1.The correlation of uric acid level and the circadian rhythm of blood pressure in hypertensive patients

Objective To investigate the correlation of uric acid(UA) level and the circadian rhythm of blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Methods Among the individuals who presented to the cardiology clinic, 70 patients who had hypertension and were diagnozed with non- dipper hypertension (non-dipper hypertension group) by 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), 70 patients with dipper hypertension patients (dipper hypertension group), and 52 normotensive individuals (control group) were enrolled in this study. Peripheral venous blood samples were collected from all the patients in order to evaluate the hematological and biochemical parameters. All the assessed parameters were compared among three groups. Results The level of UA in non-dipper hypertension group was the highest, in dipper hypertension group was higher and in contrl group was the lowerst:(393.57 ± 53.52), (280.57 ± 41.64), (267.66 ± 59.38) μmol/L, and there were significant differences (P<0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that the level of UA was an independent risk factor for non-dipper circadian rhythm of blood pressure (P = 0.003, OR = 2.26, 95% CI: 1.34- 3.89). Conclusions The higher level of UA may be a risk factor for non-dipper circadian rhythm of blood pressure in hypertension patients.
2.Modeling and simulation of responses from ultrasonic linear phased array.

Phased array transducers are very attractive because the beam generated by the arrays can be electronically focused and steered. The present work characterizes far-field 2D properties of phased array system by functions that are deduced from rectangle source, rectangle line array and phased array based on point source. Results are presented for the distribution of ultrasound intensity on plane xoz and on x-axis by simulation using numerical calculation. It is shown that the shape of response of rectangle line array is modulated by the single array element. It is also demonstrated that the delay time of phased array is the key to steer the beam, sacrificing the value of main lobe and increasing the number of side lobes.

3.Localization and therapeutic effect of bone marrow hematopoietic cell transplantation in rat model of liver fibrosis

ObjectiveTo investigate the localization and therapeutic effect of allogeneic bone marrow hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation in the rat model of liver fibrosis induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). MethodsBone marrow HSCs from allogeneic Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were isolated and cultured in vitro and labeled with 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU) before transplantation. Eighteen female SD rats were randomly and equally divided into groups A, B, and C. A female rat model of liver fibrosis was established using CCl4. The rats in group A were injected with HSC-containing suspension through the caudal vein in the fourth week after CCl4 injection, while the rats in groups B and C were injected with normal saline through the caudal vein. In the eighth week, blood samples were taken from all groups. Then all rats were sacrificed, and the liver, pancreatic, and stomach tissues were collected to examine the localization of HSC and evaluate the therapeutic effect of HSC on liver damage. The double-blind method was used to statistically analyze experimental results. Comparison of continuous data between these groups was made by analysis of variance, and pairwise comparison was made by SNK-q test; comparison of categorical data between these groups was made by Kruskal-Wallis H test, and pairwise comparison was made by Nemenyi test. ResultsGroup A showed significantly improved histopathology compared with group B, while groups A and C showed approximately the same histological findings. There were significant differences in classification of liver fibrosis between groups A, B, and C (χ2=13.14, P=0.001), and groups A and C had significantly lower grades of liver fibrosis than group B (both P<0.05). In group A, BrdU-positive cells were detected in the liver tissues of all rats, but no positive cells were detected in the pancreatic and stomach tissues; no BrdU-positive cells were detected in groups B and C. Compared with group B, groups A and C had significantly lower alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase levels but a significantly higher albumin level (all P<0.05). ConclusionAllogeneic HSC can be localized in the rat model of liver fibrosis and reverse the liver damage.
4.A cross-sectional study on current status of rare disease related health information based on WeChat official accounts in China

Objective:To understand the current status of rare disease related health information release in WeChat official accounts in China.Methods:We used a series of key words containing "rare diseases" and the names of the top 30 rare diseases in hospitalizations in China to search WeChat official accounts. Eligible articles were selected by systematic sampling. All including WeChat official accounts and articles were evaluated to extract the basic information.Results:No relevant WeChat official accounts were found for 14 rare diseases (46.67 %). Most of the WeChat official accounts (52.17 %) were initiated by patients and patient groups. No significant difference was detected in the total number of articles between the official accounts related with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and non-TCM related ones, however, the frequency of the monthly information release was significantly higher in TCM related official accounts ( P<0.001), while the average reading number of articles was significantly higher in non-TCM related official accounts ( P<0.001). Nearly 80 % of the WeChat official accounts had navigation menu, and the average reading number of official accounts with menus was larger than those without menus. The top three topics were rare disease diagnosis and treatment knowledge (46.00 %), public welfare activity for rare diseases (12.81 %) and uncorrelated things (8.65 %), while the first three leading topics were cutting-edge information, public welfare activity and patient story, respectively. Conclusions:The scale for rare disease related health information release based on WeChat official accounts in China has been basically formed, but it is still in development stage. Many improvements should be made in their coverage of rare diseases, release frequency, topic and form. It is urgent to establish or recreate some high-quality WeChat official accounts in order to provide precise information and effectively facilitate the prevention and treatment of rare diseases.
5.Advances in Nucleic Acid Drugs and Gene Therapies based on Animal Models of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe X-linked recessive genetic disorder caused by mutations in the DMD gene, making it one of the most common forms of hereditary muscular dystrophy. The DMD gene, which encodes dystrophin, is the largest known gene in the human genome. Mutations in the DMD gene are highly diverse, including exon deletions, duplications, point mutations, and small insertions or deletions, posing significant challenges for treatment. Currently, there is no cure for DMD, and existing treatment strategies focus primarily on symptom management, which cannot reverse or halt disease progression. Advances in biotechnology position nucleic acid drugs and gene therapies at the forefront of DMD treatment research. These treatments aim to restore dystrophin expression by repairing or replacing mutated genes, thereby improving muscle function or slowing muscle degeneration. Preclinical studies in animal models and early-phase clinical trials demonstrate promising efficacy and offer new hope for DMD patients. This review briefly outlines the pathological mechanisms and genetic characteristics of DMD before delving into recent progress in therapeutic strategies, with a particular focus on nucleic acid drugs (including antisense oligonucleotides for exon skipping therapy and translation readthrough inducers) and gene therapy approaches (including gene replacement therapy and gene editing). The development and application of these therapies not only provide new treatment options for DMD patients, but also offer valuable insights for addressing other genetic disorders. However, numerous challenges impede the clinical translation of DMD treatments. Future studies must optimize existing therapeutic strategies, improve their efficacy and applicability, and explore innovative approaches to deliver more effective and sustainable treatments for DMD patients.
6.Progress in the application of alveolar ridge preservation at extraction sites in non-periodontitis and periodontitis patients

With the popularization and application of implant technology and its good clinical effect, clinicians focus on exploring diagnosis and treatment strategies that can reduce the difficulty and risk of implant treatment, decrease the treatment complications of patients, and improve the surgical acceptance of patients. The technology of alveolar ridge preservation has become the focus of clinical attention. Clinical trials also confirmed that alveolar ridge preservation technology could effectively slow down the absorption of alveolar crest after tooth extraction, so as to maintain the alveolar crest volume shape. Most previous reviews about alveolar ridge preservation focused on surgical procedures, materials application and selection of related procedures. The effect of various causes of tooth extraction on alveolar ridge preservation has not been reviewed. In this review article, the differences between alveolar ridge preservation in non-periodontitis and periodontitis teeth were analyzed histologically and morphologically, so as to provide a decision-making strategies for clinical application of alveolar ridge preservation at various tooth extraction sites.
