Objective To verify the applicable significance of confocal scanning laser retinal tomography in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods Heidelberg confocal scanning laser tomography was used to measure 75 eyes of 59 patients with AMD, including 25 eyes of 20 patients with exudative AMD, 25 eyes of 16 patients with atrophic AMD , and 25 eyes of 23 patients with macular drusen. Objective:To understand the level of iodine nutrition in the areas with iodine deficiency and high iodine in Anyang City of Henan Province, and to provide a basis for taking targeted prevention and treatment measures and scientific adjustment of intervention strategies.Methods:In 2019, three areas with iodine deficiency (median iodine in water < 10 μg/L) and three areas with high water iodine (median iodine in water > 100 μg/L) were selected from counties (cities and districts) in Anyang City by stratified random sampling. Children aged 8-10 and pregnant women were selected in areas with high iodine and areas with iodine deficiency, respectively. Urine samples and salt samples were collected and tested, and children's thyroids were examined by B-mode ultrasound.Results:A total of 654 salt samples were collected in iodine deficiency areas, among which non-iodized salt accounted for 1.83% (12/654). A total of 628 salt samples were collected from areas with high iodine, among which non-iodized salt accounted for 6.05% (38/628). The difference in non-iodized salt rate between the two areas was statistically significant (χ 2=15.19, P < 0.05). A total of 654 urine samples were collected from children in iodine deficiency areas, with a median of 211.15 μg/L of urinary iodine, and 628 urine samples were collected from high iodine areas, with a median of 390.50 μg/L of urinary iodine. The difference was statistically significant ( U=- 18.34, P < 0.05). A total of 300 urine samples were collected from pregnant women in iodine deficiency areas, with a median of 223.95 μg/L, and 127 urine samples were collected from pregnant women in high iodine areas, with a median of 258.00 μg/L. The difference was statistically significant ( U=- 4.07, P < 0.05). The thyroid volume of 560 children in the iodine deficient areas was detected, and the swelling rate was 1.43% (8/560). The thyroid volume of 628 children in high iodine areas was detected, and the swelling rate was 2.07% (13/628). Conclusion:The iodine nutrition level of the population in the iodine deficiency areas of Anyang City is appropriate, while the iodine nutrition level of the population in the water source high iodine areas is excessive.

Objective To evaluate the association of gastric hyperplastic polyps with colorectal neo-plasia.Methods Data of consecutive patients who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)and colonoscopy between January 2011 and December 2013 were reviewed retrospectively.They were compared with patients without gastric polyps who also underwent EGD in the same period.The relationship between gastric polyps and colorectal neoplasia was analyzed.Results The incidence of colorectal neoplasia in gas-tric hyperplastic polyps group was higher than that of the control group [24.0% (46 /192)VS 10.4%(40 /384),P =0.000].An increased incidence of colorectal adenomas in gastric hyperplastic polyps group was found,but there was no difference in the incidence of colorectal cancer in gastric hyperplastic polyps group and control group[2.1%(4 /192)VS 2.3%(9 /384),P =1.000].Stratification analysis suggested that the incidence of colorectal neoplasia in gastric hyperplastic polyps group who aged over 50 was signifi-cantly higher than that in the control group[28.5%(43 /151)VS 10.6%(29 /274),P =0.017],regard-less of different genders and the number of gastric hyperplastic polyps.Conclusion The incidence of color-ectal neoplasia in gastric hyperplastic polyps has significantly increased,especially in those aged over 50 years,regardless of different genders and the number of gastric hyperplastic polyps.Such patients should undergo colonoscopy to detect colorectal neoplasia.

