Objective To investigate the effects of sensorimotor therapy on patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods Ninety-two patients with knee osteoarthritis were divided into a treatment group and a control group by using random digits table. Both groups received conventional rehabilitation therapy, including knee isometric and isotonic contraction training, ultrashort wave diathermy as well as aerobic exercise. The treatment group was also administered with sensorimotor training, in addition to the conventional training, including the muscle strengthening and control training of quadriceps and hamstring muscle using sling exercise therapy system and on the Thera-band mattress. The visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, manual muscle testing and knee range of motion as well as the Japanese Orthopedic Association knee function evaluation form were used to evaluate the patients. Results There was no statistic difference between the 2 groups before treatment, with regard to the evaluation parameters used in this study. After 2 months of treatment, both groups improved significantly (P <0.05),with the treatment group improved to a significantly greater extent (P <0.05). Conclusions Sensorimotor training in addition to the conventional rehabilitation treatment can further relieve the pain of patients with knee osteoarthritis joints arthritis and improve the function of patients with knee osteoarthritis.

This study is to explore the amelioration of piperine on chronic acute combining stress rat with depression-like behavior, visceral sensitivity, and its effect on the expression of serotonin (5-HT) and synaptophysin. Forty two SD rats were divided into seven groups: blank group, model group, piperine (12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mgkg-1, ig) and imipramine (10 mgkg-1, ip) groups. The rat model of irritable bowel syndrome was established by chronic acute combining stress, and then to evaluate depression-like behavior and visceral sensitivity. The expressions of 5-HT and synaptophysin in the hippocampus and colon were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Western blotting, respectively. The duration of immobility of IBS rat in the forced swimming test had been significantly increased, the sucrose consumption of IBS rat had been reduced and visceral sensitivity was obviously elevated in the IBS model group as compared with those in the normal control group (P<0.05, P<0.01). As compared with those in the normal control group, the expression of 5-HT significantly decreased, 5-HIAA/5-HT ratio significantly increased in the hippocampus of IBS model group (P<0.05), but opposite presentations were noted in the colon (P<0.05). As compared with that in the normal control group, the synaptophysin expression in the hippocampus decreased significantly but obviously increased in the colon (P<0.05). Piperine improved the behavior of IBS rats, and reversed the levels of 5-HT and 5-HIAA, and 5-HIAA/5-HT proportion in the hippocampus and colon (P<0.05); besides, they significantly reverse the synaptophysin level in the hippocampus and colon (P<0.05). The presence of depression and visceral sensitivity had been changed in IBS rats, with abnormal expression of 5-HT and synaptophysin in the brain-gut system. Piperine can ameliorate the changes of the behavior and regulation of serotonin and synaptophysin expression in IBS rat model.

To analyze the molecular mechanisms of cross-host transmission of the Aleutian mink disease vi rus (ADV), the hypervariable region fragment of the VP2 gene of the ADV in Jilin Province (China) was amplified. Sequencing analyses showed diversity at residue 174 by comparison with other VP2 genes in GenBank. The phylogenetic tree indicated that the ADV-JL strain had a close relationship with the highly pathogenic strain from Denmark: ADV-K. Results implied that residue 174 may be associated with ADV infectivity.

Objective To explore the risk factors of cognitive impairment of elderly patients with cerebral infarction in order to provide the theoretical basis for the clinical intervention. Methods A total of 237 cases with senile cerebral infarction were selected as ours subjects who were hospitalized from Mar. 2010 to Jun. 2013 in Kailuan General Hospital Affiliated to Hebei United University. The general condition and medical history were recorded. The auxiliary examination was performed. Cerebral infarction was diagnosed based on the onset to diagnosis standard and MoCA scores of within 2 weeks. The patients with less than 26 MoCA score were diagnosed as cognitive dysfunction and otherwise were thought as normal. Single factor analysis methods and non conditional Logistic regression were applied to analyze the analysis. Results There was no significant difference in terms of incidence between patients with different gender. Patients with age more than 75 years old and lower education levels had the high incidence rate than those with younger age and high education levels( χ2=16. 661,5. 453;P﹤0. 05). The cognitive dysfunction incidence of patients with white collar was lower than those with blue collar(χ2 = 5. 458,P ﹤ 0. 05 ). And the cognitive dysfunction incidence of patients with hypertention, diabetes, heart disease and leukoaraiosis were higher than those without the above diseases(χ2 =28. 423,5. 621,7. 768,6. 070;P﹤0. 05). The incidence of patients smoking more was significantly higher than that of smoking less or no(χ2 =5. 045,P ﹤0. 05 ). Multiple factors and non conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that,67 Senile cerebral infarction patients occurred cognitive impairment within 2 weeks. The independent risk factors for its occurrence included age greater than 75 years( P=0. 000 ),diabetes mellitus( P=0. 043),hypertension(P=0. 000)and leukoaraiosis(P=0. 041). Conclusion There are many risk factors related to cognitive impairment after cerebral infarction occurred in the elderly. The intervention should take in many aspects and the risk factors should early found.
