Korean Journal of Pathology 1996;30(4):358-360
Chromomycosis is a chronic cutaneous fungal infection characterized by the presence of dark brown parasitic forms of fungi in biopsied tissues. It is usually resulted from the entry of the causative organism through a minor trauma, and therefore, most lesions are found on the exposed part of the body, such as limbs or face, and occurrence on the nasolacrimal duct is extremely rare. We report a case of chromomycosis of the right nasolacrimal duct, which was presented with clinical symptoms of nasolacrimal duct obstruction. The patient was a 40 year-old male who had had minor injuries on his left eye twice by paper and branches of the tree two months prior to epiphora in right eye. On dacryocystorhinostomy, right nasolacrimal duct was obstructed by pinkish brown mucoid ball. Microscopically, the mucoid ball revealed eosinophilic, amorphous, necrotic materials admixed with brown pigmented fungi. The organism showed characteristic dark brown, round, thick-walled, often septated, sclerotic bodies and brown pigmented long bead-like hyphae. The adjacent mucosa shows marked chronic nonspecific inflammation with fibrosis.

4.The Effect of a Community-Based Selp-Help Management Program for Patients with Diabetes Mellitus.
Journal of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing 2009;20(3):307-315
PURPOSE: This study was done to assess the effects of a self-help intervention on clinical, lifestyle and psycho-social outcomes in patients with Type II diabetes. METHODS: Eligible adults with Type II diabetes were randomly assigned to either the intervention group receiving the diabetes self-help or the control group receiving usual care. Of the 36 patients who completed the study, 15 were in the intervention group and 21 were in the control group. The self-help group consisted of six weekly sessions covering aspects of diabetes self-care and using continuing education, discussion, and structured social activities. Outcomes included changes in glycemic control, knowledge, self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life. Analysis of covariance was used to compare outcomes between the groups, adjusting for baseline measures. RESULTS: After the six week intervention, significant improvements from the baseline were observed in the measurements of self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life for the intervention group. CONCLUSION: The findings provide preliminary evidence that a diabetes self-help group intervention can benefit diabetes patients in self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life. However, larger longitudinal studies are needed to determine the most efficacious self-management methods to sustain long-term glycemic control and psychological well-being.

Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2014;23(2):106-114
PURPOSE: This is a descriptive correlation study to identify self-esteem, job satisfaction, and turnover intention among ship-building supply workers. METHODS: The subjects were 199 ship-building supply workers at two small & medium-sized ship-building supply companies in K city. The data were collected from March 1st through 31st, 2013. The collected data were analyzed using the SAS program through t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. RESULTS: There was a positive correlation between self-esteem and job satisfaction (r=.29, p<.001), a negative correlation between self-esteem and turnover intention (r=-.20, p<.001). Also there was a negative correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention (r= -.58, p<.001). CONCLUSION: This finding identified that the self-esteem and job satisfaction were an important variable related to the turnover intention. Therefore, organizational managers need to develop strategies for improving workers' self-esteem and job satisfaction to prevent and decrease worker's turnover intention.

Journal of the Korean Society of Pediatric Nephrology 1998;2(2):118-124
We describe cytologic findings of two cases of pilomatrixoma which had been cytologically misdiagnosed as suspicious malignant and malignant lesions in 35 year-old and 22 year-old females who presented a palpable neck mass. The cytologic smears showed many basaloid cells with a high nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, nuclear hyperchromatism and prominent nucleoli, keratinized squamous cells with pyknotic nuclei, foreign body giant cells, and chronic inflammatory cells in necrotic background. Retrospective view of this aspiration smear revealed that these findings were characteristic features of pilomatrixoma, and the evenly distributed chromatin pattern as well as the lack of nuclear pleomorphism were considered to be the differential points from malignant neoplasm. Pilomatrixoma is a benign neoplasm which should be included in differential diagnosis if the fine needle aspiration cytologic smear of a neck mass or subcutaneous mass of any site showed these features.

8.Clinical Nurses' Job Stress, Emotional labor, Nursing Performance, and Burnout in Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Wards and General Wards.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2017;23(3):336-345
PURPOSE: This study was done to identify and compare nursing performance including job stress, emotional labor and burnout between nurses who work in comprehensive nursing care service wards and general wards. METHODS: Participants were 187 nurses working in a general hospital in Busan which provides comprehensive nursing care service (comprehensive nursing care service ward: 95, general ward: 92). Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, χ² test, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in the variables between comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses and general ward nurses. Factors influencing burnout were emotional labor in comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses while job stress and emotional labor were the factors influencing burnout in general ward nurses. CONCLUSION: The findings of this study indicate that comprehensive nursing care service can be a positive delivery system for nurses. Therefore, there is a need for strategies to integrate comprehensive nursing care service systematically.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1990;28(1):112-117
We report a family suffering from Marie Unnas hypotrichosis (8 members affected in 4 generations). At birth they had normal hairs, subsequently loss of hair on the scalp, eyebrow and eyelash. At about 3rd years, coarse twisted scalp hair regrow until puberty when progressive loss from vertex and scalp margin was noticed. On physical examination and lsboratory studies, there was no associated abnormality in the patients. The scanning electron microscopic examination of the affected hair showed cuticular peeling and twisting or angulation of hair shaft.

Annals of Dermatology 2003;15(4):166-168
A Histologic finding of the Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita( CMTC) is non-specific, but dilated capillaries and increased number of vessels are often observed. Capillary hemangioma, mostly represented by strawberry nevus, may show various clinical manifestations. We report a case of Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita, which may be an unusual clinical presentation of capillary hemangioma.
