Objective To study the effect of nutrition support with somatostatin in patients with gastro- esophagus leakage after proximal gastrectomy. Methods 6 patients with gastro-esophagus leakage after proximal gastrectomy for gastric cancer from July 2004 to September 2009 were enrolled. Then, the patients were treated with improved drainage, parenteral & enteral nutrition and somatostatin. Furthermore, nutrition index and duration of recovery were investigated respectively. All data were analyzed between preoperative and postoperative by student's T-Test.Results 6 patients were cured after non-operation. The average period of in-hospital was 32 days. Compared with the post-leakage day 1 ,the nutrition states were significantly improved when patients recovered( P ＜0. 01 ). Non-complication happened. Conclusion It was an effective way to improve the nutrition state and to promote the gastro-esophagus leakage healing.

A data processing method for the sound power of the medical ultrasonic diagnostic equipment is introduced in this paper. The sound power for the transducer of a medical ultrasonic diagnostic equipment is measured for many times, and then the mathematical model based on the measurement data above is processed with Kalman filter.The output fluctuations for sound power of the equipment and its transducer as well as the measurement errors of sound power meter are eliminated to achieve the true value of sound power. Compared with other mean methods, the method above can improve the dicreteness of the measurements, and thus is worth being applied to processing other measured data.

Parenteral nutrition (PN) was given to 40 patients with upper gastric carcinoma after proximal gastrectomies; and full enteral nutrition (EN) was subsequently given when bowels function recovered.The nutritional indicators including serum albumin ( Alb),prealbumin .(PA) and transferring,and immunological indicators including IgA,IgG,IgM,C3,C4 were measured before and 1st,8th day after operation.The data were processed by software SPSS 13.0.The average length of hospital stay was 14 d and the aerofluxus time was (58 ±6)hours.There were no changes in blood biochemistry,hepatic function and renal function pre- and post-operation( P ＞0.05 ).The nutritional and immune indicators except the IgM in 1 st day after operation were decreased significantly ( P ＜ 0.05 ).The immune indicators except the IgG in 8th day after operation were significantly improved in comparison of those before and 1st day after operation ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Post-operative complications occurred in 3 patients including 1 case of subphrenic infection and 2 cases of anastomotic leakage.After proper treatment,all patients recovered well.Combined application of EN and PN may improve nutrition and immune status of patients after proximal gastrectomy.

ObjectiveTo study the expression of matrix metallopro-teinase-2 (MMP-2),matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in the pancreatic carcinomas. Methods MMP-2,MMP-9 expression were detected by immunohistochemistry in surgically resected specimens ( cancer tissues,cancer-adjacent tissues and normal tissues) from 30 PC patients,11 pancreatitis patients and 6 normal patients.the results were analyzed combined with clinical pathologic characteristics.The data was analyzed by Chi-Square test.ResultsThere was no expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 in normal pancreatic tissues.Both of MMP-2 and MMP-9 expressions were 18.2％ in chronic pancreatitis titssues.Expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 were higher in cancer tissues than in cancer-adjacent tissues(63.3％ vs 23.3％,56.7％ vs 40.0％,P ＜0.05).There were positive correlation between MMP-2,MMP-9 expression and lymph nodal metastasis,tumor sizes,clinical stage and differentiation of tumor(P ＜0.05).Conclusions The expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 was high,and linked to its unfavorable prognosis.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate MSCT diagnostic value in children with foreign body and stenosis in trachea and bronchus. MATERIALS AND METHOD: MSCT scan was done in 18 children suspected foreign body and stenosis in trachea and bronchus. Postprocessed (included Minp and MPR) were done after the axial images were obtained. All of 18 cases underwent conventional BFS. RESULT: Fifteen cases were shown with foreign body through MSCT scan. In addition, total amount of foreign body reached 21 pieces; The CT value in one case was 278 HU, in the others were from--10.6 HU to 31 HU; Stenosis in trachea and bronchus was found in 2 cases; Stenosis in laryngeal cavity after foreign body removing in one case. Foreign body and stenosis in trachea and bronchus were shown better in MPR and Minp images. MSCT images were not only conformed to BFS completely, but also showing foreign body in segmental bronchus more accurately. CONCLUSION MSCT scanning could show direct and indirect signs of the foreign body and stenosis in trachea and bronchus accurately, and determine the nature of foreign body. It can act as a primary examination.

