OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy of Tiaohe Yinyang acupotomy (acupotomy for regulating and harmonizing yin and yang) for knee osteoarthritis (KOA). METHODS: A total of 88 patients with KOA were randomized into a acupotomy group and a sham-acupotomy group, 44 cases in each group. In the acupotomy group, acupotomy was applied at yin side (4-5 high stress points i.e. pes anserinus and terminal of popliteus) and yang side (1-2 high stress points i.e. stimulation point of infrapatellar ligament and suprapatellar bursa) of knee joint. In the sham-acupotomy group, sham-acupotomy was applied at the same points as the acupotomy group. The treatment was given once a week for 2 weeks in the two groups. Before and after treatment, the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities arthritis index (WOMAC) score, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, thickness of medial and lateral collateral ligaments of knee joint, motion range of knee joint and plantar pressure distribution were observed in the two groups. In the follow-up of 3 months after treatment, the WOMAC and VAS scores were recorded in the acupotomy group. RESULTS: After treatment, the sub item scores (pain, stiffness and function) and total scores of WOMAC and VAS scores were decreased in the both groups (P<0.05), pain score, function score and total score of WOMAC and VAS score in the acupotomy group were lower than those in the sham-acupotomy group (P<0.05). Before and after treatment, there were no statistical differences in thickness of medial and lateral collateral ligaments of knee joint and motion range of knee joint between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the plantar medial pressure was increased while the plantar lateral pressure was decreased (P<0.05), and the plantar force line moved medially in the acupotomy group. In the follow-up, the sub item scores and total score of WOMAC and VAS score were lower than those before and after treatment in the acupotomy group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION Tiaohe Yinyang acupotomy can improve the clinical symptoms of knee joint in patients with KOA by changing the local biological stress.

From the perspective of market classification of Cnidii Fructus, this paper revealed the scientific connotation of evaluating the quality grade of Cnidii Fructus by its appearance traits. Thirty batches of Cnidii Fructus in different grades were selected as the research objects. The canonical correlation analysis and principal component analysis(PCA) were used to explore the measurement values of 15 appearance traits and intrinsic content indexes. The results of correlation analysis showed that except the aspect ratio, the 5 appearance trait indexes(length, width, 1 000-grain weight, broken grain weight proportion, and chroma) and 9 internal content indexes(the content of moisture, total ash, acid insoluble ash, osthole, imperatorin, 5-methoxy psoralen, isopimpinellin, xanthotoxin, and xanthotol) showed significant correlation to varying degrees. In addition, there was a significant positive correlation between the first typical variable U_1 composed of appearance traits and the first typical variable V_1 composed of internal content indexes(CR_1=0.963, P<0.01). The results of PCA showed that the classification results of appearance traits for 30 batches of Cnidii Fructus were consistent with the actual information of the samples. Under the same analysis conditions, 30 batches of Cnidii Fructus were reclassified by 9 groups of internal content indexes, and the analysis results were consistent. From the classification standard of the appearance traits of the system study, the statistical results of 6 appearance traits of Cnidii Fructus showed a correlation with grades. There was a good correlation between the appearance and the internal content of Cnidii Fructus, and the appearance quality effectively predicted the level of the internal content. There is a certain scientific basis for the quality classification of Cnidii Fructus by main appearance traits. Appearance classification can replace quality grading to realize the "quality evaluation through morphological identification" of Cnidii Fructus.

