OBJECTIVETo investigate whether the genistein can increase the radiosensitizing effect on laryngeal squamous carcinoma Hep-2 cells.METHODS Hep-2 cells were treated with genistein, radiation, and genistein plus radiation respectively. DMSO was used as the control group. EdU assay was performed to assess the short-term effect of genistein and (or) radiation on the proliferation of Hep-2 cells. Clonegenic assay was used to detect the survival rate of Hep-2 cells after treatment with radiation doses of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy and radiation combined with genistein. The data was fitted into the classic single-hit multi-target mathematical model to analyze the long-term effect on cell proliferation death of Hep-2 cells.RESULTSIt was observed that radiation combined with genistein could significantly inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 cells. And the SER of 10μmol/L genistein was 1.412.CONCLUTIONGenistein can inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 cells by DNA synthesis inhibition, and can be an adjunct agent of radiotherapy.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To observe the structure and formation of plaque. Methods: A 1 mm in heigth and 3 mm in diameter plastic ring was adhered to enamel slice, then the enamel slices with plastic rings were adhered to right maxillary first molars in order to establish the model of dental plaque. The specimens of dental plaque for 1 day, 5 days and 9 days were serially sectioned and were imaged by TEM. Results:The TEM results showed that there were few microorganisms in early plaques, mainly of which were coccus. With the time went on, the kind and quantity of the microorganisms became more, and bacilli and hyphomycetes also appeared. In mature plaques, there were fence-like structure with coccus in center and bacilli and hyphomyceters at both sides, in which some bacteria went to necrosis. Conclusion:The ultrasrtucture of this dental plaque model was similar to nature's with a certain extent values.

Objective To evaluate the nursing effect of warming feeding formulation of the enteral nutrition associated diarrhea in the critically ill tube-fed patients. Methods A total of 60 patients with enteral feeding were enrolled and divided randomly into the warming group and the room temperature group with 30 cases in each group by random digits table method. The room temperature group received room temperature oral feeding by nutrition pump. The warming group used nutrition pump and heating rod was placed on the nutritional tube 50 cm far from patient's nose. A semi-quantitative scale based on stool volume and consistency was used for daily assessment of diarrhea. Results Patients were tube-fed for a mean duration of (11.20±2.98) and (10.93±2.69) days, respectively in the room temperature group and the warming group. There was no significant difference in these two groups (U=425.000, P > 0.05). The diarrhea score was 4.88 ±3.41 in the room temperature group and 5.51±4.44 in the warming group. There was no significant difference in these two groups (U=436.500, P > 0.05). The diarrhea per total feeding days was 10.42%(35/336) in the room temperature group and 16.24%(51/314)in the warming group. There was no significant difference in these two groups (χ2=4.862, P < 0.05). Conclusions The airtight enteral nutrition does not need warming when it is infused with the enteral nutrition pump at room temperature.

Objective To investigate the effect of different reference transducer positions measurement on intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) in ICU patients. Methods 31 cases of patients in ICU in need of measuring IAP were studied from January 2015 to July 2015 in this study. In each patient, transvesical and the direct methods were both used to measure IAP. Three sets of IAP measurements were obtained in the supine position, using the different reference levels and kept as IAPpubis, IAPmidax, IAPphlebostatic. The results were compared using Spearman rank correlation, paired t test and Bland–Altman statistics. Results When symphysis pubis was uesd, the result of direct method was (9.82±4.01) mmHg, the result of indirect method was (8.77 ± 4.48)mmHg (P<0.05), the correction between two methods was 0.967, P<0.05. When midaxillary level was uesd to measure, the result of direct method was (11.74 ± 4.71) mmHg, the result of indirect method was (11.65 ± 4.63)mmHg, the correction between two methods was 0.972, P=0.10. When phlebostatic was uesd, the result of direct method was (10.98 ± 4.65) mmHg, the result of indirect method was (10.38 ± 4.75)mmHg, the correction between two methods was 0.970, P<0.05. The calculated bias between IAPmidax and IAPpubis was 2.9 mmHg, 95%agreement of limits was (-0.8-6.5) mmHg, and the maximum difference value was 11 mmHg. The calculated bias between IAPmidax and IAPphlebostatic was1.3 mmHg, 95%agreement of limits was-1.4-4.0 mmHg, and the maximum difference value was 4.2 mmHg. Conclusion In supine position, the value obtained via the bladder can reflect the true IAP, and the symphysis pubis or phlebostatic axis reference lines are not interchangeable with the midaxillary level.

Cancer Research and Clinic 2009;21(6):393-395
Objective Verification of the serum proteomic fingerprints of NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) patients related to their advantage in Gefitinib therapy. Methods 27 NSCLC patients who have been treated with Gefitinib for more than 1 month and attained certain efficacy were taken for examination. They were divided into 3 groups, CR+PR, SD and PD, according to the evaluation criteria of solid tumor curative efficacy. All patients received SELDI (SELDI-TOF-MS surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry technique) inspection before treatment with Gefitinib. The shifting procedure was based on the abundance of the fingerprint :"M/Z 8693 50H+". According to the abundance of this fingerprint founded, the patients were divided into 4 populations: 1. The advantage population (10 patients, abundance 10 %);2. The disadvantage population (7 patients, abundance≥30 %);3. Suspected population A (5 patients, abundance 11%-15 %);4. Suspected population B (5 patients, abundance 16~ 29%). The ratio of patients in each of the 3 groups (CR + PR, SD and PD) into each of the above 4 populations were analyzed. Results It showed that: 1. In the advantage population, the ratio dispersed from CR + PR group is 9/10, those from SD group is 1/10 and from PD is 0.2. In the disadvantage population, the ratio dispersed from CR + PR group is 1/7, those from SD group is 1/7 and from PD is 5/7. In the suspected A group, the ratio from CR + PR group is 3/5, those from SD group is 1/5 and from PD is 1/5. 4. In the suspected B group, the ratio from CR + PR group is 3/5, those from SD group is 1/5 and from PD is 1/5. Conclusion This fingerprint "M/Z 8693 50H+" with abundance 10% after SELDI inspection is the index choosing advantage patients suitable to receive Gefitinib therapy.