Objective To investigate the effects of berberine on tumor-associated macrophages (TAM)and the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)of intestinal polyps in Apc(Min/+) mice.Methods A total of 20 Apc(Min/+) mice,four weeks old,were equally divided into the control group and the berberine group,10 in each group.The mice of the control group drank plain water,while the mice of berberine group drank water with 0.1 % berberine.After 12 weeks,all the mice were sacrificed.The intestine and colon were isolated,and the numbers of polyps were counted.The expression of F4/80,inducible nitric oxide synthase-2 (iNOS),macrophage mannose receptor (MR)and COX-2 was detected by immunohisto-chemistry method.The relative expression of COX-2 at protein level was measured by Western blotting. The t test was performed for comparison between two independent groups.Results The total number of intestinal polyps,the number of small intestinal polyps and the number of colon polyps of the berberine group (11 .50±2.05 ,10.50±1 .77 and 1 .00±0.46,respectively)were all less than those of the control group (30.63±1 .69,28.00±2.00 and 2.63±0.74,respectively),and the differences were statistically significant (t=16.727,16.952 and 3.162,P =0.001 ,0.001 and 0.010,respectively).The percentage of F4/80 positive cells in the stroma of polyps of the berberine group ((17.40 ±4.23 )%)was less than that of the control group ((31 .24±6.34)%),and the difference was statistically significant (t =5 .327, P =0.043).The percentage of iNOS positive cells in the stroma of polyps of the berberine group ((7.43± 1 .78 )%) was higher than that of the control group ((2.72±0.68)%), and the difference was statistically significant (t=7.335 ,P =0.004).The percentage of MR positive cells in stroma of polyps of the berberine group ((19.52±1 .54)%)was less than that of the control group ((12.63±0.68)%),and the difference was statistically significant (t=5 .634,P =0.016).The percentage of COX-2 positive cells in stroma of polyps of berberine group ((3.38 ± 0.51 )%)was less than that of the control group ((7.60±0.57 )%),and the difference was statistically significant (t = 7.234,P = 0.001 ).The relative expression of COX-2 at protein level of polyps of the berberine group was lower than that of the control group. Conclusion Berberine may take the role in inhibiting the growth of intestinal polyps in Apc(Min/+) mice through interfering the differentiation of TAM in polyps and suppression the expression of COX-2.

Objective To investigate the iodine nutrition status of school-age children in Anyang,and analyze its related influencing factors.Method Monitoring data on urinary iodine of school-aged children and iodized salt were collected from 2011 to 2015,its general situation was described,and differences in age,sex,residential area type and year were compared.Results Totally 13 371 iodized salt samples were collected in Anyang City from 2011 to 2015,and 12 205 were qualified iodized salt.The median of iodized salt was 26.91 mg/kg.Totally 1 282 urinary iodine samples of school-age children were monitored in Anyang City,and its median of urinary iodine was 237.0 μg/L,the constituent ratio of urinary iodine of children under 100 μg/L and above 300 μg/L was 14.5％(186/ 1 282) and 35.3％ (452/1 282),respectively,the results of urinary iodine were different in different years,and the differences were statistically significant (x2 =36A1,P＜ 0.05);the differences of the residential area type,sex and age had no influence on the urinary iodine of school-age children,and the differences were not statistically significant (Z =-1.07,-0.94,x2 =6.50,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The iodine-nutritional status of school-age children is more than adequate,the concentration of urinary iodine is high,and the differences of the residential area type,sex and age have no influence on the urinary iodine of school-age children.

BACKGROUNDImmunocytochemistry is valuabale in differentiating malignant fluids from benign ones. However, the diagnostic value of a single tumor marker is limited. The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical value of capture of cancer cells in pleural fluids of patients with lung cancer by cytochip.

METHODSA new pattern cytochip was developed to immunize hybridization of cells in pleural fluids of patients with 42 lung cancers and with 20 lung benign lesions. Ten antibodies were fixed on the cytochip, they were epithelial specific antigen (ESA), CD44V6, ND-1, T cell (CD3), CD45RO, B cell (CD20), CD79a, Hodgkin's cell (CD15), CD30 and macrophage (CD68).

RESULTSThe point of positive hybridization showed round distribution with clear border, and the shape of cell displayed well. The positive numbers of ESA, CD44V6, ND-1 were 35, 30, 38 respectively in pleural fluids of 42 patients with luog cancers; lymphocytes and neutrophils were found on the 1 ESA and 1 ND-1 respectively, and only lymphocytes were found on the 3 CD44V6 in 20 ones with lung benign lesions; the other 7 antibodies did not capture cancer cells except for lymphocytes, neutrophils and macrophages from two pleural fluids.

CONCLUSIONSThe cytochip could be an important practical foreground in clinic for diagnosing cancer cells in pleural fluids of patients with lung cancer.

