Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(9):1191-1193
Objective To study the protective effects and mechanisms of adenosine on lung ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbit. Methods The rabbit ltng model of ischemia-reperfusion was constructed.Thirty Chinese rabbits were random divided into three groups: Group A (no surgery), group B (ischemiareperfusion) and group C (Adenosine + ischemia-reperfusion). The MDA content,SOD content of the plasma, wet-dryrate (W/D) and the pathology of lung tissue and the index of quantitative assessment of histologic lung injury (IQA) were measured after 60 min reperfusion. Results After 60min reperfusion, the value of W/D, MDA and IQA in group B were significantly higher than those in group A (q = 7. 06,13.71,18. 62, P <0.01), while the concentration of SOD were lower than those in group A (q = 14. 33, P <0.01). In contrast with group B, W/D,MDA and IQA in group C was obviously lower (q =5.23 ,8. 51, 9.99,however, the concentration of SOD were higher than those in group B (q = 7.73, P < 0. 01). In contrast with group A and C ,the expression of CD11b/CD 18 of group B was significantly increased after 60min reperfusion (q =8.59,9.56, P <0. 01). Conclusion Adenosine can prevent ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbit lung in vivo by inhibiting the expression of CD-11b/CD18 on PMNs and dropping oxygen free radicals level.

4. Long-term effectiveness of "West China Classification" guided surgical treatment of desmoid-type fibromatosis in shoulder girdle
Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery 2020;34(6):744-750
Objective: To evaluate the long-term effectiveness of patients received surgical treatment under the guidance of "West China Classification" of desmoid-type fibromatosis (DTF) in the shoulder girdle. Methods: The clinical data of 32 patients with DTF in the shoulder girdle admitted between June 2003 and December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed, including 14 males and 18 females, aged 14-56 years with an average age of 36.8 years. The maximum diameter of the tumor was 7-19 cm, with an average of 11.1 cm. According to the "West China Classification" of DTF in the shoulder girdle, there were 4 cases of region Ⅰ, 3 cases of region Ⅱ, 6 cases of region Ⅲ, 3 cases of region Ⅳ, 5 cases of regions Ⅰ+Ⅱ, 5 cases of regions Ⅱ+Ⅲ, and 6 cases of regions Ⅰ+Ⅱ+Ⅲ. In addition, the involvement of blood vessels and nerves was also taken into consideration for choosing a surgical approach. Finally, 12 cases were operated via anteroposterior approach (group A), 14 via posterior approach (group B), and 6 via combined anterior-posterior approach (group C). The 1993 Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS93) score (including pain, limb function, satisfaction, hand position, hand flexibility, and lifting ability), Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, range of motion (ROM) of shoulder joint (including flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction), and complications of patients in the 3 groups were recorded and compared. Results: All the 32 patients were followed up 30-190 months, with an average of 94.6 months. At last follow-up, complications occurred in 5 cases (15.6%), including 2 cases (16.6%) in group A, 2 (14.3%) in group B, and 1 (16.6%) in group C. There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications among the 3 groups ( P=1.000). Tumor recurrence occurred in 5 (15.6%) cases, including 1 (8.3%) case in group A, 2 (14.3%) in group B, and 1 (16.6%) in group C. No significant difference was found in the recurrence rate among the 3 groups ( P=1.000). At last follow-up, MSTS93 score of pain, limb function, satisfaction, hand flexibility, and hand position in groups A and B were significantly better than those in group C ( P<0.05), even though no significant difference existed between group A and group B ( P>0.05). The lifting ability score in group C was significantly lower than in group A ( P<0.05), and no significant difference was found between other groups ( P>0.05). The JOA score and flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction activities of shoulder in groups A and B were significantly better than those in group C ( P<0.05). The extension activity in group A was significantly better than that in group B ( P<0.05), the flexion activity in group B was significantly better than that in group A ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in other indexes between groups A and B ( P>0.05). Conclusion: Taking a rational approach to fully expose and completely remove the tumor is the key point of surgical treatment for patients with DTF in the shoulder girdle. At the same time, preservation of vital structures and reconstruction of soft tissues should also be taken into consideration. Overall, surgical treatment under the guidance of "West China Classification" of DTF in the shoulder girdle has achieved satisfactory long-term effectiveness.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(5):445-448
Objective:
To evaluate the correlation between electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use and environmental e-cigarette exposure among residents living in Guangzhou City, so as to provide the evidence for the development of the e-cigarette control policy.
Methods:
Permanent university students living in Guangzhou City were recruited as investigators from July to October 2021, and the permanent adult residents in communities where the university students lived were randomly selected as participants. Subjects' demographic features, e-cigarette use, passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising were collected using both online and offline questionnaire surveys, and the association of e-cigarette use with passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising were examined using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 948 questionnaires were allocated, and 874 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 92.19%. The respondents had a mean age of ( 34.96±13.76 ) years. There were 420 men ( 48.05% ), and 426 married residents ( 48.80% ). The prevalence of e-cigarette use was 14.99%, and the rate of e-cigarette use was 23.81% in men and 6.83% in women. In addition, 27.27% of respondents at ages of 35 to 44 years used e-cigarette, 479 respondents viewed e-cigarette advertising ( 54.81% ) and 510 respondents had at least once passive viewing of e-cigarette use ( 58.35% ). Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that a higher frequency of exposure to e-cigarette advertising ( OR: 3.064-5.784, 95%CI: 1.683-12.620 ) and a higher frequency of passive viewing of e-cigarette use ( OR: 2.182-2.349, 95%CI: 1.094-4.526 ) led to a higher rate of e-cigarette use.
Conclusions
E-cigarette use is affected by passive viewing of e-cigarette use and exposure to e-cigarette advertising among community residents in Guangzhou City. Supervision and restriction is recommended for e-cigarette advertising, marketing, and use in public places.

