[Objective]To study the application and clinical results of the adjustable erternal fixation of ankle joint(AEFA) in orthopedic surgery.[Method]From January 1999 to May 2005,45 cases(55 feet)of equinovarus deformity were treated with orthopedic surgery. In order to preventent the deformity relapsion, the patients were assigned to two groups. The A group(26 cases,32 feet)patients were treated with the adjustable erternal fixation of ankle joint(AEFA).The B group(19 cases,23 feet)patients were treated with plaster immobilization. The orthopedic surgery effect and functions of ankle joint were studied and tested with independent sample t test and x~2 test.[Result]Thirty-eight cases were fellowed-up for 3 months to 9 years(averaged 19 months). There were significant difference between the two groups in the functions of ankle joint.[Conclusion]The new apparatus can effectively prevent the foot-drop deformity and enhance the function of ankle joint.

Objective To observe the interference actien of Buqi Huoxue Decoction(Herbal decoction for reinforcing qi and activating blood)on the model rats with acute cerebral ischemia. Methods Sixty SD rats were randomized into 6 groups,i.e.sham operation group, model group, nimodipine group, and Buqi Huoxue Decoction groups of high, middle, and low dosages, with 10 rats in each.Except the model and sham operation groups, the others were given Buqi Huoxue Decoction through intragastric gavage for 5 days. The acute cerebral ischemia models were made on the sixth day.One hour before modeling, the last medication was applied. At the time point 6h,12h,and 24h,the blood sample was taken from the aorta abdominalis for detecting the tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?).After 24h,the hemorheology test was performed. Results Compared with the model group, the whole blood viscosity including the high shear rate and low shear rate and erythrocyte aggregation index of the Nimodipine group and Buqi Huoxue Decoction groups of high and middle dosages were lowered(P

BACKGROUND:Stem cells can promote nerve regeneration, repair damaged nerves, inhibit inflammation and apoptosis of nerve cells, and provide a new way for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. OBJECTIVE:To make a bibliometrical analysis of the articles on stem cell therapy for Alzheimer's disease published internationally from 2004 to 2023,in order to reveal the research hotspot and trend of stem cell therapy for Alzheimer's disease. METHODS:From the Web of Science Core Collection database,by using Excel,VOSviewer, and Citespace software, the annual number of publications,countries,institutions,journals/co-cited journals, authors, and keywords of articles related to stem cells and Alzheimer's disease published from January 1,2004 to October 31,2023 were visually analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 3 521 core papers were included, and the number of published papers increased year by year. The United States is the country with the most papers.Harvard Medical School is the most prolific institution.Maiese kenneth is the author with the most papers.International Journal of Molecular Sciences has the most papers in this field. The journal PLoS One published the most citations. At present, the field of stem cell therapy for Alzheimer's disease focuses on pathophysiological mechanism and animal experimental research, and"neurogenesis","oxidative stress","extracellular vesicles",and"mesenchymal stem cells"are the research trends in this field.Stem cell therapy for Alzheimer's disease has broad prospects. In the future, exchanges and cooperation between institutions and authors should be strengthened to further explore the main mechanism of stem cell therapy for Alzheimer's disease, solve possible clinical problems such as immune rejection, effectiveness, and safety, and further tap the potential of stem cells in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
