Objective To compare the result of percutaneous or open drainage for muhilocular bacterial liver abscess. Methods The clinical data of 45 patients with multilocular bacterial liver abscess were reviewed retrospectively over the past 5 years. Twenty-one cases underwent B-us or CT-guided pereutaneons drainage (PD) and 24 received surgical drainage (SD) as the first-line treatment. The treatment outcomes in both groups were compared, and clinical end-points included time to defervescence, failure of treatment, secondary procedures, hospital stay, morbidity, and mortality. Results The time of defervesecnce was not statistically different between the two groups (4.85 day vs. 4.38 days, P>0.05). However, patients in SD group suffered from less treatment failures (2 cases vs. 9 cases, P<0.05), less requirement for secondary procedures (1 cases vs. 11 cases,P<0.01), and shorter hospital stay (8 day vs. 11 days, P<0.05). There was no difference in morbidity or mortality rates between the two groups. Conclusions It was concluded that for multilocular liver abscess, SD provides better clinical outcomes than PD in terms of treatment success, number of secondary procedures, and hospital stay with comparable morbidity and mortality rates. SD should be considered as first-line treatment for multilocular bacterial liver abscesses.

Hyperlipidemia pancreatitis in children is mostly genetic metabolic disease. The incidence of acute pancreatitis in children is only (3-13)/100 000, and pancreatitis caused by hyperlipidemia accounts for 9% of acute pancreatitis.A child suffering from V-type hyperlipidemia pancreatitis was admitted to the Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University in July 2019.The missense mutation at position c. 2770G>A of CFTR gene (nucleotide 2770 in coding region changed from guanine to adenine) in children was detected by gene sequencing, thus resulting in amino acid change p. D924N.It is extremely rare to report that CFTR gene mutation causes hereditary pancreatitis, and there is no literature report on c. 2770G>A site. This case is reported as follows, hoping to provide reference and inspiration for pediatricians.

Objective To explore the growth and developmental parameters and behavioral characteristics of rhesus monkeys during the first year of birth and to establish the background data. Methods A total of 18 (♂=11,♀=7 ) infant rhesus monkeys born from individually caged mothers and with known genetic background and postnatal days were monitored monthly for body weight, body height, head circumference, chest circumference, forelimb length, hind limb length, crown-rump length, tail length and anal-genital distance from postnatal day ( PND) 1 to 360, while hematology, blood chemistry and lymphocyte subsets were examined on PND 28, 175 and 360, and finger maze test was carried out on PND 208.Results The body weight showed linear growth with no significant difference between genders (P>0.05). Except for the anal-genital distance of male infants was significantly greater than that of female infants ( P<0.01 ) , no significant differences were observed between sexes in other morphological parameters. No significant differences of hematology were seen between genders (P >0.05).Compared with that at PND28, TP and BUN were significantly increased (P<0.01) while ALP decreased with no significant difference (P>0.05) at PND 175 and 360.Compared with that at PND28, CD4 +and CD4 +/CD8 +were significantly decreased ( P<0.01) while CD8+significantly increased ( P<0.01) at PND175 and 360.The number of sessions to solve task 2 in learning test was significantly greater than other tasks with females significantly less than males ( P<0.05) .The females had higher correct rate than males in the 2-day random memory test (P<0.05).Conclusions Body weight and morphological parameters show a linear growth. The PND.The RBC, HGB, LYMPH, TP, BUN, ALP, CD4 +, CD8 +and CD4 +/CD8+in hematology, blood chemistry and lymphocyte subsets show relevant changes to the growth and development of organs and systems in infants, which should be highly concerned in drug evaluation. The finger maze test indicates that female infants have better reversal learning and long-term memory than male infants. Background data and behavioral characteristics of infant rhesus monkeys during the first 12 months of birth are established in this study, which provide useful reference and support the evaluation of developmental and reproductive toxicity of drugs in rhesus monkeys.

