1.Evaluation of teaching reform based animation in medical statistics

Objective To study the effect of animation in the course of medical statistics.Methods By convenience cluster sampling,271 undergraduates in two classes were recruited from the specialty of medical image,medical anesthesia and medical laboratory.The experimental group (n =139) and control group (n =132) were set up randomly.The animation design is only used in the teaching process among the experimental group,while traditional teaching method without animation was used in the control group.All participants were surveyed by questionnaire for the effectiveness after one week of the curriculum closure.SPSS 15.0 software was used to do data entry and statistical analysis and two-sample t-test was used to compare the differences in text scores between two groups.Evaluation was made on the courseware of animation in experimental group.P < 0.05 signifies that the differences have statistical significances.Results The test scores in experimental group (79.62 ± 9.34)were significantly higher than those in control group (77.10 ± 9.18; P < 0.05).More than 85 % of the experimental students think animation can stimulate their enthusiasm in studying medical statistics; and help them better understand the key points and main difficulties of the statistical knowledge.Conclusion It suggests that animation can enable students to study better the course of medical statistics.
2.Creative Thinking of Deaf Children and its Related Factors

Objective:To explore the difference in creative thinking and the related factors between deaf children and normal children.Methods:Observation group(n=122)with the hearing disability students were selected from 4 special education schools.Control group(n=122)was come from 2 ordinary primary schools and 2 ordinary middle schools.The two groups were given both the New Creativity Test and the Combined Raven's Test.Results:(1)Deaf children got lower scores than normal children in verbal fluency[(7.76±0.75)vs.(12.98±0.59),P<0.001],verbal flexibility[(4.28±0.33)vs.(7.87±0.28),P<0.001],verbal originality [(7.16±0.89)vs.(11.35±0.72),P<0.001],figural flexibility[(9.69±0.35)vs.(11.10±0.31),P=0.003]and IQ[(101.05±1.196)vs.(105.01±1.102),P=0.030].Deaf children got higher scores than normal children in figural elaboration[(3.24±0.40)vs.(1.96±0.22),P=0.006].There was no significant difference in fluency and originality of figural task between the two groups.(2)Deaf children's scores of verbal fluency and verbal originality were positively correlated with their age(β=0.310,0.301;Ps<0.01).Deaf children's scores of verbal flexibility were positively correlated with length of bilingual education(β=0.308,P<0.001).Deaf children's scores of figural fluency,figural flexibility,figural originalityand figural elaboration were correlated positively with their age of sign language(β=0.321,0.308,0.228,0.456;Ps<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Deaf children are lower than normal children in verbal fluency,verbal flexibility,verbal originality,figural flexibility,and are higher in figural elaboration.There is no difference in figural fluency and originality between them.(2)Sign language is a major related factor to deaf children's figural creative thinking.
3.The Role of CD4 T Cell Help in CD8T Cell Differentiation and Function During Chronic Infection and Cancer

CD4 and CD8 T cells are key players in the immune response against both pathogenic infections and cancer. CD4 T cells provide help to CD8 T cells via multiple mechanisms, including licensing dendritic cells (DCs), co-stimulation, and cytokine production. During acute infection and vaccination, CD4 T cell help is important for the development of CD8 T cell memory. However, during chronic viral infection and cancer, CD4 helper T cells are critical for the sustained effector CD8 T cell response, through a variety of mechanisms. In this review, we focus on T cell responses in conditions of chronic Ag stimulation, such as chronic viral infection and cancer. In particular, we address the significant role of CD4 T cell help in promoting effector CD8 T cell responses, emerging techniques that can be utilized to further our understanding of how these interactions may take place in the context of tertiary lymphoid structures, and how this key information can be harnessed for therapeutic utility against cancer.
4.Effects of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors γ on the expression of insulin receptor substrate-4 gene in rat cortical neurons and mouse brain.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors γ (PPARγ) on insulin receptor substrate-4 (IRS-4) gene expression in the brain.
METHODSPrimarily cultured cortical neurons from E17-18 Sprague Dawley rats, after 1 week of plating, were exposed to 10 µmol/L PPARγ agonist rosiglitazone for 0, 1, 4 or 24 h. Adult C57BL/6J mice or conditional brain PPARγ knock-out mice (B-PPARγ-KO, BKO) received an intraperitoneal injection of rosiglitazone in 10% DMSO at 12 mg/kg or injection of the same volume of saline containing 10% DMSO. The effect of rosiglitazone on the survival of the neurons was examined by MTT assay. The expression of IRS-4 mRNA was analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR.
RESULTSThe survival of the cortical neurons showed no significant difference between the agonist groups and the control group. The expression of IRS-4 mRNA was significantly up-regulated in the cortical tissues and neurons of the agonist groups compared with the control groups (P<0.05), but in BKO mice without treatment, IRS-4 mRNA expression was significantly down-regulated (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONPPARγ can enhance the expression of IRS-4 mRNA in the brain.