Objective To explore the relationship between risk of stroke and calcaneal quantitative ultrasound(QUS)T score under-2. 5. Methods 5 847 subjects over the age of 40 from Yunyan District, Guiyang City were investigated with questionnaire, physical examination, blood lipids, other metabolic indexes and calcaneus bone density determination from May to October, 2011 by cluster sampling method and were followed up for 3 years. Subjects were divided into stroke group(99 subjects) and non-stroke group(5 748 subjects) according to the occurrence of stroke in the follow-up period. The relationship between risk of stroke and QUS T score under-2. 5 was analyzed. Results Compared to the non-stroke group, the number of subjects with T score under-2. 5 in calcaneal QUS was larger in the stroke group, the difference of which was statistically significant(P<0. 05). T score of bone density under-2. 5 in calcaneal QUS was found to be an independent risk factor for predicting stroke after adjusting for age, sex, and body mass index(HR=1. 467, 95%CI 0. 753-2. 855). The relationship between risk of stroke and T score under-2. 5 in calcaneal QUS remained unchanged after further adjust ment of smoking, diabetes, education, and hypertension(HR=1. 265, 95%CI 0. 647-2. 475). Conclusion The risk of stroke and T score of bone density under-2. 5 in calcaneal QUS was independently associated, and the latter is an independent risk factor for predicting stroke.

Objective To identify the risk factors for postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in elderly patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA).Methods Ninety-six American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅱ or Ⅲ patients,aged 65-80 yr,with body mass index of 18-25 kg/m2,undergoing elective TKA under total Ⅳ anesthesia,were divided into POCD group and non-POCD group according to whether POCD occurred on 7th day after surgery.The patient baseline characteristics in the perioperative period,plasma concentrations of interleukin-1beta (IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα),neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and S-100β protein,and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores at 1 and 2 days after operation were recorded.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the risk factors for POCD.Results Thirty-eight patients developed POCD at 7 days after operation,and the incidence was 39％.The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the number of operations,VAS score during activity at 1 day after operation,and concentrations of TNF-α,IL-1β,NSE and S-100β protein in plasma were risk factors for POCD (P＜0.05).Conclusion The number of operations,VAS score during activity at 1 day after operation,and concentrations of TNF-α,IL-1β,NSE and S-100β protein in plasma are risk factors for POCD in elderly patients undergoing TKA.

OBJECTIVE To illuminate the adenoid bacteria distribution in children with adenoid hypertrophy. METHODS PubMed, Embash, Medline, CNKI, VIP Information and Wanfang data were searched for studies on the adenoid bacteria distribution and adenoid hypertrophy. Random effects meta-analysis was used to pool data. RESULTS Nine studies were included in this meta analysis. The pooled detection rates of haemophilus influenza, staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus pneumonia were 0.21 (95%CI, 0.09-0.32), 0.14 (95%CI, 0.09-0.20) and 0.15 (95%CI , 0.08-0.22) respectively. CONCLUSION Haemophilus influenzae, staphylococcus aureus, and streptococcus pneumoniae are three main kinds of pathogenic bacteria of adenoid hypertrophy in children.

Objective: To demonstrate the effects of symbiotic bacteria from lettuce on inactivation of norovirus（NV）. Methods: Symbiotic bacteria were isolated from the lettuces sampled from farmlands and supermarkets. NV mixed with symbiotic bacteria was set as the experimental group,without symbiotic bacteria as the control group. After the inactivation by high temperature,ultraviolet light（UV）and chlorine dioxide,the ratio of NV amount in the experimental group and the control group was calculated to evaluate the effects of symbiotic bacteria. The mechanism of symbiotic bacteria was revealed by detecting their effects on the protection of viral capsid protein from UV and on the adsorption of NV. Results: Eleven symbiotic bacteria were identified from lettuces,all of which were bacilli,mainly Pseudomonas. Ten symbiotic bacteria could improve the heat-resistant ability of NV,with Microbacterium oryzae,Cupriavidus taiwanensis（SC061204）,Pseudomonas furukawaii,Enterobacter tabaci and Pseudomonas resinovorans（SC061211）more significant. Eleven symbiotic bacteria could improve anti-UV ability of NV,with Pseudomonas putida,Microbacterium oryzae and Enterobacter tabaci more significant. Only one strain of Pseudomonas putida could improve anti-chlorine dioxide ability of NV（Class I hazard）. Pseudomonas putida,Microbacterium oryzae and Enterobacter tabaci could significantly reduce the damage of NV capsid protein. Nine symbiotic bacteria could promote NV adsorption into lettuces,with the promotion rates ranged from 1.04% to 46.73%;while Pseudomonas putida and Pseudomonas resinovorans（SC061211） could restrain NV absorption,with the promotion rates of -6.50% and -19.85%. Conclusion Symbiotic bacteria from lettuce may enhance the anti-inactivation of NV by protecting capsid protein and promoting adsorption of NV. It is recommended to control the presence of symbiotic bacteria in the process of inactivating NV.
