Objective To analyze the changes of Tpeak-Tend interval (Tp-Te) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM),and to explore the relationship between the changes of Tp-Te and ventricular arrhythmias. Methods A total of 112 patients with T2DM were selected from the Department of endocrinology of our hospital from June 2014 to May 2016 (T2DM group),and 65 subjects underwent healthy physical examination in our hospital were selected as the normal control group (NC group) during the same period. The general data, fasting plasma glucose (FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c),Tp-Te,Tp-Te dispersion (Tp-Ted) were compared between the two groups. The changes of Tp-Te in patients with or without ventricular arrhythmia in T2DM group were also analyzed. Results The FPG,HbA1c,LDL-C,TC and heart rate were significantly higher in T2DM group than in the NC group (P<0.05).Compared with the control group,V5 lead Tp-Te and Tp-Ted in T2DM group was significantly prolonged (P<0.05).IN T2DM group,V5 lead Tp-Te and Tp-Ted were significantly longer in patients with ventricular arrhythmias than in patients without ventricular arrhythmia (P<0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the increase of HbA1c and FPG were independent risk factors for prolonged Tp-Ted,and Tp-Ted was an independent risk factor for ventricular arrhythmia. Conclusion Patients with T2DM are more likely to have prolonged Tp-Ted.The prolonged Tp-Te and Tp-Ted could increase the incidence of ventricular arrhythmias.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the expression and clinical significance of ZEB2 and E-cadherin mRNA and protein in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tissues.
METHOD:
The expressions of ZEB2 and Ecadherin in 39 cases of NPC tissue and 12 cases of nasopharyngeal inflammation tissue were detected by Real-time PCR method and immunohistochemical technique. To assess their correlations with clinicopathological parameters of NPC and the interrelationship between them.
RESULT:
Both the expression of ZEB2 mRNA and protein were higher in NPC tissues than that in inflammation tissues (P < 0.05). Abnormal expression of ZEB2 mRNA and protein in NPC were significantly associated to N stage and clinic stage (P < 0.05), but the difference in expression between the different gender, age and T stage were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Both the expression of Ecadherin mRNA and protein were higher in NPC tissues than that in inflammation tissues (P < 0.05). Abnormal expression of Ecadherin mRNA and protein in NPC were significantly associated to N stage (P < 0.05), but the different expression between the different gender, age, T stage and clinic stage were not statistically significant (P > 0.05). In NPC tissues, the expression of ZEB2 mRNA was negative correlated with the expression of E-cadherin mRNA (r = -0.367, P < 0.05). The expression of ZEB1 protein was negative correlated with the expression of E-cadherin protein (r = -0.322, P < 0.05), the differences were both statistically significant.
CONCLUSION
The expression of ZEB2 was up-regulated in NPC, while the expression of E-cadherin was down-regulated, their expression was significantly negative correlated, and might be associated with metastasis of NPC, ZEB2 may promote the invasion and metastasis of NPC by inhibiting the expression of E-cadherin.

9.A comprehensive overview of type III polyketide synthases from plants: molecular mechanism and application perspective--a review.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2009;25(11):1601-1607
Type III polyketide synthases (PKSs) from plants produce a variety of plant secondary metabolites with notable structural diversity and biological activity. These metabolites not only afford plants the ability to defend against pathogen attack and other external stresses, but also exhibit a wide range of biological effects on human health. Several plant PKSs have been identified and studied in recent years. This paper summarized what was known about plant PKSs and some of their aspects such as molecular structure, reaction mechanisms, gene expression and regulation, and transgenic engineering. The review provides information for manipulating polyketide formation and further increasing the scope of polyketide biosynthetic diversity, as well as new avenues for developing transgenic engineering of type III PKSs.
