The development and progression of gastric cancer is a multi-factor,multi-gene,multi-stage and multi-approach sequential process.Phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN)is so far the first discovery of a dual specificity phosphatase activity of the tumor suppressor gene,which regulates the cell cycle and multiple signaling pathways of gastric cancer and plays an important role in the development and progression of gastric cancer.Further studies on PTEN will provide a new way for the early diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of gastric cancer.

Although digital subtraction angiography (DSA) has been used as the gold standard for the diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms, its clinical use is somewhat limited by its invasiveness, high medical cost and potential risk of nephrotoxicity. For the past three decades, the magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) techniques have been developed rapidly. As a non-invasive technique with high resolution ability, MRA can replace DSA for the diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms in most clinical situations. The time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA) carries a diagnostic sensitivity of up to 98.2%-98.7%for tiny intracranial aneurysms (<5 mm), while the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of contrast enhanced MRA (CE- MRA) for intracranial aneurysms are as high as 95% - 100% and 73% - 100% respectively. The diagnostic specificity of phase-contrast MRA (PC-MRA) for intracranial aneurysms (> 5 mm) reaches as high as 100%. All the above mentioned MRA techniques can clearly display the intracranial aneurysms although their imaging characteristics and clinical applications are different from each other. This paper aims to make a brief review concerning the principles, clinical applications and recent progress of some MRA techniques.

Objective To set up the quality standard of TCM preparation Qingfei pill. Methods TLC methods were used to the qualitative identification of Fructus Termininaliae Immaturus and Radix Sophorae Subprostratae in the preparation. The content of Gardenoside, the effective component of Fructus Gardeniae, was determined by HPLC method, using Agilent Eclipse XDB-C18 (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) and acetonitrile-water (10∶90) as mobile phase with flow rate at 1.0 mL/min. The column temperature was room temperature, and the detection wavelength was 238 nm. Results The TLC methods for Fructus Termininaliae Immaturus and Radix Sophorae Subprostratae identifications were simple and rapid, and showed good repetitiveness. Gardenoside presented a good linear relationship within the range of 0.238-3.808 μg, and the average recovery rate was 97.24%, RSD was 1.60% (n=6). Conclusion These methods showed strong specificity and good repetitiveness, and can be used to control the quality of the product effectively.

Objective To determine the expression of TM4SF1 mRNA in 5 human pancreatic cancer cell lines,and investigate its effect on the proliferation,migration and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells.Methods The expression of TM4SF1 mRNA in MPanc96,MiaPaCa-2,PANC1,AsPC-1,HPAC cells was determined by qRT-PCR,and the results were compared with that of human pancreatic ductal epithelial (HPDE) cells.RNA interference method was used to transiently transfect siRNA targeting at TM4SF1 and negative control siRNA into MPanc96,MiaPaCa-2 cells.The proliferation of cells were measured by MTS method,and migration and invasion of cells were determined by Transwell.Results The expression levels of TM4SF1 mRNA in pancreatic cancer cell lines MPanc96,MiaPaCa-2,PANC1,AsPC-1 and HPAC were 1.205 ± 0.073,1.096 ± 0.260,1.382 ± 0.075,1.374 ± 0.363 and 0.744 ± 0.096,which were significantly highly than that in HPDE (0.020 ± 0.003,P ＜ 0.01).Compared with cells transfected with negative control siRNA,the proliferation of MPanc96 and MiaPaCa-2 cells transfected with siRNA targeting at TM4SF1 was not significantly changed,but the migration abilitiy was decreased by (62.5 ± 7.6) ％ and (72.8 ± 4.0) ％,and invasion abilitiy was decreased by (69.5 ± 5.7) ％ and (78.6 ± 6.3) ％.Conclusions TM4SF1 is highly expressed in pancreatic cancer cells and appears to promote the migration and invasion abilities of the cancer cells.

Objective To assess the value of functional magnetic resonance urography (fMRU)for the unilateral renal function in children with hydronephrosis.Methods Fourteen children with congenital hydronephrosis (unilateral hydronephrosis in 1 2 cases,bilateral hydronephrosis in 2 cases)examined by fMRU in Beijing Children′s Hospital,Capital Medical University,were enrolled.In 7 patients of them,diuretic renal scintigraphy (DRS)was per-formed within 1 0 days before fMRU examination.The following parameters in fMRU,as renal parenchymal volume,volu-metric differential renal function (vDRF),Patlak,Patlak differential renal function (pDRF),index of glomerular filtra-tion rate (GFR)and differential renal function based on index of GFR (gDRF),were calculated and analyzed.Statisti-cal analysis was performed by using SPSS 1 3.0.Results In 7 cases whose fMRU and DRS were examined,the indexes of GFR obtained from fMRU and GFR from DRS were well correlated (r =0.892,P <0.001 )in 1 4 kidneys.The gDRF determined by 2 methods on the left kidneys[the average was(46.80 ±1 9.20)% and(45.1 8 ±20.29)%,respective-ly]had no significant difference (t =0.051 6,P =0.624),which was also highly correlated (r =0.91 2,P =0.004). In 1 2 cases with unilateral hydronephrosis,vDRF,pDRF,index of GFR and gDRF in hydronephrotic side[(43.54 ± 9.61 )%,(42.80 ±1 0.83)%,(38.56 ±29.23)mL/min,(38.37 ±1 3.61 )%]were all less than those in the con-tralateral side[(56.46 ±9.61 )%,(57.1 9 ±1 0.83)%,(57.02 ±26.22)mL/min,(61 .63 ±1 3.61 )%](t =2.326, 2.300,2.422,2.960;P =0.040,0.042,0.034,0.01 3).However,there was no statistical difference in both renal pa-renchymal volume and Patlak between the hydronephrotic and the contralateral side kidneys(t =1 .765,1 .450;P =0.1 05,0.1 75).Conclusions fMRU is a very valuable examination method in evaluating single kidney function in children with congenital hydronephrosis,and able to demonstrate that gDRF,indexes of GFR,vDRF and pDRF decrease in the hydronephrotic kidney.

