones. A soft tissue metastasis is extremely rare, and synchronous metastases to the bone and soft tissue is not reported in the literature so far. We report such a case of a 42-yr-old male, who presented with a goiter, scalp and forearm soft tissue swellings, and, fine needle aspiration cytology of all these swellings revealed a follicular neoplasm. A wide excision of the forearm swelling was carried out and the histopathology was consistent with features of metastatic follicular carcinoma of the thyroid. The main stay of treatment is surgical resection of the primary tumor. The various modalities of treatment of metastasis is discussed with a review of literature.

Yonsei Medical Journal 2004;45(4):736-738
Palpable axilla mass in woman is relatively rare. Almost all palpable lumps in axilla are axillarys accessory breasts without mass lesion. All diseases develop in breast can also develop in axillarys accessory breasts and other soft tissue mass can occur in axilla. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) is the most common malignant soft tissue tumor, but axillarys MFH is extremely rare. We report our experience with a 75-year-old woman with MFH in axilla, treated with wide excision.

Journal of Korean Medical Science 2002;17(2):276-278
Extraskeletal chondroma can occur in the hands, feet, head and neck. This tumor usually presents as a small solitary nodule. The histogenesis of the tumor is controversial, but some have suggested a metaplastic origin. Chondroma of the fallopian tube is very rare. There is only one report in English literature. The origin of this tumor can be subcoelomic mesenchyme of the tubal serosa or mesenchyme of the myosalpinx. We describe a case of chondroma arising from the serosal surface of the fallopian tube with a review of literature. A 30-yr-old woman visited hospital due to left adnexal mass. On operating finding, 2 x 3 cm sized nodular mass was noted on the left tubal serosal area. The excised mass showed multilobulated appearance covered with thin fibrous membrane. The cut surface was solid, grayish yellow, and myxoid with a focal gelatinous area. The microscopic finding showed islands and elongated lobules of mature benign cartilage without cytologic atypia.
