Magnetic manipulation of particles/cells in microfluidic chips is a promising research field.This paper stated the operation mechanism and the main means of manipulation, including separation, concentration, capture, arrangement and assembly.Especially, the concept of particles/cells separation was emphasized with different criteria, like sizes, shapes, and magnetic properties.In addition, the effects of the channel geometry, the intensity and distribution of the magnetic field, and the types of magnetic liquid (paramagnetic salt solutions and ferrofluids) on the performance of the magnetic manipulation were also compared.The prospective to the prospect of magnetic manipulation about particles/cells in microfluidic chip was also depicted.

Intravenous thrombolysis is the only treatment that has the evidence of evidence-based medicine in acute ischemic stroke. However, the narrow time window has limited the treatment opportunities of many patients. Transcranial ultrasound thrombolysis is a very promising thrombolysis-assisted method, and transcranial ultrasound plus microbubble-assisted thrombolysis is the research hotspot in recent years. At present, more suitable ultrasonic instruments for thrombolysis and a number of ways of ultrasound-assisted thrombolysis are being developed.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of clinical pharmacists participating in disease management of chronic heart failure(CHF). METHODS:A total of 180 CHF inpatients selected from cardiovascular medicine department of our hospital during Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2014 were divided into control group and pharmacist management group according to random number table,with 90 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment. The pharmacist management group additionally received indi-vidualized pharmaceutical care,such as pharmaceutical monitoring,psychological counseling,medication education and 6-month follow-up. The comprehensive self-care ability of the 2 groups were compared on admission and on discharge;re-hospitalization and mortality were compared between 2 groups within 6 months after discharged;the patients’NYHA classification,LVEF,plas-ma level of NT-proBNP and quality of life were compared between 2 groups on admission and 6 months after discharge. RE-SULTS:There was no statistical significance in the cognition of patients to disease,self-care ability,medication compliance score and total comprehensive self-care ability score between 2 groups on admission (P>0.05). Each score and total score of 2 groups were better on discharge than on admission,and the pharmacist management group was better than control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05). Within 6 months after discharge,re-hospitalization rate of pharmacist management group was significantly lower than that of control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in mortality rate be-tween 2 groups (P>0.05). There was no statistical significance in NYHA classification,LVEF,plasma level of NT-proBNP be-tween 2 groups on admission(P>0.05). 6 months after discharge,the above 3 indexes of pharmacist management group as well as NYHA classification and plasma level of NT-proBNP of control group were improved significantly compared to on admission;NYHA classification,LVEF and plasma level of NT-proBNP of pharmacist management group were better than those of control group at corresponding period,with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in social limit,mood, symptom score and total score of life quality between 2 groups on admission(P>0.05). 6 months after discharge,each score and total score of 2 groups were all better than on admission,and the pharmacist management group was better than control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:The participation of clinical pharmacists in the disease management of CHF can significantly improve comprehensive self-care ability,decrease re-hospitalization rate,ameliorate cardiac function and en-hance the quality of life.

Objective To analyze the relationship between the levels of plasma total homocysteine (Hcy) and umbilical arterial with color doppler ultrasound with the severity of preeclampsia(PE).Methods A total of 70 cases of the third trimester of normal pregnancy, 72 cases of mild PE, and 66 cases of severe PE were selected.Then plasma Hcy levels and umbilical arterial with color doppler ultrasound were detected.Results Hcy levels were statistically significant difference among the normal control group,mild PE group,and severe PE group((8.950±0.585), (11.116±0.615), (14.648±0.620) μmol/L,P＜0.05).Umbilical artery blood flow parameter S/D values in severe PE group was significantly higher in mild PE group and in contrg.1 group (3.43 ±0.72 vs.2.86 ± 0.82 vs 2.75 ± 0.56, P＜ 0.05), while the control group, mild PE group had no significant difference(P＞0.05).Resistance index(RI) ,Pulsatility index(PI) in mild PE group and severe PE group were significantly higher than control group(0.60±0.05,0.78±0.07 vs.0.57±0.06;1.24±0.21,1.47±0.64 vs.0.67±0.35), and the differences among three groups were significant(P＜0.05), while the mild PE, severe PE group had no significant difference(P＞0.05).Hcy of mild PE group was positively correlated with S/D, RI and PI(r=0.548,P=0.009;r=0.587,P=0.008;r=0.324,P=0.02).Hcy of severe PE group was positively correlated with S/D,RI and PI(r=0.752,P=0.001;r=0.627,P=0.003;r =0.438,P=0.024).Hcy and the severity of PE was positively correlated (r =0.450, P ＜ 0.05), S/D and the severity of PE was positively correlated(r=0.316, P =0.002).RI, PI and the severity of PE was no correlation (r =0.024, P =0.726;r =0.054,P =0.649).Conclusion The levels of Hcy and S/D were related to the severity of PE.To reduce Hcy,and monitor S/D were new ways for the diagnosis and treatment of pre-eclampsia.

