Objective To study the clinical effect of personalized intervention on elderly patients with colostomy after Miles operation for rectal carcinoma. Methods 114 cases elderly patients with colonic stoma after Miles operation for rectal cancer from June 2014 to January 2016 were divided into control group and observation group by random number method, 57 cases in each. The control group were treated with routine intervention, while patients in observation group was treated with personalized intervention. the self-care ability score before intervention, the incidence of complications, intervention satisfaction and life quality score were compared between the two groups at the same time. Results The total complication rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in control group ( 5.25% vs 22.80%) (χ2 = 8.36, P = 0.000); the intervention satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (91.23% vs 75.44%) (χ2 = 6.60, P = 0.010). After intervention, the self-care ability score and life quality score of observation group were significantly higher than that in control group (P < 0.01). Conclusion The personalized intervention can reduce the complications, significantly improve the patients' life quality score and self-care ability, and effectively alleviate the negative situation, improve the patients intervention satisfaction, with a higher development value, it is worth of clinical promoting.

The testis is highly sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. Sperm is the passer of male genetic material and electromagnetic radiation may cause structural and functional injury to the testis, including motility reduction, abnormality increase and ultrastructural alteration of epididymal sperm. Energy metabolism disorder in spermatogenic cells, enhancement of lipid peroxidation in the testis, excessive expression of inflammatory factors and abnormality of genetic transcription may be responsible for injury to the testis and epididymal sperm. This paper reviews the progress made in this field and the preventive measures against the injury.

Litsea cubeba is one of aromatic medicinal plant belonging to family Lauraceae. The roots, stems and fruits of L. cubeba have been widely applied as folk medicines in some districts in China for relieving rheumatism and cold, regulating Qi (meridian) to alleviate pain. Previous studies revealed that this species contains major alkaloids, in specific aporphines, and minor flavonoids, lignans as well. Related pharmacological investigations demonstrated its activities and clinical applications on cardiovascular diseases, anti-cancer, against rheumatoid arthritis, relieving asthma and anti-allergic effects, as anti-oxidants, and so on. As an effort for further exploration of this bioactive ingredients and potential drug development, this paper summarizes most phytochemical and pharmacological results. Further, future prospects are also included.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical features, pathologic diagnosis and laboratory test of otologic manifestation in Wegener's granulomatosis (WG).
METHODSFourteen eases of WG with ear involvement were reviewed. The clinical course, method of treatment and outcomes in all cases were evaluated. Diagnosis of WG was made when the patients had clinical findings, clear histologic findings and a positive titer of antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies (ANCA). RESULTS In all 14 cases, the most frequent finding was chronic otitis media Sensorineural hearing loss was present in 1 case and facial nerve paralysis was present in 2 cases separately. There were 5 patients whose otologic manifestations were the primary involvement of WG. Fourteen cases had positive histologic diagnosis of WC while 13 cases were confirmed positive for ANCA. All patients were treated with glucocorticoids, immunosuppressive drugs, and finally got marked improvement.
CONCLUSIONSWG should he included in the differential diagnosis in cases of atypical inflammatory states of the ear, facial nerve paralysis and sensorineural hearing loss. Early diagnosis was made basing on the histologic findings and a positive titer of ANCA. Appropriate treatment were important to improve the otologic manifestations of WG.
