International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;36(2):153-155
Objective To explore the therapeutic thoughts of treating subclinical hypothyroidism. Methods By retrieving the clinical reports of western medicine on subclinical hypothyroidism in the past 10 years and the researches of traditional Chinese medicine on this disease to summarize the best therapeutic methods of subclinical hypothyroidism. Results The levothyroxine sodium,as a replacement therapy in Western medicine, may led to subclinical hyperthyroidism and has few final benefit.Traditional Chinese medicine with the functions of warming and nourishing spleen and kidney had good therapeutic results in treating subclinical hypothyroidism, and had no adverse reaction. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine maintain the balance of thyroid function by regulating the Yin and Yang and the internal organ functions of the human body.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;17(1):41-43
Objectives: To study the treatment outcome of mucoepidermoid carcinoma(MEC).Methods:128 cases of MEC with definite pathologic diagnosis treated in our hospital during the past 15 years were investigated. The relationship between the effects of the therapy and the prognosis was analysed.Result:Treatment with surgical operation only was used in 99 cases, radiotherapy after operation was applied in 26 cases and follow-up was carried out in 76 cases. 5-year survival rate was 90.7%.5 patients who died within 5 years after operation were all with the diagnosis of MEC in clinical stage Ⅳand poor differentiaton. Conclusion:The local extensive excision for the well differentiated MEC,the radiotherapy after operation for poorly differentiated or that of clinical stage Ⅳ,especially in maxilla, may increase 5-year survival rate.Since there were cases of recurrences of MEC 13 years after surgical treatment,long-term follow-up is necessary.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of thrombolysis combined with prostaglandin El (PGE1) in the treatment of patients with acute pulmonary thromboembolism (APTE).Methods According to the digital table,88 patients with APTE corresponding to thrombolytic therapy were randomly divided into the simply thrombolytic group(49 cases) and the joint PGE1 group(39 cases). The simply thrombolytic group were given conventional thrombolysis, and the joint PGE1 group were given thrombolysis combined PGE1 therapy. The levels of PaO2,PaCO2,pulmonary artery systolic pressure(PAsP),cardiac troponin I(cTNI),B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) were monitored, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated. Results After the treatment, the levels of PAsP,cTNI,BNP of the joint PGE1 group were better than those of the simply thrombolytic group(t =2.173,2.349,2.495,all P <0.05).The clinical effective rate of the joint PGE1 group was 82.1%,which was significantly higher than that of the simply thrombolytic group (59.2 %) (χ2 =5.339,P < 0.05).The critical event occurrence of the joint PGE 1 group was 7.7 %,which was significant lower than that of the simply thrombolytic group (24.5 %) (χ2 =4.333,P < 0.05).Conclusion Thrombolysis combined PGEI therapy may be more effective in reducing pulmonary artery pressure, protecting myocardia, improving the right heart function than only thrombolysis, and thus improve clinical symptoms and short-term prognosis in the APTE patients.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of electrophysiological examination for tarsal tunnel syndrome (TTS).Methods Motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV),sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV),F wave and electromyographic measurements were carried out with 26 clinically suspected TTS patients. Results Of the 26,22 patients were unilaterally affected and 4 were bilaterally affected,so 30 tarsal tunnels in total were affected. All received electrophysiological examination.Of the 30 affected tarsal tunnels, abnormal MCV was detected in 28 of the posterior tibial nerves (93.3%),while abnormal SCV was detected in 27 medial plantar nerves (90%) and 24 lateral plantar nerves (80%).Needle electromyography of 156 targeted foot muscles detected abnormal spontaneous potentials in 90 of them (57.7%),giant potential in 12 muscles (7.7%) and decreased recruitment in 76 (48.7%).Conclusions The distal posterior tibial nerve is impaired in TTS,presenting axonal damage in an electrophysiological examination.Such examinations should have an important role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of TTS.
6.EFFECT OF PHOSPHATE ON COLICIN V FORMATION BY STRAINS OF ESCHERICHIA COLI

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
ColV~+ strains of Escherichia coli produced larger inhibitory zones when these strains grown on nutrient agar containing phosphate after overlaid sensitive indicators. This appears that production of colicin V is increased by the addition of phosphate to nutrient agar. It was sure that stimulation of phosphate to colicin V formation results from its effect in reducing divalent cation levels in nutrient agar since adding EDTA to nutrient agar had the same effect as phosphate, but the addition of Mg~(2+) or Ca~(2+) had the oppsite effect. Therefore nutrient agar supplemented with phosphate can be used to isolate and identificate ColV~+ strains of E. coli.

Objective To study the clinical effect of nourishing kidney, securing essence and cooling blood on incipient diabetic nephropathy. Methods A total of 110 patients with incipient diabetic nephropathy were randomly recruited into a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group was treated with the method of nourishing kidney, securing essence and cooling blood and benazepril hydrochloride tablets. The control group was treated with bcnazepril hydrochloride tablets Exclusively. Urina microalbumin was detected in all patients 24 h before and after treatment. Results The effective rate was 94.7% and 86.8% in the treatment group and the control group respectively, showing significant difference (t= 9.31, P<0.01) . Conclusion The method of nourishing kidney, securing essence and cooling blood is effective to decrease urina microalbumin in incipient diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To design an instrument that can provide a series of pulse to stimulate cell by means of external electric field, the structure and function of organism can retrieve. Methods AVR MCU, produced by America ATMEL Co., is used as the core of the system. The program has been developed to adjust three pulse's parameters, including amplitude, frequency and pulse duration. The cooperation between DAC and OP completes the transformation from monopole pulse to bipolar pulse. The booster PB50 amplifies the current and voltage of the output. Results The Stimulator can provide bipolar pulse, amplitude: up to ?40V, frequency: 0.01Hz -10Hz, pulse duration: 0.4ms -24ms. Conclusion Cooperating with special electrode board, the instrument can provide effective electric field for cell simulating. At present the instrument has been used in the research of the endothelial progenitor cell.

Objective To observe the promoting effect of hypoxia on proliferation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) and maintaining their potential of multi-directional differentiation in vitro. Methods BMMSCs were isolated from bone marrow blood samples of patients with bone fracture, and cultured under hypoxic (group A) or normoxic (group B) conditions. The morphology, proliferation and osteogenic and adipogenic potential of the BMMSCs were observed. Results BMMSCs in the group A showed a long spindle shape and a fish shoal-like distribution, and were well-grown, while the morphology of cells in the group B appeared polygonal or flat. The quantity and growth rate of BMMSCs in the group A were increased compared with the group B (P< 0.05), with an osteogenic and adipogenic potential. Conclusions Hypoxia can promote the proliferation of BMMSCs in vitro and maintain their multi-directional differentiation potential.
