Objective To study the effect of motivational interview on health education to patients with diabetes. Methods Fifty patients with diabetes were randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group by using random digit table. The control group was given routine health education and the latter motivational interview. The two groups were compared in terms of self-efficacy and fasting blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin indexes.Result The self-efficacy,fasting blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin indexes in the intervention group were all better than those of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Motivational interview can effectively improve the patients’self-efficacy,do good for controling blood sugar level and meanwhile improve the quality of health education.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the infection status and susceptibility of mycoplasma to 14 antibiotic agents. METHODS Mycoplasma was cultured and its susceptibility from 3577 patients with genitourinary tract infections were statistically analyzed. RESULTS The positive rate of mycoplasma was 43.9%.The positive rate of Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu),Mycoplasma hominis (Mh ) and Uu+Mh were 33.4%,1.5% and 8.9%,respectively. The positive rate of Uu was significantly higher than that of Mh and Uu+Mh (P

Chronic non-communicable disease is a major public health problem affecting the health of residents in china. Evidence shows that, in addition to four major risk factors, i.e. unreasonable dietary, lack of physical activity, smoking and drinking, epidemic and severe outcome of chronic disease is associated with many infectious diseases. Increasingly cancers have been shown to have an infectious etiology. There is also a significantly increased risk of infectious disease such as influenza, pneumonia and other infectious disease in people with pre-existing chronic non-communicable diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and lung diseases. And more than that, there is a high risk of susceptibility to death and severe outcomes among them. Epidemiological studies has confirmed, that through targeted vaccine inoculation, liver cancer, cervical cancer can be effectively prevented, while influenza or pneumonia vaccine are related to reduced risk of hospitalization or death and hospitalization expenses regarding with a variety of chronic diseases. World Health Organization and several other professional organizations have put forward recommendations on vaccine inoculation of chronic disease patients. Programs targeting infectious factors are also an important aspect of chronic diseases prevention and control, therefore, related researches need to be strengthened in the future.

STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective case-control study. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of antidepressants on blood loss and transfusion requirements in spinal surgery patients. OVERVIEW OF LITERATURE: Several studies have shown an increase in perioperative bleeding in orthopedic surgery patients on antidepressant drug therapy, yet no study has examined the impact of these agents on spinal surgery patients. METHODS: Charts of patients who underwent single-level spinal fusion (posterior lumbar interbody fusion with posterior instrumentation) performed by five fellowship-trained surgeons at a tertiary spine center between 2008 and 2013, were retrospectively reviewed. Exclusion criteria included select medical comorbidities, select drug therapy, and Amercian Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status Classification score of greater than 2. Serotonergic antidepressants were examined in multivariate analysis to assess their predictive value on estimated blood loss and risk of transfusion. RESULTS: A total of 235 patients, of which 52% were female, were included. Allogeneic blood was transfused in 7% of patients. The average estimated blood loss was 682±463 mL. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors were taken by 10% of all patients. Multivariable regression analysis showed that intake of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors was a significant predictor for blood loss (average increase of 34%, p=0.015) and for the need of allogeneic blood transfusion (odds ratio, 4.550; p=0.029). CONCLUSIONS: There was a statistically significant association between selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and both increased blood loss and risk of allogeneic red blood cell transfusion. Surgeons and perioperative providers should take these findings into account when assessing patients' preoperative risk for blood loss and transfusion.