Objective • To investigate the effect of anemarrhena saponin (ZMS) on mRNA level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and relevant mechanism in oxidative stress damage of SH-SY5Y cells. Methods • SH-SY5Y cells treated with H2O2 were chosen as cell models of oxidative stress. Cell viability was determined using cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8). The mRNA levels of BDNF and its important transcripts were detected by quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR). The histone deacetylases (HDACs) activity fluorescence quantification assay kit was used to measure the effect of ZMS on HDACs activity. Western blotting was used to detect the protein expression levels of acetylated histone H3, acetylated histone H4, specific acetylation site-related proteins, and HDAC1/2/3. Results • qPCR showed that ZMS could increase the mRNA levels of BDNF and its transcript in the cell models. Western blotting showed that ZMS pretreatment could increase the protein levels of acetylated histone H3, acetylated histone H4 and acetylated histone H3K14, and there was no significant effect on protein levels of HDAC1/2/3. In addition, HDACs activity fluorescence quantification assay kit showed that ZMS could inhibit HDACs activity significantly. Conclusion • ZMS can increase the mRNA levels of BDNF and its transcript in oxidative stress damage cell models, which may be related to the regulation of histone acetylation level

Objective To understand the status of the life mcaning among medical students.Methods Totally 300 students in our school were measured by the scale of purpose in life test (PIL)to analyze the status and influencing factors of life meaning.The questionnaire data were analyzed by using two independent samples t-test,One-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression.Results The average score of the life meaning survey of medical students was 84,the life goal and life value dimension scores were relatively high and the life attitude and life independent dimension scores were low.Meanwhile,the life mean in scores were higher in senior students than in junior students ( P =0.003 ),higher in undergraduate students than in college students (P =0.021 ),higher in students from urban cities than in students from rural areas ( P =0.004),higher in student leaders than in non student leaders (P =0.001 ),higher in students liking their majors than in students disliking their majors (P =0.003).Conclusions The formation of medical students' life meaning is influenced by a variety of factors.Educators need to seize the important period of students' growth and launch some targeted educational activities.Meanwhile,in order to enhance the medical students' life meaning,it is also necessary to consolidate the professional education,increase students' self-identity and guide them to correctlv view social problems.

Cooperation hydrogen production was carried out using Rhodopseudomonas sp. DT and Enterobacter aerogenes. The effects of the initial ratio of Rhodopseudomonas sp. DT and E. aerogenes, culture temperature, and carbon source on the cooperation hydrogen production were investigated. The results suggested that cooperation hydrogen production rate was highly affected by the initial ratio of Rhodopseudomonas sp. DT and E. aerogenes. The mixed bacteria of Rhodopseudomonas sp. DT and E. aerogenes with 1:1 initial ratio benefited to the cooperation hydrogen production, which led the hydrogen production rate and duration of gas production to 3.1 mol H2/mol glucose and 81 h, respectively. The pH dynamics analysis of culture medium further discovered that the pH of the mixed bacteria with 1:1 initial ratio changed from 6 to 7 smaller than other conditions, which was probably fitted to produce hydrogen. Furthermore, the mixed bacteria with 1:1 initial ratio had the higher hydrogen production efficiency at temperatures of 28?C and 37?C than at 20?C, and without any hydrogen production at temperature of 50?C. The carbon sources of glucose, succinate acid, malic acid could be used to produce hydrogen by the mixed bacteria. Even the soluble starch, unused by Rhodopseudomonas sp. DT, was also decomposed by the mixed bacteria to produce hydrogen with the conversion efficiency of 8.22%. The glucose was the optimal carbon resource, and the conversion efficiency could reach to 36.11%. The results, further, implied that the cooperation hydrogen production could enlarge the use of the carbon sources.

