To investigate the association between Helicobacter pylori ( Hp ) infection and type 2 diabetes.Total 4 129 health check up subjects aged (49.1 ±11.3) years (18-92 years), including 2 649 males and 1 480 females were enrolled in this cross-section study.Hp infection was confirmed by 13 C-urea breath test;type 2 diabetes mellitus was diagnosed according to WHO criteria (1999).Single factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to evaluate the association between Hp affection and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes.Hp infection rate in diabetic group was significantly higher than that in non-diabetic group (45.6%vs.39.0%, P<0.05).Hp infection rate in subjects with newly diagnosed diabetes was highest than those with previously diagnosed diabetes and non-diabetic subjects ( P<0.05).The glycosylated hemoglobin level in Hp infection group was higher than that in non infection group [ ( 5.88 ±0.64 )% vs.( 5.62 ± 0.88)%, P<0.05];the fasting plasma glucose and postprandial blood glucose levels in Hp infection group were also higher than those in non-infection group ( P<0.05 ).Logistic regression analysis showed that Hp infection was one of the independent risk factors of type 2 diabetes (OR=2.002, 95%CI:1.564-2.563, P<0.05).The study indicates that Hp infection is closely associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective To clarify the relationship between CT120,a novel human plasma membrane-associated gene,and the proliferation of lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549.Methods Expression vector(pcDNA3.1)containing antisense oligonucleotides of CT120 was constructed and transfected into the adenocarcinoma cell line A549.RT-PCR and Western blot detected the expression of CT120.Meantime,flow cytometry and soft agarose colony formation were applied for cell proliferation,and P53,CyclinD1 and CDK4 were detected by RT-PCR.ResultspcDNA3.1 containing antisense oligonucleotides of CT120 was successfully constructed and inhibited the expression of CT120 effectively by RT-PCR and Western blot.The expression of P53 was up-regulated and the expression of CyclinD1 and CDK4 were down-regulated.Conclusion The down-regulation of CT120 expression by antisense oligonucleotides technique may be a potential drug target for treatment of lung cancer.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of minocycline hydrochloride ointment combined with metronidazole film in the treatment of periodontitis and their effects on C-reactive protein and elastase levels in the gingival crevicular fluid.Methods:76 patients with periodontitis who received treatment in Jiaxing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2019 to January 2020 were included in this study. They were randomly allocated to undergo treatment with metronidazole film (control group, n = 38) or minocycline hydrochloride ointment plus metronidazole film (observation group, n = 38) for 4 weeks. We compared clinical efficacy, periodontal system examination indexes (gingival index, periodontal probing pocket depth, gingival bleeding index, plaque index, loss of attachment), gingival crevicular fluid biochemical markers (C-reactive protein, elastase in the pellet, elastase in the supernatant) measured before and after treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions, and the recurrence rate within half a year after treatment between the two groups. Results:The total response rate was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group [97.37% (37/38) vs. 78.95% (30/38), χ2 = 6.17 , P < 0.05]. Gingival index, periodontal probing pocket depth, gingival bleeding index, plaque index, and loss of attachment measured after treatment were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (all P < 0.001). C-reactive protein, elastase in the pellet, and elastase in the supernatant measured after treatment were (5.31 ± 1.19) μg/L, (0.70 ± 0.20) Abs/mL, (0.48 ± 0.19) Abs/mL respectively in the observation group, which were significantly lower than those in the control group [(7.92 ± 1.27) μg/L, (1.15 ± 0.52) Abs/mL, (1.12 ± 0.31) Abs/mL, t = 9.24, 4.97, 10.85, all P < 0.001]. The recurrence rate within half a year in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [2.63% (1/38) vs. 20% (6/38), χ2 = 3.93, P < 0.05]. There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups ( P > 0.05). Conclusion:Minocycline hydrochloride ointment combined with metronidazole film is safe and effective in the treatment of periodontitis. The combined therapy help downregulate the levels of C-reactive protein, elastase in the pellet, elastase in the supernatant of the gingival crevicular fluid, alleviate inflammation, improve the periodontal status, and reduce the recurrence rate.