OBJECTIVES: Uterine fluid RNA can be used as a test for endometrial receptivity, but there is still no noninvasive sampling method available. The polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) formaldehyde absorbent sponge, a medical bio-absorbent sponge with good water absorption and biophilic properties, can be used to develop a new noninvasive endometrial fluid sampler. This study aims to investigate the toxicity of PVA acetal absorbent sponges on endometrial epithelial cells and its effect on RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq). METHODS: The experimental group using PVA formaldehyde absorbent sponge was prepared into 0.005%, 0.01% and 0.02% (w/v) suspension, and 0.01%, 0.05% and 0.1% (v/v) extract groups. The control group was only the complete culture medium. Nothing was added to the blank group. In vitro cytotoxicity assay was used to evaluate the survival rate of cells. Eight patients underwent in vitro fertilization treatment in the Reproductive Center of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University from November 2019 to January 2020. The uterine fluid of each patient was aspirated. The experimental group was inhaled with sterile PVA formaldehyde absorbent sponge and then immersed RNA-later solution. The control group was directly injected into the same amount of RNA-later solution. RNA-seq and data analysis was performed later. RESULTS: The vitro cytotoxicity assay showed that in suspension groups, there was no significance difference in cell survival between different co-culture time in 0.005% group (P=0.255). In the 0.01% and 0.02% group, there was no difference at each incubation time within 12 h (all P>0.05), but the cell survival rate was decreased at 24 h compared with 0 h (P<0.01, P<0.05). At the same co-culture time, the cell survival of the 3 concentration gradient groups were significantly lower than that of the control group (all P<0.05). The cell viability of the 0.005% concentration group was decreased less than 30% at 24 h, the 0.01% concentration group decreased more than 30% at 12 h, and the 0.02% concentration group was decreased more than 30% at 0 h. For extract groups, there was no significant difference in the survival rate within 6 h in 0.01% concentration group (all P>0.05), and the survival rate of 12 h and 24 h was lower than that of 0 h group (both P<0.01). In 0.05% group, there was no significant difference at each incubation time within 12 h (all P>0.05), but the survival rate at 24 h was lower than that at 0 h (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in survival rate at different culture time in 0.1% concentration group (P=0.082). At the same culture time, there was no significant difference in survival rate between 0.01% group and control group at 0, 3 and 24 h (all P>0.05). Except for 3 h, the survival rate of 0.05% and 0.1% groups was lower than that of control group (all P<0.05), and the decrease was all less than 30%. Uterine fluid RNA-seq showed that there was no significance difference in exonic rate, the detected genes and transcripts of RNA between the experiment groups and the control group (all P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS The in vitro cytotoxic of PVA formaldehyde absorbent sponge on human endometrial epithelial cell meet the national standard of the cytotoxic of medical materials. Sampling the uterine fluid with this material does not affect the RNA-Seq results. PVA formaldehyde absorbent sponge is safe and feasible when appling to the noninvasive uterine fluid sampling and RNA sequencing.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a value clarification program on value clarification in juvenile delinquents. This study employed a two-group pre-post test study design. Data was collected from 16 subjects from Sept. 29 to Dec. 26, 2003 at N middle school in Seoul, Korea. 9 subjects constituted the control, while the experimental group was composed of 7 subjects. METHOD: The structured group therapy used in this study was developed on the basis of Raths et al. (1978) theory. The subjects participated in 10 sessions of therapy that lasted 60 minutes. The instruments used were value clarification Test (Lee, 1988), and SPSS Window. RESULT: The experimental group showed a significant increase in value clarification after their participation in the program. CONCLUSION: Based upon the findings it was concluded that a value clarification program was effective in improving value clarification in juvenile delinquents in the study.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of cognitive behavioral group therapy improving social cognition on the self efficacy, relationship function and social skills for chronic schizophrenia. METHODS: This study employed a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Fifty-two participants were selected from patients with chronic schizophrenia, and they divided into an experimental group(26) and control group(26). Cognitive behavioral group therapy was used as the experimental treatment from March to May. Therapy was administered once a week over 10-weeks. RESULTS: The results showed that compared to the control group, experimental group improved on relationship function and social skills and showed better self-reported self efficacy. CONCLUSION: These results indicated that the cognitive behavioral group therapy improving social cognition is an effective nursing intervention to increase the levels of self efficacy, relationship function and social skills.