With an increasing proportion of sedentary lifestyle related chronic diseases, an efficient way to help fight the growing world epidemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and promote public health in a fast-changing world is urgently needed. Exercise and medicine science have played an important role in prevention and control of NCDs. However, the current status and future development directions regarding the integration of exercise science and medicine (IESM) in China have not been well discussed. During 2017 Belt and Road Initiative Global Health International Congress & 2017 Chinese Preventive Medicine Association-Chinese Society on Global Health Annual Meeting, Xi'an Jiaotong University Global Health Institute, and the Integration of Sport and Medicine Innovation Research Center, China Institute of Sport Science organized the IESM Forum on September 27. Six leaders and experts from China and abroad presented excellent research reports in the IESM Forum from several aspects. Experts reached a consensus at the end of their discussions that, in the near future, the IESM will be a key part of a sustainable health care system and as such should contribute to prosperity in China and around the world. However, Abstract compared with European, American and Japanese universities, the development of the IESM in China is in its early stages with huge development potential.

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of carotid webs and prevention measurements of cerebral ischemic stroke caused by carotid webs. Methods:The clinical data of three patients with carotid webs admitted to our hospital from October 2017 to January 2019 were retrospectively studied, and publications (208 patients with carotid webs) reported from January 1, 2014 to June 30, 2019 in PubMed, Embase, Wanfang and CNKI databases were collected. The demographic and clinical characteristics of carotid webs and secondary prevention measurements of ischemic stroke caused by carotid webs were analyzed. Results:A total of 211 patients with carotid webs were enrolled, including 68 male (32.2%) and 143 female (67.8%), with an median age of 48 years. Prevalence of risk factors for cerebrovascular disease reported in 148 patients was as follows: hypertension ( n=43, 29.1%), dyslipidemia ( n=19, 12.8%), diabetes mellitus ( n=14, 9.5%), and smoking ( n=12, 8.1%); 89.8% of carotid webs(44/49) caused mild stenosis of carotid artery (stenosis degree<50%). In secondary stroke prevention, the recurrence rate of stroke patients treated with anticoagulation plus antiplatelet was obviously lower than that of patients treated with antiplatelet alone (11.1% vs. 49.3%). No ischemic stroke or surgical complications were noted in 23 patients underwent carotid endarterectomy and 54 patients underwent carotid stent implantation during the mean follow-up period of 12 months (one-60 months) and 11 months (3-144 months), respectively. Conclusions:Carotid web may be a vital risk factor for cryptogenic stroke. Anticoagulation plus antiplatelet is superior to antiplatelet alone in preventing stroke recurrence. Carotid endarterectomy and carotid stent implantation may be the perfect choices for carotid web patients with high risk of stroke recurrence.
9.AIDS discrimination in junior college students and the effect of AIDS knowledge on discrimination
Chinese Journal of School Health 2020;41(2):209-212
Objective:
To analyze the situation of AIDS knowledge and discrimination among freshmen in Chengdu city, and to explore possible effects of AIDS knowledge on discrimination.
Methods:
A cluster random sampling was employed to investigate 1 053 college students from 11 universities in Chengdu about their HIV/AIDS knowledge and discrimination. The scores of AIDS knowledge and discrimination of students with different characteristics were analyzed, and the influence path of AIDS knowledge on AIDS discrimination were further analyzed based on different peer relationships.
Results:
The total scores of AIDS knowledge was negatively correlated to AIDS discrimination( r s =-0.13, P <0.01). After adjusting for confounding factors, the total score of AIDS knowledge was associated with the total score of AIDS discrimination( β =-0.12, P <0.01). AIDS knowledge played a role in AIDS discrimination in intimate, general and unfamiliar peer relationships, with standardized path coefficients of -0.20, -0.24 and -0.18 respectively( P <0.01).
Conclusion
AIDS knowledge are correlated with discrimination among freshmen under different peer relationships. More anti-AIDS discrimination courses should be added to AIDS education to reduce the students’ fear and stigma of HIV/AIDS patients and related risk groups.