Objective:To investigate the effects of McLaughlin Bennett Treriri (MBT) straight wire technique on the content of periostin in gingival crevicular fluid of the maxillary first molar.Methods:Ninety patients with malocclusion who were treated with MBT straight wire technique in Jiaxing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February to September 2021 were included in this study. The patients were divided into group A (13-18 years old) and group B (30-35 years old) according to age, with 45 patients in each group. According to the random number table method, patients in group A were divided into 100 g subgroup (group A1, n = 22) and 150 g subgroup (group A2, n = 23), and patients in group B were divided into 100 g subgroup (group B1, n = 22) and 150 g sub group (group B2, n = 23). Effects of age on the content of periostin in gingival crevicular fluid and bite force were observed. The antagonistic effect of periostin in gingival crevicular fluid during the application of different corrective forces was evaluated based on the changes in bite force, bone mineral density and height of the jaw after the application of force. The incidence of complications was calculated. Results:The level of periostin and bite force in group A were (1 249.38 ± 89.29) pmol/L and (1 038.37 ± 79.54) N, respectively, which were significantly higher than (831.54 ± 76.38) pmol /L and (921.45 ± 81.36) N in group B ( t = 23.86, 6.89, both P < 0.05). After 1 and 3 months of treatment, the amplitude of improvement in bite force, jaw bone density, and jaw height in group A2 were greater than those in group A2 ( t = 2.92, 6.39, 0.64, 1.30, 1.07, 2.48, all P < 0.05). After 7 and 14 days of treatment, the level of periostin was increased in both group B1 and B2 and its level in group B2 was significantly higher than that in group B1 ( t = 0.59, 1.89, both P < 0.05). After 1 month of treatment, there were no significant differences in bite force, jaw bone density and jaw height between groups B1 and B2 (all P > 0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the amplitude of improvement in bite force, jaw bone density and jaw height were greater in group B2 than those in group B1 ( t = 0.27, 4.02, 3.07, 1.52, 0.06, 1.57, P < 0.05). There were 3 patients with loose teeth, 2 patients with pulp reaction, 1 patient with mucosal ulcer, and 2 patients with secondary dental caries during treatment. The incidence of complications was 8.89%. Conclusion:MBT straight wire technique is effective and safe in the treatment of patients with dental deformities. The level of periostin in gingival crevicular fluid of the maxillary first molar and bite force decrease with age. The corrective force can increase and activate the expression of periostin, thereby promoting periodontal wound healing and regeneration, and increasing patients' bite force, jaw bone density and height.

Objective To study the expression of amplified in breast cancer 1 (AIB1) protein in the tissues of ovarian carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological factors,and to analyze the predictive value of AIB1 in clinical prognosis of patients with ovarian carcinoma.Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of AIB1 protein in the tissues of 112 patients with ovarian carcinoma,and compare the AIB1 protein expression levels of patients with various clinicopathological features.The survival analysis was conducted by Kaplan-Meier method.The multivariate analysis was performed to explore the relationship between the expression of AIB1 protein and clinical prognosis of the patients with ovarian carcinoma.Results The positive expression rate of AIB1 protein in the tissues of ovarian carcinoma was 67.9％ (76/112).The positive expression rate of AIB1 protein was associated with the degree of the tumor differentiation (x2 =32.483,P ＜0.001) and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging (x2 =14.324,P ＜0.001),but not with the age (x2 =0.001,P =0.989) or pathological type (x2 =0.106,P =0.745).Compared with the patients with the higher expression of AIB1,the median disease-free survival of patients with the lower expression of AIB1 was longer (48.7 months vs.36.7 months,x2 =3.026,P =0.022),and there was also extended trend in the median overall survival (60.2 months vs.43.6 months,x2 =0.916,P =0.055).The multivariate survival analysis showed that FIGO staging (RR =3.396,P =0.021) and AIB1 expression status (RR =1.407,P =0.049) were independent prognostic factors affecting the survival of patients.Conclusion The overexpression of AIB1 protein is correlated with the degree of differentiation and FIGO staging.Patients with a high expression of AIB1 have poor predicted prognosis.The expression of AIB1 protein can be considered as one of the prognostic indicators in the patients with ovarian carcinoma.