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have shown that lymph node metastasis only occurs in some mixed ground-glass nodules (mGGNs) which the pathological results were invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC). However, the presence of lymph node metastasis leads to the upgrading of tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage and worse prognosis of the patients, so it is important to perform the necessary evaluation before surgery to guide the operation method of lymph node. The aim of this study was to find suitable clinical and radiological indicators to distinguish whether mGGNs with pathology as IAC is accompanied by lymph node metastasis, and to construct a prediction model for lymph node metastasis. METHODS: From January 2014 to October 2019, the patients with resected IAC appearing as mGGNs in computed tomography (CT) scan were reviewed. All the lesions were divided into two groups (with lymph node metastasis or not) according to their lymph node status. Lasso regression model analysis by applying R software was used to evaluate the relationship between clinical and radiological parameters and lymph node metastasis of mGGNs. RESULTS: A total of 883 mGGNs patients were enroled in this study, among which, 12 (1.36%) showed lymph node metastasis. Lasso regression model analysis of clinical imaging information in mGGNs with lymph node metastasis showed that previous history of malignancy, mean density, mean density of solid components, burr sign and percentage of solid components were informative. Prediction model for lymph node metastasis in mGGNs was developed based on the results of Lasso regression model with area under curve=0.899. CONCLUSIONS Clinical information combined with CT imaging information can predict lymph node metastasis in mGGNs.

PURPOSE: Group-based interventions help the members of the parent group work together to share their parenting stress, provide opportunities for them to support each other emotionally and informatively, and allow them to achieve what they want to accomplish. The purpose of this study is to investigate and synthesize the outcome of a parenting support program for infant and toddler parents. METHODS: Published randomized control trials were identified through Ovid-Medline, Embase and CINAHL DB. Eligible studies include articles published between 2008 and 2018 in English in the randomized controlled trial design in which parenting support programs were implemented for infant and toddler parents group. RESULTS: A total of 11 studies was selected for this review. These programs reported large level of effect size for parenting, and middle level effect size for parent's psycho-social outcomes and child development. There were many programs conducted for parents with infants between 13 and 24 months, and the frequency of programs provided for 2 hours a week was high with 9 to 12 sessions. Most programs were facilitated by trained professionals including nurses and social workers except two programs led by lay persons. CONCLUSION: This review demonstrates that group-based parenting support programs have positive effects on parenting, parent's psychosocial health and infant development. To disseminate the effective group-based parenting support programs, further research is needed to confirm the long term effect and develop nurse's role as a group facilitator.

Group psychotherapy is an important therapy far inpatient treatment. A lot of studies proved the effect of inpatient group psychotherapy. Therefore it is necessary to use group psychotherapy actively for inpatient treatment. There are many models of inpatient group psychotherapy made in foreign counties. But It is difficult to apply those models themselves directly in Korean inpatient unit, and so it is an urgent issue to make an inpatient group psychotherapy model that fits Korean inpatient unit setting. According to this need we made our paper in order to introduce an effective model of group psychotherapy for Korean inpatients in detail, and then to provide opportunity for effective inpatient treatment. The characteristics of this inpatient group psychotherapy model are as follows. 1) This model of group psychotherapy give a field in which a therapist encounter inpatients as a human being. 2) This model is easy to perform generally, and helpful to a comprehensive therapeutic approach for inpatients. 3) In this model heterogeneous inpatients participate in a same one group, therefore this model is able to apply various inpatients. 4) This model makes the basis of continuous outpatient treatment or day hospital treatment, and the basis of outpatient group psychotherapy or individual psychotherapy. 5) Group functions as a social microcosm, and so reveals patient's interpersonal relationship and gives the opportunity to treat it. Therefore group helps patients to be adapted well to inpatient unit and society. 6) In this model, social workers, nurses, or students in practice play a role of healthy egos or observers, and so they can activate group psychotherapy. And this model co be used as a practical and useful tool of the education for psychiatric residents, medical students, social workers, and other students. Psychiatrists seem to be less interested in group psychotherapy than other mental heath practitioners. But it may be appropriate for well trained psychiatrists to use group psychotherapy with individual psychotherapy.
