OBJECTIVE:To study the antioxidant activity in vitro of neutral polysaccharides and its graded component from 3samples of white ginseng and red ginseng. METHODS:The decoction method was used to extract the crude polysaccharides fromwhite ginseng,100 ℃ and 120 ℃ processed red ginseng;the crude polysaccharides were further separated through ion exchangecolumn to extract neutral polysaccharides;Sephadex G-75 gels filter column was used to grade the neutral polysaccharides accordingto the molecular weight, antioxidant activity in vitro of 9 samples in 3 neutral polysaccharides and were detected by DPPH andOH free radical scavenging test and reduction capacity test(FRAP value),and vitamin C was used as positive control. RESULTS:The 3 neutral polysaccharides all obtained component Ⅰ and component Ⅱ after grading. Neutral polysaccharides and its gradedcomponent showed certain antioxidant activity in vitro in a certain concentration range, and increased by concentration increasing. The activity of neutral polysaccharides and component Ⅱ from 120 ℃ processed red ginseng was the strongest,of which 50% inhibitoryconcentration(IC50)on DPPH free radical was 0.258 g/L and 0.253 g/L,on OH free radical was 7.157 g/L and 6.845g/L,FRAP values were 2.8 and 3.0 mmol/L(when concentration was 1.2 g/L),respectively. CONCLUSIONS:The antioxidant activityin vitro from 120 ℃ processed red ginseng is higher than that of 100 ℃ processed red ginseng and white ginseng,in whichcomponent Ⅱ makes important contribution to the antioxidant activity.

In order to study whether patients with schizophrenia have cerebral injury, neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and myelin basic protein (MBP)in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of 33 patients with first episode schizophrenia and 9 from the control group were determined by double antibody sandwich enzyme immunoassay method. The results showed that there was significant difference in the NSE contents between the experimental group and control group (P<0.01). The NSE contents in CSF in the experimental group were positively correlated with MBP in schizophrenia patients (P< 0. 05). These findings suggested that patients with schizophrenia had cerebral injury.

Objective To study the epidemic characters and tendency of HIV/AIDS (Human immunodeficiency virus/ Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) from serologic check results. Methods 36 021 specimens of suspected clinical cases and routine cases before surgery in Xinjiang Urumqi Uiger Municipal People's Hospital were detected from 2001—2004. At first, these cases werescreened by ELISA(Enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay) , then ascertained by desease-control center and AIDS surveillance systems through WB , HIV RNA were estimated by the application of RT-PCR , CD cell were counted with flow cytometry.Result Prevalence figures have risen sharply from 1999—2001 and increased steadily since 2002 , the positive rates of anti-HIV were 0.714%(259 cases) . 38 percents cases were female (97/259), female ratio had the increasing trend and 3 cases were found as intrauterine infection . 80% cases were adolescent(16 year old to 35 year old) , 85.6% cases were Uiger minority , 94% and 67.7% cases were drug abuse through vein and non-occupation respectively.83.3% and 8.69% cases were found in north and south of Xinjiang respectively. The positive rates of virus nucleic acid were 50% , in which 76%(19/25) were 104~105 cop/ml. CD4,CD8,CD4/CD8 were all abnormal,CD4/CD8 ratio decreased to 96%,The number of CD4 cells was remarkably reduced 56%; while CD8 cells was significantly rised 60%;Inpatients increased gradually. Among them , 80% cases were dead due to infection , 16.7% surgical cases were fracture spontaneously. Conclusion The serologic detection of anti- HIV , HIV RNA , CD cell counts had confirmed AIDS episode later ; The progress was more rapidly;infectious rate of female was increased and followed intrauterine infection in Xinjiang. The numbers of episode and death were in growth stage , antivirus therapy were imperative.

Objective :
To investigate the occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens among medical workers in a tertiary general hospital in Hangzhou City from 2010 to 2022, so as to provide the evidence for improving occupational protective measures among medical workers.
Methods:
The registration and follow-up data of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens among medical workers from 2010 to 2022 were collected from the blood-borne occupational exposure monitoring system in a tertiary general hospital in Hangzhou City. The population distribution, occurrence, protection and disposal of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens were analyzed using a descriptive epidemiological method.
Results:
A total of 1 230 cases were reported with occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens among medical workers in the study hospital from 2010 to 2022, with the highest incidence in 2021 (4.67%) and the lowest incidence in 2010 (0.99%). The incidence of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens appeared a tendency forwards a rise from 2010 to 2022 (P<0.05). Of all cases with occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens, there were 934 women (75.93%), 656 nurses (53.33%), and 514 cases with working experiences of one year and shorter (41.79%). Hand was the predominant site of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens (92.03%) and ward was the predominant place of exposure (35.37%), while scalp needle was the predominant mode of exposure (32.68%), and removal of needle was the predominant procedure of exposure (32.36%). A total of 1 106 cases were tested for the blood-borne pathogens in the exposure sources, and 448 cases were tested positive for blood-borne pathogens, with a detection rate of 40.51%. Hepatitis B virus, treponema pallidum and human immunodeficiency virus were the three most common blood-borne pathogens, and there were 739 cases (60.08%) with personal protective equipment during exposure. Following the follow-up surveillance for more than 6 months post-exposure, no infections occurred.
Conclusions
Junior nurses and hand exposure were predominant among medical workers with occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens in the study hospital from 2010 to 2022, and hepatitis B virus was the predominant blood-borne pathogen. No post-exposure infections occurred.