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics and long-term outcomes with multicenter study for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in children over 10 years old and adolescents. Method: Newly diagnosed ALL patients aged from 10 to 18 years old in three hospitals were included in the study from May 1^st 2005 to April 30^th 2015. They were received ALL-2005/2009 protocol following up to December 31^st 2016. The clinical characteristics, outcomes and the prognostic analysis were evaluated between the two protocols. Results: Totally, 237 patients were involved in the study, 76 cases for ALL-2005 and 161 cases for ALL-2009 protocol. Complete remission (CR) after induction therapy was 94.5%. 64 (28.6%) patients relapsed with a median time of 14.5 months and 70 (29.5%) patients passed away during the following time. In long-term follow-up, the 5-year event-free survival (EFS) and 5-year overall survival (OS) of ALL patients were (63.1±3.3)% and (68.4±3.2)%. The 7-year EFS and OS were (61.0±3.5)% and (67.6±3.3)%.The 5-year EFS of intermediate risk group in ALL-2005 and ALL-2009 protocol were (73.6±6.1)% and (71.7±4.3)% with no difference (χ²=0.064, P=0.801). The 5-year EFS of high risk group in two protocols were (27.6±9.6)% and (33.9±9.3)%, showing no significant difference (χ²=0.296, P=0.586). Five years relapsed rate of two protocols were (33.8±5.7)% and (32.6±4.1)% with no difference (χ²=0.055, P=0.815). The mortalities were 36.8% and 29.8% separately (χ²=2.869, P=0.090). Univariate analysis indicated that age, male, risk, BCR/ABL translocation/t(9;22) and resistant to induction were risk prognostic factors in long-term survival (χ²=4.764, 4.796, 46.410, 9.560, 25.450; P=0.029, 0.029, <0.001, 0.049, <0.001). Cox multivariate analysis showed male, risk and resistant to induction were independent risk prognostic factors (RR=1.790, 2.727, 2.719; P=0.021, 0.000, 0.012). Conclusion Protocol ALL-2009 enhanced the chemotherapy intensity in intermediate risk group with no benefit of survival. BCR-ABL fusion or t(9;22) translocation was still the risk factor of prognosis. TKI inhibitor used in these patients could improve survival. EFS rate was increased a little and death rate was decreased in ALL-2009 protocol with no significant lower relapsed rate comparing with ALL-2005 protocol.

Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and prognostic factors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) enrolled in Shanghai Children's Medical Center-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-2005(SCMC-ALL-2005) multicenter study. Methods: Between May 2005 and December 2014, 1 497 newly diagnosed ALL patients were enrolled and treated in 5 hospitals of SCMC-ALL-2005 study group, using risk-stratified SCMC-ALL-2005 protocol. Risk group classification and treatment intensity were based on clinical features, genetic abnormalities, early response to treatment and levels of minimal residual disease (MRD). Kaplan-Meier method was used to generate overall survival (OS) and event-free survival(EFS) curves. Cox proportional hazards models were used for multivariate analyses. Results: The patients were followed up to December 31, 2016, the median follow-up time was 69 months (24-141 months). The 5-year and 10-year OS rates were (80.0±1.0)% and (76.0±2.0)%. The 5-year and 10-year EFS rates were (69.0±1.0)% and (66.0±2.0)%. The 5-year and 10-year relapse rates were (23.0±1.0)% and (25.0±2.0)%. The 5-year OS and EFS for low risk (LR), intermediate risk (IR) and high risk (HR) were (91.1±1.4)% and (83.3±1.8)%, (79.2±1.5)% and (68.9±1.7)%, (52.9±4.4)% and (30.0±3.8)%, respectively. MRD negative status (<0.01%) on day 55 was seen in 792 patients (82.8%) and positive MRD on day 55 was associated with poor prognosis (OR=1.9, 95%CI: 1.3-2.7, P=0.001). Twenty-four HR patients received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and 17(70.8%) of them were alive and in remission. A total of 164 severe adverse events occurred, 46 of them died, treatment-related mortality was 3.1%. Conclusions In this large sample research, the overall outcome for multi-center SCMC-ALL-2005 study was favorable. This helps to promote the standardized treatment of childhood ALL to the whole country. MRD results on day 55 of induction therapy have important prognostic and therapeutic implications.

