Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(03):-
Objective: To study the effect of cementation materials on the fracture resistance of metal free premolar Artglass crown. Methods: Thirty extracted human maxillary premolars were regularly prepared for cementation. Artglass crowns were cemented onto the teeth with zinc phosphate cement (ZnP), glass ionomer cement(GIC)or a resinous cement in combination with a dentinal bonding agent. Each of the cementation material was applied in 10 premolars. Artificial crowns were vertically loaded until the Artglass crowns compressed to failure. Significant differences of fracture loads between experimental groups were assessed by paired t test. Results: The fracture load(N) of ZnP, GIC and resinous cement were 1 743.1 ?383.4, 1 682.4?613.7 and 2 226.9?270.1 respectively( P

Objective:To study the function of ectomesenchymal stem cells(EMSC) in periapical tissues regeneration. Methods:Tissue engineering technique was applied to compose EMSC-ceramic bovine bone for repairing of a Sprague-Dawley rat model of the periapical tissues defects. Results were observed by HE staining. Results:New pulp-cement like structures were formed and the result of experimental group was better than that of control group. Conclusion: EMSC participates in the process of the periapical tissues regeneration.

OBJECTIVETo investigate whether the genistein can increase the radiosensitizing effect on laryngeal squamous carcinoma Hep-2 cells.METHODS Hep-2 cells were treated with genistein, radiation, and genistein plus radiation respectively. DMSO was used as the control group. EdU assay was performed to assess the short-term effect of genistein and (or) radiation on the proliferation of Hep-2 cells. Clonegenic assay was used to detect the survival rate of Hep-2 cells after treatment with radiation doses of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy and radiation combined with genistein. The data was fitted into the classic single-hit multi-target mathematical model to analyze the long-term effect on cell proliferation death of Hep-2 cells.RESULTSIt was observed that radiation combined with genistein could significantly inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 cells. And the SER of 10μmol/L genistein was 1.412.CONCLUTIONGenistein can inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 cells by DNA synthesis inhibition, and can be an adjunct agent of radiotherapy.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To observe the structure and formation of plaque. Methods: A 1 mm in heigth and 3 mm in diameter plastic ring was adhered to enamel slice, then the enamel slices with plastic rings were adhered to right maxillary first molars in order to establish the model of dental plaque. The specimens of dental plaque for 1 day, 5 days and 9 days were serially sectioned and were imaged by TEM. Results:The TEM results showed that there were few microorganisms in early plaques, mainly of which were coccus. With the time went on, the kind and quantity of the microorganisms became more, and bacilli and hyphomycetes also appeared. In mature plaques, there were fence-like structure with coccus in center and bacilli and hyphomyceters at both sides, in which some bacteria went to necrosis. Conclusion:The ultrasrtucture of this dental plaque model was similar to nature's with a certain extent values.

BACKGROUND: There are many species of ceramic bonding systems supplied in market, the mechanical strength is aprerequisite condition for resin cement in clinical use.OBJECTIVE: To study the difference of mechanical strength between Panavia F resin cement and self-made resin cement,DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A controlled observational study was performed in the prosthesis laboratory of the FourthMilitary Medical University of Chinese PLA between May 2006 and March 2007.MATERIALS: Panavia F resin cement was sourced from KURARAY MEDICAL INC. (Japan), experimental resin cement wasproduced by College of Stomatological Medicine in the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA.METHODS: Five cylindrical compressive strength specimens at an 8-mm height and 4-mm diameter were prepared, as well as5 cylindrical diametral tensile strength specimens at a 3-mm height and 6-mm diameter. AGS-500 universal material testingmachine was applied to detect the compressive strength and diametral tensile strength.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The diametral tensile strength test and compressive strength test of the specimens.RESULTS: The compressive strength of Panavia F resin cement was remarkably higher than that of experimental cement[(238.92±24.54), (149.08±12.13) M Pa, P < 0.05]. There were no significances between two resin cements on diametral tensilestrength (P> 0.05).CONCLUSION: There were no significance between two resin cements on diametral tensile strength following completecuring. The compressive strength of experimental resin cement can reach the standard of ADA (> 70 MPa) although it is lowerthan the compressive strength of Panavia F resin cement.

BACKGROUND: It remains unclear whether ectomesenchymal cells also derived from neural crest stem cell in mammals.OBJECTIVE: To understand the specific markers and differentiation directions of maxillofacial and mandibular processes progenitor cells, and to explore the source and differentiation phenotype of ectomesenchymal stem cells.METHODS: The expression and changes of expression profiles of rat ectomesenchymal cells at E9.5,E10.5,E11.5,and E12.5days were observed by immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The progenitors expressed multi-lineage markers, including neural system and several rnesenchymal tissue types, importantly the facts that molecule profiles were changed with time prolonged, suggesting these progenitors were in active differentiating stage,so they were stem like cells or contain stem like cells. Moreover, small populations(2%-3%)of CD57 and P75 phenotypes were detected by flow cytornetry, suggesting that ectomesenchymal stem cells were derived from neural crest, which maintained a quantitative stabilization though it is gradually differentiate after localization.
