Objective To evaluate the feasibility and safety of thoracoscopic radical resection of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients under laryngeal mask anesthesia. Methods A total of 40 patients with NSCLC from March to August 2016 in NanFang Hospital of Southern Medical University were recruited and divided into two groups, the laryngeal mask anesthesia(n=20)and the intubation anesthesia group(n=20). Patients from two groups were followed up. Post-operativerecovery ,systemic inflammation response and quality of life were assessed. Results There was no significant difference between the laryngeal mask anesthesia and the intubation anesthesia group in the operation time ,the lowest oxygen saturation ,the maximum end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure and the surgical field and the satisfaction of anesthesia and blood loss. Post-operative time to eat ,postoperative use of antibiotics , postoperative hospital stay and drainage time were much shorter in the laryngeal mask anesthesia group ,which also had lowerlevel of white blood cells ,neutrophils and C-reactive protein. Patients with NSCLC undergoing laryngeal mask anesthesia had much higher scores in the quality of life evaluation. Conclusion Thoracoscopic radical resectionunder laryngeal mask anesthesia is safe and feasible for NSCLC patients. It has advantages in reducing the systemic inflammatory response ,accelerating the recovery rate and improving postoperative life quality.

In this article, HPLC fingerprint analysis method for total flavonoids from pollen of Brassica campestris L.was established., The HPLC fingerprint was performed on Waters C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm), eluted gradiently with the mixture of acetonitrile and 0.4% phosphoric acid aqueous solution at a flow rate of 0.8 mL·min-1. The column temperature was 40℃. The detection wavelength was 320 nm. The HPLC standard fingerprint of total flavonoids from pollen of Brassica campestrisL. was established, and 16 common peaks were calibrated. The method was simple, stable, and reproducible. It could be applied for quality control of total flavonoids from pollen of Brassica campestris L.

Objective To investigate the consistency in 18F-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG PET-CT) examination and histopathological analyses in the diagnoses of resectable lung tumors. Methods Retrospective reviews over the clinical data of lung tumor patients by preoperative PET-CT diagnosis and postoperative histopathological diagnosis were conducted to investigate the effects of the two diagnostic methods in terms of lung tumor properties , mediastinal lymph node metastasis , and pulmonary hilar lymph node metastasis. Results The diagnoses by preoperative PET-CT was consistent in differentiation of non-malignancy and malignancy of pathologic lung tumors by 87.3%, at a medium level (κ = 0.401, P < 0.001). McNemar test showed P = 0.508, indicating the two diagnostic methods were insignificantly different in the diagnosis of pulmonary tumors. The preoperative PET-CT was consistent in the diagnosis of the metastasis of pathologic mediastinal lymph node by 85.9%, at a medium level (κ = 0.697, P < 0.001). McNemar test showed P =0.754, indicating no significant difference between the diagnostic methods. The preoperative PET-CT was consistent with postoperative pathological examinations in the differentiations of the metastasis of pulmonary and hilar lymph node by 77.4%, at a medium level (κ=0.523, P < 0.001). McNemar test showed P = 0.454, indicating the two diagnostic methods were no significantly different. Conclusion Preoperative PET-CT and histopathologic examinations may be consistent in lung tumor diagnosis , which provides a basis for a certain significance in the surgical options.

Objective:To construct a geriatric comprehensive health evaluation system, and establish the norm of corresponding score. Methods:The methods of Delphi survey was implemented to develop the geriatric comprehensive health evaluation system. The weight coefficients of the items were calculated and assigned according to the expert-graded importance score and Saaty analytic hierarchy process.Reliability and validity of the system were examined.Goodness of fit was evaluated by confirmatory factor analysis. The demarcation norm of geriatric comprehensive health score was established based on an empirical study of 2, 118 non-hospitalized elderly population. Results:During the process of Delphi expert consultation and item analysis, nine items were deleted and two items were added. In the end, the 29-item comprehensive geriatric health evaluation system was developed, which included three dimensions of physiology, psychology, as well as social support and environment. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the evaluation system was 0.709.The exploratory factor analysis-extracted ten common factors meet ten second-level items.Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the goodness of fit of the system was good.Geriatric health status was divided into five grades of very poor, poor, general, good and excellent by 0.5 to 1 standard deviation. The demarcation norm of geriatric comprehensive health score for different age and gender was established accordingly. Conclusions:The reliability and validity of the geriatric comprehensive health evaluation system are satisfactory. The construction of comprehensive health evaluation system and the establishment of the norm can facilitate the quantitative assessment of geriatric health status, and provide a reference for the screening and grading of individual health status in the elderly.

Objective To explore the feasibility and accuracy of using indocyanine green fluorescence (ICGF) to identify the intersegmental plane after ligation of the target pulmonary vein during thoracoscopic segmentectomy. Methods From December 2022 to June 2023, the patients with pulmonary nodules undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic anatomical segmentectomy with intersegmental plane displayed using ICGF after ligation of the target pulmonary vein by the same medical team in our hospital were collected. Preoperative three-dimensional reconstruction was used to identify the target segment where the pulmonary nodule was located and the anatomical structure of the arteries, veins, and bronchi in the target segment. The intersegmental plane was first determined by the inflation-deflation method after the target pulmonary vein was ligated during the operation. During the waiting period, the target artery and bronchus could be separated but not cut off. The inflation-deflation boundary was marked by electrocoagulation, and then ICGF was injected via peripheral vein to identify the intersegmental plane again, and the consistency of the two intersegmental planes was finally evaluated. Results Finally 32 patients were collected, including 14 males and 18 females, with an average age of 58.69±11.84 years, ranging from 25 to 76 years. The intersegmental plane determined by inflation-deflation method was basically consistent with ICGF method in all patients. All the 32 patients successfully completed uniportal thoracoscopic segmentectomy without ICGF-related complications or perioperative death. The average operation time was 98.59±20.72 min, the average intraoperative blood loss was 45.31±35.65 mL, and the average postoperative chest tube duration was 3.50±1.16 days. The average postoperative hospital stay was 4.66±1.29 days, and the average tumor margin width was 26.96±5.86 mm. Conclusion The ICGF can safely and accurately identify the intersegmental plane by target pulmonary venous preferential ligation in thoracoscopic segmentectomy, which is a useful exploration and important supplement to the simplified thoracoscopic anatomical segmentectomy.

Metabolic regulation has been proven to play a critical role in T cell antitumor immunity. However, cholesterol metabolism as a key component of this regulation remains largely unexplored. Herein, we found that the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), which has been previously identified as a transporter for cholesterol, plays a pivotal role in regulating CD8
7.Correction to: Potentiating CD8+ T cell antitumor activity by inhibiting PCSK9 to promote LDLR-mediated TCR recycling and signaling.