〓 Objectives: To analyze the pathological and clinical features of nasal respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartoma（REAH）, and summarize the diagnostic points, to improve the experience of diagnosis and treatment. Methods:The clinical data of 16 patients with REAH were analyzed retrospectively. The clinical manifestations, pathological features, imaging features, surgical treatment and prognosis were summarized. Results:16 cases of REAH were studied, 10 cases（62.50%） were associated with sinusitis, 1 case（6.25%） was associated with inverted papilloma, 1 case（6.25%） was associated with hemangioma. 5 cases（31.25%） had a history of nasal sinus surgery, including 1 case with 3 times of nasal sinus surgery, 1 case with 2 times of nasal sinus surgery, 3 cases with 1 time of nasal sinus surgery; 10 cases（62.50%） occurred in the bilateral olfactory cleft, 2 cases（12.50%） in the unilateral olfactory cleft, 3 cases（18.75%） in the unilateral middle turbinate, 1 case（6.25%） in the nasopharynx. All 16 patients were pathologically diagnosed as REAH. In the patients with lesions located in bilateral olfactory fissures, symmetrical widening of olfactory fissures and lateral displacement of middle turbinate were observed on preoperative sinus CT. The average width of bilateral olfactory fissures was （9.9±2.70） mm. The ratio of wide to narrow olfactory cleft was 1.21 ± 0.19. There was no significant difference in Lund-Mackay score between the two sides（P>0.05）. All patients underwent surgery under general anesthesia and nasal endoscopy. The follow-up period ranged from 1 to 66 months, and no recurrence occurred. Conclusion:Preoperative diagnosis of REAH is facilitated by the combination of clinical manifestations and endoscopic and imaging features. Endoscopic complete resection can achieve a good therapeutic effect.

Homoharringtonine (HHT), a plant alkaloid from Cephalotaxus harringtonia, exhibits a unique anticancer mechanism and has been widely used in China to treat patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) since the 1970s. Trial SCMC-AML-2009 presented herein was a randomized clinical study designed based on our previous findings that pediatric AML patients younger than two years old may benefit from HHT-containing chemotherapy regimens. Patients randomized to arm A were treated with a standard chemotherapy regimen comprising mainly of anthracyclines and cytarabine (Ara-C), whereas patients in arm B were treated with HHT-containing regimens in which anthracyclines in all but the initial induction therapy were replaced by HHT. From February 2009 to November 2015, 59 patients less than 2 years old with de novo AML (other than acute promyelocytic leukemia) were recruited. A total of 42 patients achieved a morphologic complete remission (CR) after the first course, with similar rates in both arms (70.6% vs.72.0%). At the end of the follow-up period, 40 patients remained in CR and 5 patients underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in CR, which could not be considered as events but censors. The 5-year event-free survival (EFS) was 60.2%±9.6% for arm A and 88.0%±6.5% for arm B (P= 0.024). Patients in arm B experienced shorter durations of leukopenia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia and had a lower risk of infection during consolidation chemotherapy with high-dosage Ara-C. Consequently, the homoharringtonine-based regimen achieved excellent EFS and alleviated hematologic toxicity for children aged younger than 2 years with de novo AML compared with the anthracycline-based regimen.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a complication in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The Chinese Children's Cancer Group-ALL-2015 protocol was carried out in China, and epidemiology, clinical characteristics, and risk factors associated with VTE were analyzed. We collected data on VTE in a multi-institutional clinical study of 7640 patients with ALL diagnosed in 20 hospitals from January 2015 to December 2019. First, VTE occurred in 159 (2.08%) patients, including 90 (56.6%) during induction therapy and 108 (67.92%) in the upper extremities. T-ALL had a 1.74-fold increased risk of VTE (95% CI 1.08-2.8, P = 0.022). Septicemia, as an adverse event of ALL treatment, can significantly promote the occurrence of VTE (P < 0.001). Catheter-related thrombosis (CRT) accounted for 75.47% (n = 120); and, symptomatic VTE, 58.49% (n = 93), which was more common in patients aged 12-18 years (P = 0.023), non-CRT patients (P < 0.001), or patients with cerebral thrombosis (P < 0.001). Of the patients with VTE treated with anticoagulation therapy (n = 147), 4.08% (n = 6) had bleeding. The VTE recurrence rate was 5.03% (n = 8). Patients with VTE treated by non-ultrasound-guided venous cannulation (P = 0.02), with residual thrombus (P = 0.006), or with short anticoagulation period (P = 0.026) had high recurrence rates. Thus, preventing repeated venous puncture and appropriately prolonged anticoagulation time can reduce the risk of VTE recurrence.