5.Status of job burnout and its influential factors in seafarers.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the status of job burnout and its main influential factors in seafarers and to provide a scientific basis for ensuring the physical and psychological health of seafarers and increasing their working performance.
METHODSA total of 1027 seafarers, who underwent physical examination at Fujian International Travel Health Care Center from January to June, 2013, and left and entered China through the Fujian port, were selected. The status of job burnout was investigated using a job burnout scale. A total of 1027 questionnaires were sent out, and 989 valid ones (96.30%) were returned.
RESULTSThe scores of emotional exhaustion and cynicism were the highest in the youngest age group (<30 years), divorced or widowed group, or those with a monthly income per person over 10,000 yuan (P < 0.05). The score of reduced personal accomplishment was the highest in seafarers with a degree of junior high school or less or those with a monthly income per person of 3 000-6 000 yuan (P < 0.05). The highest scores of emotional exhaustion and cynicism were also seen in seafarers with the highest frequency of overtime working, high occupational stress, less than 6 hours' sleep per day, or poor sleep quality (P < 0.05). The highest score of reduced personal accomplishment was also seen in seafarers with the latest sail time lasting for more than six months, low occupational stress, or good sleep quality (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that poor sleep quality and occupational stress were the main risk factors for job burnout in seafarers, while physical exercise was a protective factor.
CONCLUSIONJob burnout among seafarers is influenced by many factors. Therefore, measures should be taken by relevant administrative departments and seafarers themselves to reduce the incidence of job burnout.

6.Impact of malignant cerebellar hemorrhage on prognosis of patients with small amount of spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage

Objective To investigate the effect of malignant cerebellar hemorrhage on 3-month prognosis of small spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage.Methods Clinical data of 380 consecutive patients with spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage admitted in Emergency Department of the Affil-iated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University,Neurosurgery Department of Jinyang Hospital Af-filiated to Guizhou Medical University,and Neurosurgery Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from April 2014 to March 2023 were collected and retro-spectively analyzed,and finally,70 patients who met the requirements of small amount of sponta-neous cerebellar hemorrhage were enrolled in this study.They were assigned into benign cerebel-lar hemorrhage group(43 cases)and malignant cerebellar hemorrhage group(27 cases).Accord-ing to their clinical outcomes in 3 months after onset,they were divided into a good prognosis group(51 cases)and a poor prognosis group(19 cases).General clinical data,imaging data,com-plications,inflammatory indicators and prognosis were collected.After collinear diagnosis was used to exclude factors with collinear influence,the independent correlation between good progno-sis and poor prognosis was analyzed by binary logistic regression model.Finally,ROC curve was plotted to analyze the significant data.Results The maximum diameter of hematoma was signifi-cantly larger in the malignant cerebellar hemorrhage group than the benign group(P=0.021).The patients of the poor prognosis group had larger proportion of malignant cerebellar hemor-rhage,and higher neutrophil percentage,WBC count and NLR than those of the good prognosis group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that malignant cere-bellar hemorrhage was an independent predictor of poor prognosis in 3 months(OR=6.218,95%CI:1.140-17.623,P=0.013).The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative pre-dictive value and Youden index of malignant cerebellar hemorrhage in predicting the 3-month prognosis of patients were 63.2%,70.6%,44.4%,83.7%and 0.338,respectively,and the AUC value was 0.669.Conclusion Malignant cerebellar hemorrhage is an independent predictor of 3-month prognosis in patients with small spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage.The patients with malignant cerebellar hemorrhage have poor prognosis than those with benign cerebellar hemorrhage.
7.Effects of Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation from Haploidentical Versus Matched Sibling Donors on High-risk and Refractory/Relapsed Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of peripheral blood stem cell transplantation from haploidentical and matched sibling donors for treatment of high-risk and refractory/relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Methods Data on the efficacy of haploidentical peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (Haplo-HSCT) with myeloablative conditioning regimen were retrospectively analyzed and compared with that of matched sibling donors' peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (MSD-HSCT) for treatment of high-risk refractory/relapsed AML in our center from January 1st, 2010 to June 30th, 2020. Results A total of 98 patients were enrolled, including 62 patients in the Haplo-HSCT group and 36 patients in MSD-HSCT group. The median age, conditioning regimen, and infusion doses of MNC and CD34+ cells were significantly different between the two groups, but no significant differences in other baseline parameters were found. Transplantation-related infectious complications and the incidence of acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) were also not significantly different between the two groups. 10.Adolescent Breast Fibroadenoma Excision Surgery Assisted by Transaxillary Single-port Gasless Endoscopy:Report of 60 Cases

Objective To explore application value of transaxillary single-port gasless endoscopic-assisted fibroadenomas excision in adolescents.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data of 60 cases of fibroadenoma from June 2019 to June 2023.The patients were 17.3(range,13-19)years old.There were 54 cases of unilateral tumors and 6 cases of bilateral tumors.The average number of tumors was 2.5(range,1-13),and the mean tumor diameter was 4.0(range,3-10)cm.The fibroadenoma excision was performed by using transaxillary single-port gasless endoscopy.Results Of the 60 patients,the average operation time was 64.9(range,35-130)min and the intraoperative blood loss was less than 20 ml.Postoperative complications occurred in 5 cases(8.3%).At 3 months after surgery,the psychosocial well-being scores of BREAST-Q Scale were increased from(79.2±8.9)to(83.4±9.9)(P<0.001).Conclusion Transaxillary single-port gasless endoscopic-assisted fibroadenomas excision is safe and effective for multiple or large fibroadenomas in adolescents,offering minimal invasion and concealed incision.
