The electrical potential difference (PD) was measured across the wall of reverted intestinal sacs. The effect of the effective component of Rhubarb on transmural potential related to Na+ and glucose transport were investigated. It was found that total glucoside of Rhubarb, Emodin and Sen-nosides decreased the PD. The experimental resuilts provide new scientific basis for explaining the mechanism of Rhubarb's purgative action.

[Objective] Antifungal action of fat-soluble extracts from Bulbus Allii Cepae (BAC) by different extraction technology on 16 strains of dermatophytes was observed to supply evidence for the optimization of extraction technology for BAC. [Methods] Four methods were used for the extraction of fat-soluble extract from BAC and the antifungal action of the extract was tested by medium dilution method. [Results] Fat-soluble extract freshly extracted from BAC by ether had a strong in-vitro antifungal action and its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was not over 6.25 mL?L-1 against 10 strains of fungi including Shanghai Epidermophytom floccosum and its MIC against other strains ranged 12.5 -50.0 mL?L-1. The minimum fungicidal concentration of fat-soluble extract freshly extracted from BAC by ether was as the same as MIC. Fat-soluble extract freshly extracted by ether had no antifungal action after water removal by heating. [Conclusion] The extraction technology of freshly extracted by ether without heating is a better method for BAC and the fat-soluble extract extracted by this method has a better antifungal action.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect and safety of tigecycline on in patients with complicated intra-abdominal infections. Methods 52 cases of patients with complicated intra-abdominal infection were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups.26 cases in the control group were given routine anti-infection treatment, and 26 cases in the treatment group were treated with conventional anti-infection combined with tigecycline. The CD molecules and NK cell level, serum lactate and procalcitonin levels, and the clinical efficacy and safety were compared after the treatment between two groups. Results The effective rate of control group ( 69.23%) was lower than the treatment group ( 92.31%) with statistical significance (P<0.05), the levels of CD3 +, CD4 +/CD8 +, CD4 +and NK cells of the treatment group after treatment were higher than the control group, the level of CD8 +was lower than the control group after treatment, procalcitonin and serum lactate levels were lower than the control group, with statistical significance ( P<0.05 ) , there was no difference in adverse reactions between the two groups. Conclusion Tigecycline could improve the therapeutic effect of complicated intra-abdominal infections, reduce the lactate and procalcitonin levels with high safety.

Ferroptosis is a new type of programmed cell death that is closely associated with the pathophysiological process of ischemic stroke. Ferroptosis inhibitors can improve neurological function and provide neuroprotection after cerebral ischemia. Therefore, the role of ferroptosis in ischemic stroke and the regulation of ferroptosis to intervene in the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke have become a research hotspot. This article reviews the molecular mechanism and potential therapeutic targets of ferroptosis during ischemic stroke, hoping to provide new perspectives for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

Objective: To study the anti-inflammatory effect and mechanism of Gutong plasters in acute inflammatory model of rats. Methods:Totally 60 SD rats were randomly divided into the blank group, the model group,Gutong plasters at low, medium and high dose groups(0.594,1.188 and 2.376 g/patch containing crude drug 0.48,0.96 and 1.92 g,respectively) and prednisone ace-tate group(0.005 4 g·kg-1). The acute inflammation model was prepared by injecting 5% formaldehyde into right side of foot plan-tar. And then, the anti-inflammatory effect was evaluated by measuring the foot plantar volume. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the levels of nitric oxide(NO),histamine(HIS) and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) in serum and inflam-matory tissue, the levels of prostaglandin E2(PGE2),tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β) and interleu-kin 6 (IL-6) in inflammatory tissue were also determined. Pathological changes were observed through the pathological sections pre-pared by HE staining. Results:When compared with the model group,Gutong plasters could significantly inhibit the swelling of foot plantar in inflammatory rats(P<0.01). At the same time,Gutong plasters could significantly reduce the levels of NO,5-HT and HIS in serum and inflammatory tissue in different degrees(P<0.05 or P<0.01),significantly reduce the content of PGE2in inflammatory tissue (P<0.05 or P<0.01),increase the content of IL-6 in inflammatory tissue and improve the pathological changes of inflammato-ry tissues (the pathological score was significantly reduced). In partical indictor changes,Gutong plasters and prednisone acetate showed an equal effect. In addition,Gutong plasters didn't show significant dose-dependent manner in inhibiting foot swelling,affect-ing inflammatory mediators and improving pathological changes(P>0.05). Conclusion:Gutong plasters have better anti-inflammato-ry effect in the acute inflammation model induced by formaldehyde in rats. The anti-inflammatory effect may be associated with the de-crease of the levels of NO,5-HT and HIS in serum and inflammatory tissue, the decrease of the content of PGE2and the increase of the content of IL-6 in inflammatory tissue. In addition, the anti-inflammatory effect may be relevant to improving the local inflammatory tis-sue subcutaneous edema and inflammatory cell infiltration.
