Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of serum intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1),soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)and high sensitive C-reactive pro-tein(hs-CRP)in the patients with plasma cell mastitis(PCM).Methods 45 cases of PCM and 45 persons un-dergoing healthy physical examination in the Zaozhuang Municipal Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from August 2015 to February 2017 were selected and served as the PCM group and control group. The ex-pression levels of serum CAM-1,sICAM-1 and hs-CRP were detected in the two groups. Then the results were statistically analyzed. Results The vascular endothelial cell ICAM-1 level in the PCM group was slightly low-er than that in the control group, while the ductal endothelial cell ICAM-1 level was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the levels of serum sICAM-1 and hs-CRP levels in the PCM group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference was statisti-cally significant(P<0.05).The ductal endothelial cell ICAM-1,sICAM-1 and hs-CRP levels after treatment in the PCM group were significantly lower than those before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of serum ICAM-1,sICAM-1 and hs-CRP is closely correlated with PCM disease, can serve as the effective indicators for its clinical judgment and is worth promotion and applica-tion.

Objective To investigate the effect of berberine on proliferation of neural stem cells(NSCs)induced by hydrogen peroxide(H2O2). Methods NSCs from Sprague-Dawley rats were isolated and purified by suspension culture. Cells were divided into a control group,H2O2group(NSCs exposed to H2O2injury),berberine group(NSCs were incubated with berberine concentrations ranging from 0.5 to 20 μmol/L and exposed to H2O2), and DAPT(a blocker of the Notch signaling pathway)group. Cell viability was evaluated using the Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. Proliferation of NSCs was evaluated by a neurosphere formation assay and Ki67 protein expression. Expression of key proteins in the Notch signaling pathway(including notch1 and hes1)in response to berberine treatment or DAPT(a Notch inhibitor)was determined by Western blotting. Results Cell viability of NSCs was significantly increased by berberine compared with the H2O2group. The neurosphere growth assay showed that 5 or 10 μmol/L berberine increased NSC proliferation. The ratio of Ki67 +/DAPI cells and notch1 and hes1 protein expression increased significantly compared with the H2O2group. Conclusions Berberine treatment upregulates Notch signaling in NSCs,whereas DAPT attenuates these effects. Berberine is a drug that promotes NSC proliferation and exerts a protective effect on NSCs via the Notch signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the correlation between mild cognitive impairment (PD-MCI) and serum homocysteine (Hcy) in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods 85 patients with PD (43 with PD-MCI,42 with PDN) as the observation group and 43 healthy elderly patients as the control group. The demographic information, clinical and neuropsychological assessments were conducted and the Hcy of fasting venous blood were detected in all subjects. The I-Icy level and its associated factors were also analyzed in the PD group. Results Serum levels of Hcy in the PD patients((13.53±2.29) μmol/L) were higher than those in the HC group((11.77±1.56) μmol/L),the difference was statistically significant (t=4.57,P <0.05).There was significant difference in serum Hcy levels among HC group,PDN group ((12.85 ± 1.88) μmoL/L) and PD-MCI group((14.22±2.47) ±mol/L) (F=16.13,P<0.01).Hcy level of the PDN group was higher than that of the HC group (P<0.05),and PD-MCI group was higher than PDN group (P<0.05).Serum levels of Hcy in patients with PD-MCI were significantly associated with UPDRS-Ⅲ (r=0.305),H-Y (r=0.313),LEDD (r=0.424),MMSE (r =-0.470),MoCA (r=-0.503),duration of connection test B (r =0.617) and semantic fluency tests (r=0.557) (all P<0.05).Conclusion Elevated serum Hcy levels are expected to be biomarkers for predicting PD-MCI.

Objective To study the effect of scenario case based learning for nurse-patient communicationon empathy of un-dergraduate nursing students. Methods The undergraduate nursing students who had completed the basic nursing courses and the course of"communication in nursing"were enrolled as participants.Seventy-two students recruited in 2013 were assigned as the control group, where only individual guidance was given before taking examination;while eighty-nine students recruited in 2014 as the inter-vention group, where a self-compiled Collection of Scenarios for Nurse-Patient Communication was given when they were preparing for the final examination and the students were required to give their own communication plans based on the scenario cases from the collec-tion.The two groups were compared in view of empathy. Result The intervention group were better in empathy ability assessment, with statistically significant difference (P<0.001). Conclusions The scenario case based learning for nurse-patient communication makes up for the shortcomings of traditional teaching methods. It encourages nursing students to think from the patients'perspective and improves the empathy ability of students.

Objective:
To investigate the methods for qualitative pathological assessment of dynamic changes in liver fibrosis/cirrhosis after antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), since antiviral therapy can partially reverse liver fibrosis and cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B and semi-quantitative, rather than qualitative, pathological assessment is often used for the research on liver fibrosis regression.
Methods:
Previously untreated CHB patients with liver fibrosis and cirrhosis were enrolled, and liver biopsy was performed before treatment and at 78 weeks after the antiviral therapy based on entecavir. The follow-up assessment was performed once every half a year. Based on the proportion of different types of fibrous septum, we put forward the new qualitative criteria called P-I-R classification (predominantly progressive, predominantly regressive, and indeterminate) for evaluating dynamic changes in liver fibrosis. This classification or Ishak fibrosis stage was used to evaluate the change in liver fibrosis after treatment and Ishak liver inflammation score was used to evaluate the change in liver inflammation after treatment.
Results:
A total of 112 CHB patients who underwent liver biopsy before and after treatment were enrolled, and among these patients, 71 with an Ishak stage of ≥3 and qualified results of live biopsy were included in the final analysis. Based on the P-I-R classification, 58% (41/71) were classified as predominantly progressive, 29% (21/71) were classified as indeterminate, and 13% (9/71) were classified as predominantly regressive; there were no significant differences between the three groups in alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, albumin, HBeAg positive rate, HBV DNA, and liver stiffness (