Objective To investigate the iodine nutritional status of rural residents in Anyang City of Henan Province,and to provide theoretical basis for making policy adjustment on iodine supplement. Methods In 2015, Tangyin County and Anyang County were chosen from Anyang City, one township was selected from each county based on five orientations of east, west, south, north and centre, four villages were chosen from each township,15 households were taken from each village, and kitchen salt samples were collected to detect salt iodine;tap water samples were collected to detect water iodine.In the selected county,one medical institution was selected, 100 women of childbearing age,pregnant women,lactating women and infants aged 0-2 years old were selected to detect urinary iodine; one primary school was selected in the selected township, and 20 children aged 8 - 10 years old were selected to detect urinary iodine. Salt iodine was determined using direct titration (GB/T 13025.7-1999);urinary iodine and water iodine were determined using arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometry(WS/T 107-2006). Results A total of 600 salt samples were collected, half from Anyang County and half from Tangyin County, the medians of salt iodine were 27.59,29.15 mg/kg,respectively,the difference was statistically significant(Z = - 4.92, P <0.05).A total of 47 water samples were collected,21 from Anyang County and 26 from Tangyin County,the medians of water iodine were 9.44,5.37 μg/L,respectively,the difference was not statistically significant(Z=-0.30, P > 0.05). A total of 985 key people were surveyed, children, women of childbearing age, pregnant women, lactating women and infants were 200, 205, 197, 187, 196, respectively, the medians of urinary iodine were 253.05, 249.80, 177.10, 266.40, 247.85 μg/L, respectively, the differences were statistically significant (χ2=29.76, P < 0.05). Urinary iodine levels of childbearing age women (226.60,313.85 μg/L),lactating women(230.85,286.20 μg/L) and infants (222.35, 275.35 μg/L) were compared between Anyang County and Tangyin County, the differences were statistically significant (Z=3.33,2.21,3.13,P<0.05).Conclusion The iodine nutritional status of rural residents in Anyang City is basically good,but the urinary iodine levels of general population are high.

Objective To apply intervention of integrated pharmaceutical care (IPC) for asthma-COPD overlap syn-drome patients,so as to reduce the side effects of drugs,enhance medication compliance,promote reasonable drug application,cut down the medical expenses in ACOS patients. Methods A total of 60 ACOS patients were randomly divided into IPC group (group A) (n=34) and contrast group(group B) (n=26).The patients in group A were given IPC measurements such as noso-comial guidance,classroom teaching,regular follow-up,life coaching and psychological advice.While the patients in group B were not given any intervention measures. Results In group A,patients' awareness rate of action and side-effects of drugs were ob-viously increased;Knowledges of inhalation preparation were greatly improved;the ratio of ADRs was significantly reduced;The FEV1 and the value added of FEV1 was dramatically improved.Furthermore,the differences showed statistical significance as com-pared with group B(P<0.05).Total medical costs and anti-bacterial drug costs per year were significantly lower in group A than group B. Conclusion IPC is beneficial to enhance drug compliance,promote reasonable drug application and bring down the medical expenses in ACOS patients.

Objective:To understand the iodine content of drinking water and iodine nutrition of key population in Anyang City, Henan Province, and to provide a basis for taking targeted prevention and control measures and scientific adjustment of intervention strategies.Methods:In 2019, stratified sampling method was used to carry out water iodine survey in all townships in Anyang City, and in townships with the median water iodine > 10 μg/L, water iodine survey was carried out in administrative villages, and water iodine content was detected. Two hundred children aged 8 - 10 years and 100 pregnant women were selected from each county (city, district) to test iodine contents of their household salt and urine, respectively.Results:Six hundred and eight water samples were collected in Anyang City, and the median water iodine was 5.98 μg/L. One thousand one hundred and fifty-six samples were collected, and the median water iodine was 34.10 μg/L. A total of 1 605 salt samples were collected in the city, and the median salt iodine was 24.30 mg/kg, the coverage rate of iodized salt was 91.8% (1 473/ 1 605). A total of 1 605 urine samples were collected from children in the city, and the median urinary iodine was 170.10 μg/L. Urine samples of 804 pregnant women were collected, and the median urinary iodine was 190.00 μg/L.Conclusion:Most areas of Anyang City still belong to iodine deficiency area, and the median urinary iodine of children and pregnant women is within the suitable range of iodine.

【Objective】 To establish a blood quality monitoring indicator system, in order to continuously improve blood quality and standardized management. 【Methods】 Based on the research of literature and standards, and guided by the key control points of blood collection and supply process, the blood quality monitoring indicator system was developed. Through two rounds of Delphi expert consultation, the indicator content was further revised and improved according to expert opinions after six months of trial implementation. The indicator weight was calculated by questionnaire and analytic hierarchy process. 【Results】 A blood quality monitoring indicator system covering the whole process of blood collection and supply was constructed, including five primary indicators, namely blood donation service, blood component preparation, blood testing, blood supply and quality control, as well as 72 secondary indicators, including definitions, calculation formulas, etc. Two rounds of expert consultation and two rounds of feasibility study meeting were held to revise 17 items and the weight of each indicator was obtained through the analytic hierarchy process. After partial adjustments, a blood quality monitoring indicator system was formed. 【Conclusion】 A blood quality monitoring indicator system covering the whole process of blood collection and supply has been established for the first time, which can effectively evaluate the quality management level of blood banks and coordinate blood quality control activities of blood banks in Shandong like pieces in a chess game, thus improving the standardized management level