Objective To analyze the clinicopathologic data and operative parameters of 209 elderly co-lon cancer patients treated by radical resection between January 2002 and December 2011 ,and to investigate the factors related to recurrence and metastasis after colon cancer radical resection in elderly patients .Methods We used univariate and multivariate analysis of Cox regression ,including 14 variables:age,gender,disease duration, hospitalization duration,surgeon experience,operation duration,laparoscopicsurgery,tumor location,tumor size, gross morphology ,differentiate degree ,depth of bowel wall invasion ,lymph node involvement and obstruction .The survival curve was obtained by Kaplan -Meier method.Results Univariate analysis showed that tumor size (RR=2.658,P<0.0001),gross morphology(Infiltrating type,RR=3.407,P=0.0054),degree of differentiation (RR=0.32,P<0.0001) were associated with tumor relapse and metastasis .Multivariate analysis showed that gender(RR=0.585,P=0.0359),tumor size(RR=2.364,P<0.0001),degree of differentiation (Infiltrating type,RR=0.246,P=0.0437),gross morphology(RR=0.31,P<0.0001)were the significant factors.Conclu-sion Gender,tumor size,degree of differentiation,gross morphology were the independent factors of recurrence and metastasis of colon cancer after radical resection in elderly patients .Targeted follow -up for high -risk groups will improve patients′life quality and prolong their survival time .

Two kinds of gel materials were prepared from silk fibroin with polyepoxy compound at subfreezing temperature and higher temperature. In order to evaluate the feasibility of their application in biomaterials, we tested the cytotoxicity of silk fibroin gels by detecting the effect of the extracted liquid on the cell relative proliferation rate of L-929 mouse fibroblasts. The results indicated that both of the gel materials displayed high relative proliferation rate and grade 1 cytotoxicity, being in the allowed range of medical application. The cytotoxicity tests on polyepoxy compound and glutaraldehyde were conducted too, and the cytotoxicity of polyepoxy compound was obviously lower than that of glutaraldehyde. Polyepoxy compound can be used as a more safe cross-link reagent for silk fibroin modification.

Recent researches about the application of silk fibroin in cell culture suggested that silk fibroin displayed high rate of cell attachment and growth in vitro culture of most kinds of cells, equivalent to collagen. So silk fibroin can be used for cell scaffold material of tissue engineering, and can be applied to several fields such as tissue engineering of skin, cartilage and blood vessel. The related researches and the prospect of the application of silk fibroin in cell scaffold of tissue engineering are reviewed in this paper.

Objective:To explore the influence of rosuvastatin in the lipid levels, atherosclerosis plaque and apoptosis in the plaque of atherosclerotic apolipoprotein E (ApoE)-knockout mouse models, and to clarify the mechanism of rosuvastatin in inhibiting atheromatous plaque and apoptosis in the plaque.Methods:Thirty healthy six-week old male mice were randomly divided into high fat diet group (n=10),rosuvastatin group (n=10)and general diet control group (n=10).The mice in first two groups were fed with high fat diet,and the mice in general diet control group were fed with general diet;4 weeks later the mice in three groups were respectively given 0.9% NaCl solution,rosuvastatin (10 mg·kg·d-1 )and 0.9% NaCl solution by gavage for 8 weeks.And then ELISA was used to detect the serum lipid levels,the area of atherosclerotic plaque was measured by HE staining, and the apoptosis in plaques was detected by TUNEL method;the expression of apoptosis-assoicated gene Bax protein was measured by immunohistochemical staining.Results:Compared with high fat diet group,the levels of total cholesterol (TC)and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)of the mice in rosuvastatin group were significantly decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01),and the 1evel of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)was significantly increased (P<0.01).The aortic atherosclerotic plaque of the mice in high fat diet group was massive with a great quantity of foam cells, cholesterol crystal, necrotic cells and inflammatory cells in the plaque;the aortic atherosclerotic plaque of the mice in rosuvastatin group was smaller with less foam cells,necrotic cells and inflammatory cells;the aortic atherosclerotic plaque area of the mice in rosuvastatin group was significantly smaller than that in high fat diet group (P<0.01);the apoptotic index in the aortic atherosclerotic plaque of the mice in rosuvastatin group was significantly lower than that in high fat diet group (P<0.01).Compared with high fat diet group,the expression of Bax protein in rosuvastatin group was significantly decreased.Conclusion:Rosuvastatin may inhibit the progression of atherosclerotic plaque and the apoptosis in plaques through mitochondrial pathway.

Based on the intermolecular interaction, a molecularly imprinted polymer electrochemical sensor with specific identification of cavity on gold electrode surface was proposed with o-aminophenol as functional monomers and morin as template molecule. The performance and effect of MIP were investigated by cyclic voltammetry ( CV) and differential pulse voltammetry ( DPV) . Factors affecting the properties of sensor, such as polymeric membrane ratio, scanning cycles, elution time and adsorption time were investigated. Substances which had a similar structure to morin was used to compared the selective response. The result showed that the sensor had a good selectivity to morin. Under the optimized experiment conditions, the current response of the imprinted sensor was linear to the concentration of morin in the range of 0 . 05-1 . 7 μmol/L with linear equation as follows: I(μA)= 1. 0800lgc(mol/L)+ 9. 3599(R=0. 9934), and the detection limit of 0. 1 μmol/L. The sensor was used to determine the content of morin in black tea samples, and the recoveries of standard addition were between 104 . 0% and 108 . 0%.
