Objective To observe two main subtypes of MAPK family-ERK and JNK activation in HSCs and investigate the effects of the serum of Radix Salviae Militiorrhizae treated animals on the activation of ERK and JNK in HSCs. Methods HSCs were cultured in vitro. After the model of hepatic fibrosis was replicated in SD rats, Radix Salviae Militiorrhizae decoction was given via gastrogavage to the rats of treatment groups to obtain serum containing the drug. The dose was 10 times of dose per kg per day for adults in 2 divided doses for 6 consecutive days, while the same volume of 0.9% NaCl was given to the rats of non-treatment groups. on the 7th day, the routine dose was orally given again; the blood sample was drawn from the vena cava after 2 hour; the serum was isolated and inactivated with water bath at 56℃; finally, the serum was filtered to eliminate bacteria. Just before using the serum, RPMI-1640 culture medium was added to prepare culture media of 10% drug-containing serum, which was incubated with the subcultured HSCs. The experiment was divided into the following groups: A: serum of extracted from normal rats; B: medicated serum of RSM extracted from normal rats; C: serum from CCl_4-induced liver fibrosis rats; D: medicated serum of RSM extracted from CCl_4-induced liver fibrosis rats. After 24h incubation with above every group serum which were added blindly to HSCs, P-ERK and P-JNK were detected by Western blot respectively. Results Both RSM Pharmacological serums decreased P-ERK and P-JNK in HSCs significantly compared with controls (P

Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(02):-
This paper reports the effects of the polysaccharide from Sargassum fusiforme (SFPS) on contents of lipoid peroxide (LPO) and enzyme activities of glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GSH - PX), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) in whole blood, liver and spleen in leukemia L615 mice. The results show that SFPS remarkably reduces the contents of LPO and increases in the enzyme activities of CAT , SOD in whole blood, liver and spleen in leukemia L615 mice. The authors point out that SFPS may remove the free radicals in the body of leukemia L616 mice and have an effect against lipid peroxidation. This may be one of the mechanisms of SFPS against leukemia.

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to assess the effects of desensitizing toothpaste containing stannous fluoride on dentine hypersensitivity by performing Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) involving the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity with stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste.
METHODSThe study was developed based on the Cochrane handbook for systematic reviews of interventions (Version 5.1.0) and included the following: search strategy, selection criteria, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. We searched electronic databases such as CNKI, CBM, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library up to January 2015. RCT of treating dentine hypersensitivity with stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste were included. Data extraction and domain-based risk of bias assessment were independently performed by two reviewers. Meta-analysis was performed with RevMan 5.3 software.
RESULTSSix RCT with 494 patients (247 in the experimental group and 247 in the control group) were included. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the desensitizing effect of stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste was significantly better than that of control in tactile sensitivity test (SMD=1.41, 95% confidence interval 0.74-2.09, P<0.00001) and air blast test (SMD = -1.16, 95% confidence interval -1.84--0.48, P<0.000 01).
CONCLUSIONCurrent evidence shows that stannous fluoride-containing toothpaste is effective in treating dentine hypersensitivity in clinic. However, due to limited sample size and lower quality of the included studies, more high quality and large-sample RCT are needed to further verify the evidence.

Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging 2015;35(2):81-84
Objective To explore the relationship between myocardial glucose metabolism in the right heart and cardiac function in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM).Methods From October 2010 to May 2013,64 consecutive patients (45 males,19 females; mean age:(53 ± 12) years) with IDCM were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent 18F-FDG myocardial PET imaging,late-gadolinium enhancement cardiac MRI (cMRI-LGE) and UCG.TrueD software was used to determine the SUVmax in right (SUV-R) and left (SUV-L) ventricular free wall, and the ratio of SUV-R to SUV-L (SUV-R/L) was calculated. The cMRI-LGE was used to evaluate LVEF,RVEF and LGE in left heart.Pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) was measured by UCG.Two-sample t test and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Results Both SUV-R and SUV-R/L had negative correlation with LVEF (r=-0.48,-0.33; both P<0.01) and also with RVEF (r=-0.45,-0.44; both P<0.01).SUV-R/L positively correlated with PASP (r =0.58,P<0.01).SUV-R/L of patients with and without LGE were statistically different (0.45±0.18 vs 0.36±0.12; t=2.50,P<0.05).SUV-R and SUV-L of patients with LGE were 2.0±0.9 and 4.7±1.6,and those of patients without LGE were 1.7±0.9 and 5.0±2.8.Both differences of SUV-R and SUV-L between the two groups were not statistically significant (t=0.54 and 0.63,both P>0.05).Conclusions Myocardial glucose metabolism in right heart is closely correlated with left and right ventricular function. The assessment of 18F-FDG uptake in right heart by PET imaging is potentially useful for evaluation of the severity and prognosis in IDCM patients.
