Objective To design a more reasonable method by comparing three existing injury severity scores for evaluating maxillofacial injury severity according to its features by retrospective analysis. Methods Nine hundred and eighty-four cases with maxillofacial trauma (≤30 days before hospitalization) selected from 1 159 cases were stratified by the number of fractures and the sites of trauma. The injury severity was evaluated with ISS, RFISS and MISS respectively. The results of ISS/RFISS/MISS were compared and analyzed with SPSS software. Results MISS could accurately differentiate single from multiple facial injuries. It was more meaningful for evaluating different sites of facial injury compared with ISS and RFISS. Conclusion MISS can be used to evaluate maxillofacial injury objectively and accurately.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristic and provide therapeutic techniques of maxillofacial trauma in the elderly. Methods Geriatric maxillaofacial trauma patients admitted to our hospital from January 1992 to December 2002 was retrospectively reviewed. Data were collected according to etiology, location, comorbidities, associated injuries, therapeutic methods and the outcome. The patients were compared with a control group consisting of 200 young and adult patients admitted at the same period. Results For the 126 geriatric trauma patients, the major causes were traffic accidents(61.1%) and violence assault(25.4%). A large proportion of facial injuries occurred on the lower part of the face. 69.1% of the patients presented with preexisting diseases. Most of the fractures were not treated(35.7%). Objective To develop a scientific system of core information of health and evaluation index for the elderly Chinese people,which is suitable for the situation of our country.Methods The framework was established by extensive literature review and topic discussions.The index system was constructed with the Delphi method.Results 58 experts in different fields of health were selected in the two rounds of Delphi consultation research.The effective response rates in the two rounds were 96.88％ and 100％ respectively.The average value of the authoritative coefficient was between 0.80 and 0.96.And coefficients of variation were between 6.20 and 12.13.Based on the Delphi consultation research,the core information of health and evaluation index system for the elderly Chinese people were composed of 8 primary indicators closely associated with the positive awareness of aging and senescence and 31 other indicators.Conclusions The architecture of the core information of health and evaluation index system for the elderly Chinese people is stable,and the consultant experts tend to reach a consensus.The evaluation index system contains the most influential factors for the elderly Chinese people,and has the affirmative scientificity,applicability and feasibility.

OBJECTIVE To investigate hand hygiene of healthcare workers in burn ward in our hospital and provide scientific basis for the effective prevention and control of hospital infection in burn ward.METHODS Selected randomly 30 healthcare workers in burn ward and sampled from hands for bacterial culture.RESULTS The average colony of hand pathogens of the 30 healthcare workers was 105.42 CFU/cm2,the maximam was 1093 CFU/cm2.Among the hand pathogens,40.91% were Bacillus subtilis,36.36% were micrococcus and 13.64% were Staphylococcus aureus.CONCLUSIONS Hand hygiene of healthcare workers are not optimistic in burn ward.Strengthening the education of hand hygiene and raising the executable rate of hand hygiene are important measures to prevent and control the hospital infection in burn ward.

Abstract In order to achieve the goal of reducing the smoking rate among Chinese adults at ages of 15 years and above to below 20% by 2030, smoking cessation services require to be reinforced. The current Chinese smoking cessation service system includes short-term smoking cessation interventions and smoking cessation hotlines at the population level, and smoking cessation clinics at the individual level; however, these smoking cessation services suffer from problems of low awareness, low accessibility and low utilization rate. Based on the publications pertaining to smoking cessation services and released policy documents in China until June 2022, this review analyzes the current status, problems and causes of smoking cessation services, and proposes suggestions for improving the smoking cessation service system construction in China.

Objective To investigate the effects of a novel |3 titanium fixation with high strength and low elastic modulus on bone healing of osteoporotic fracture and its effects on stress shielding.Methods Forty female Sprague-Dawley rats were oophorectomized before establishment of femur fracture model.The fracture of left femur was stabilized by titanium alloy pin with high elastic modulus (110 Gpa,high elasticity modulus group) and the fracture of right femur by titanium alloy pin with low elastic modu-lus (30 Gpa, low elasticity modulus group).Six and 12 weeks later, the bone volume (BV) , total vol-ume (TV) and bone volume fraction (BVF) were detected by Micro-CT, and the maximum load was de-tected by biomechanical test.The effects of two titanium alloy pins on formation of bony calluses and me-chanical properties of bones were compared.Results Compared with the low elasticity modulus group, more collagen and bony callus, thicker bone trabeculae and more regular lamellar bone were found in the high elasticity modulus group.In low elasticity modulus group, TV (ROI1) was increased obvious-ly at week 6, with no statistical differences in BV (ROI 1), BV (ROI 2) and maximum load between two groups (P < 0.05).TV and BV in region ROI 1 in the low elasticity modulus group were significantly higher than that in high elasticity modulus group (P < 0.05) , while BV in region ROI 2 in low elasticity modulus group was significantly higher than that in high elasticity modulus group at week 12 postoperative-ly (P<0.05).Biomechnical test indicated that the maximum load in low elasticity modulus group was higher than that in high elasticity modulus group.Conclusions The novel B titanium alloy with high strength and low elastic modulus helps reduce effects of stress shielding, diminish bone resorption, in-crease the fibrous callus formation at the initial phase and improve the quality of bone healing at the later phase.