Chinese Journal of Virology 2015;31(5):507-514
For rapid and accurate screening of recombinant modified vaccinia virus Ankara (rMVA) that satisfied the quality standards of clinical trials, a novel shuttle vector that can delete the marker gene automatically during virus propagation was construted: pZL-EGFP. To construct the pZL-EGFP, the original shuttle vector pSC11 was modified by replacing the LacZ marker gene with enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) and then inserting homologous sequences of TKL into the flank regions of EGFP. Baby hamster kidney (BHK)-21 cells were cotransfected with pZL-EGFP and MVA, and underwent ten passages and one plaque screening to obtain the EGFP-free rMVA carrying the exogenous gene. Resulting rMVA was tested by polymerase chain reaction and western blotting to verify pZL-EGFP function. A novel shuttle vector pZL-EGFP containing an EGFP marker gene which could be deleted automatically was constructed. This gene deletion had no effect on the activities of rMVA, and the exogenous gene could be expressed stably. These results suggest that rMVA can be packaged efficiently by homologous recombination between pZL-EGFP and MVA in BHK-21 cells, and that the carried EGFP gene can be removed automatically by intramolecular homologous recombination during virus passage. Meanwhile, the gene deletion had no influence on the activities of rMVA and the expression of exogenous target gene. This study lays a solid foundation for the future research.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2011;46(12):1488-92
In the present study, an ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with time-of-fight mass spectrometry (UPLC-TOF/MS) based chemical profiling approach was used to evaluate chemical constitution between co-decoction and mixed decoction of ginseng and Radix Aconiti Praeparata. Two different kinds of decoctions, namely co-decoction of ginseng and Radix Aconiti Praeparata: water extract of mixed two herbs, and mixed decoction of ginseng and Radix Aconiti Praeparata: mixed water extract of each individual herbs, were prepared. Batches of these two kinds of decoction samples were subjected to UPLC-TOF/MS analysis. The datasets of t(R) m/z pairs, ion intensities and sample codes were processed with supervised partial least squared discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) to holistically compare the difference between these two decoction samples. Significant difference between the two decoction samples was showed in the results of positive ion mode. The contents of hypaconitine and deoxyaconitine decreased, while that of benzoylmesaconine, benzoylhypaconine and dehydrated benzoylmesaconine increased in the samples of co-decoction of ginseng and Radix Aconiti Praeparata. The content of diester-diterpenoid alkaloids decreased, while that of monoester-diterpenoid alkaloids increased, which is probably the basis of toxicity-attenuated action when combined ginseng with Radix Aconiti Praeparata.

Objective To analyze the clinical data, including clinical features, treatment, and prognosis,in patients with different kinds of pituitary adenomas. Methods In this retrospective study, 746 cases were included. The characteristics of general epidemiology, clinical symptoms, pathology, imaging, treatment, and prognosis were analyzed. Results Clinical features were different among various pituitary adenomas. Symptoms caused by mass effect and hormone abnormality were expresssed in varying degrees. Serum prolactin>121.28 μg/L can differentiate the prolactin adenoma from the other huge tumor causing hyperprolactinemia due to the mass effect. There is significant relationship between the size and the various types of pituitary adenomas ( P<0.01 ),also between the size and the invasive capability ( P<0.01 ). Conclusions The pituitary adenomas may have their specific epidemiological, clinical, pathological, and imaging features, due to the distinct biological behavior. It is necessary to do the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis evaluation individually.