Objective To investigate the incidence,etiology and risk factors of activity of daily life (ADL) deterioration during recovery in patients with ischemic stroke.Methods Consecutive inpatients with acute ischemic stroke from Dongguan area were enrolled prospectively.The demographic,clinical and imaging data were documented,and the patients were followed-up for 6 months.The modified Rankin Scale (mRS) 9Q was used to evaluate ADL.The mRS score 0-2 was defined as independency,and the mRS score ＞2 was defined as dependency,and the ADL deterioration was defined as transition from independency to dependency.A multivariate logistic regression model was established to analyze the factors associated with ADL deterioration.Results A total of 362 patients completed the 6-month follow-up,50 patients (13.8％) had ADL deterioration,among them,14 (3.9％) attributed to early stroke recurrence and 12 (3.3％)attributed to cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that advanced age (odds ratio [OR] 1.099,95％ confidence interval [CI] 1.049-1.152;P ＜0.001),female (OR] 2.026,95％ CI 1.068-6.437;P =0.035),previous stroke history (OR 1.251,95％ CI 1.024-1.530;P=0.029),and higher baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score (OR 1.167,95％ CI 1.016-1.284;P =0.001) were the independent risk factors for ADL deterioration.Conchtsions The ADL deterioration deterioration during recovery in patients with ischemic stroke is not uncommon.Advanced age,female,previous stroke history and higher baseline NIHSS score are the independent risk factors for ADL deterioration during recovery in patients with ischemic stroke.

Objective To elucidate whether 24-hour blood pressure (BP) variability in the acute phase of ischemic stroke is associated with functional outcomes.Methods Case-control study was performed in patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to December 2015.Clinical data and 24-hour continuous BP monitoring data right after admission were recorded,and BP variability profiles were subsequently calculated.Functional outcomes were evaluated with modified Rankin scale (mRS) on discharge and at 6 months after discharge respectively (favorable outcome:mRS scores ＜2;poor outcome:mRS scores＞2).BP variability profiles were compared with distinctive functional outcomes.Logistic regression models were established to investigate factors contributing to poor outcome on discharge and at 6 months after discharge.Results Of 188 eligible patients,67 (35.6％) discharged with poor outcome and 95 (50.5％) were reported poor outcome at 6 months follow-up.Patients with poor outcome on discharge had significantly higher 24-hour mean systolic blood pressure (SBP,[149.6±20.0] mmHg vs.[137.6±20.2] mmHg) and SBP standard variation (SBP-SD,[13.4±3.8] mmHg vs.[12.1±3.8] mmHg,P＜0.05).After adjusting for crude variables,the increase of 24-hour mean SBP and SBP-SD was independently associated with poor outcome on discharge (OR=1.284,95％CI=1.067-1.544,P=0.008;OR=1.098,95％CI=1.016-1.188,P=0.019).Patients with poor outcome at 6 month after discharge had significantly higher 24-hour mean SBP ([146.6±20.6] mmHg vs.[137.1 ± 20.2] mmHg,P＜0.05).Conelusion Increased 24-hour BP variability after admission is associated with early functional outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke,but not with midterm outcome.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Shexiang Baoxin pill (SBP) on the vascular endothelial function in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) complicated with angina pectoris.

METHODSTwo weeks after runin, according to the randomizing table, 111 patients were divided into two groups, the XBP group (56 patients) and the control group (55 patients, treated with delayed-released isosorbide mononitrate, DRIM), they were treated for 6 months. In the treatment period, the episodes of angina attack and condition of rescue medication were recorded in the daily card, and brachial arterial changes of endothelium-dependent relaxing function before and after treatment were measured by B-ultrasonography.

RESULTSComparison between the two groups in episodes of angina attack and rescue medication were insignificantly different. In the control group, the basal value of brachial arterial inner diameter before and after treatment was 3.68 +/- 0.56 mm and 3.70 +/- 0.58 mm respectively, those before and after responsive congestion was 5.44 +/- 0.81% vs 5.68 +/- 0.83%, and those before and after taking nitroglycerin was 19.8 +/- 4.9% vs 20. +/- 5.2%, all showed insignificant difference (P > 0.05). In the SBP group, the corresponding basal value was 3.73 +/- 0.62 mm vs 3.71 +/- 0.59 mm, and those after taking nitroglycerin 18.8 +/- 4.5 % vs 19.2 +/- 5.8%, also showed insignificant difference, but those before and after responsive congestion (5.69 +/- 0.79 % vs 9.56 +/- 3.82 %) did show significant difference (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONXBP could improve the vascular endothelial function in patients with DM2 complicated with angina pectoris.