AIM: To observe of cataract phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in patients with postoperative tear film, and to explore its clinical significance.
METHODS: A total of 106 patients ( 140 eyes ) undergone phacoemulsification were randomly chosen. Subjective dry foreign body sensation were observed at six nodes of period 1d, 1, 2, 3wk, and 1mo. Corneal fluorescein ( FSC ) , basal tear secretion ( SIT ) and tear film break-up time ( BUT) were used to detect functional changes of the tear film. And the correlation between tear film stability and corneal sensitivity was analyzed.
RESULTS: Dry eye cumulative score of postoperative 1d, 1, 2wk was higher than preoperative ( t= 8. 53, P=0.000;t=6. 27, P=0. 000; t=9. 02, P=0. 000). There was no significant difference in dry eye cumulative score at postoperative 3wk, 1mo compared with preoperative ( t=1.91, P= 0. 824; t= 1. 27, P= 0. 069). Corneal epithelial fluorescein staining points of postoperative 1d, 1, 2wk were increased compared with preoperative (t=11. 64, P=0. 000;t=9. 61, P=0. 000; t=8. 87, P=0. 001). There was no significant difference in corneal epithelial fluorescein staining points of postoperative 3wk and 1mo compared with preoperative (t=2. 52, P=0. 746; t=1. 16, P=0. 094). Corneal sensitivity detection values of postoperative 1d, 1, 2wk were significantly higher than that of preoperative (t=9.61, P=0.000;t=9.27, P=0.000;t=11.39, P=0.024), and there was no difference postoperative 3wk and 1mo compared with preoperative (t=1. 19, P=0. 562;t=2. 17, P=0. 501).
CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation will reduce the tear film stability in the short term, but after a long rest will be improved to a certain extent.

Objective:This study investigates the significance of human papilloma virus (HPV) subtype detection in opportunis-tic screening for cervical cancer in Uygur and Han women. Methods:Flow-through hybridization gene chip and thin-prep cytology test were used to detect HPV in cervical cell samples from 1140 females. A total of 428 patients had undergone cervical biopsies through colposcopy. The diagnostic results of the HPV subtype test for cervical lesions were evaluated on the basis of histology. Results:Total HPV infection rate for the 1140 cervical samples was 30.3%. The most common HPV subtypes were HPV16, HPV58, HPV52, HPV18, and HPV45. HPV52 infection rate was higher in Han women than in Uygur women, with statistically significant differences between the two (χ2=8.737, P=0.003). Among these cervical samples, the single HPV infection rate was 22.4%(255/1140), whereas the multiple HPV infection rate was 6.1% (69/1140). The sensitivity and specificity of the HPV subtype test for cervical lesions were 86.4% and 24.5%, respectively. The positive and negative predictive values were 58.5%and 59.3%. Conclusion:HPV infection subtypes in Ugyur and Han women have unique characteristics. Subtype detection is important in opportunistic screening for cervical cancer.

This study aims to detect early changes of kidney in patients with primary hypertension by 3.0 T functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). 26 patients with primary hypertension (hypertension group) and 33 healthy volunteers (control group) underwent conventional and functional magnetic resonance scans, which included blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) MRI, diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). We measured renal cortical thickness (CT), parenchymal thickness (PT), and functional values of renal cortex and medulla including R2* value, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value and fractional anisotropy (FA) value in each group, and then calculated the cortical/parenchymal thickness ratio (CPR). Compared with those in the control group, CT and CPR in hypertension group were larger (P < 0.01), cortical and medullar R2* values increased (P < 0.01) whereas medullar FA values decreased (P < 0.05). It could be well concluded that noninvasive 3.0 T functional MRI would have important clinical significance in identifying early abnormalities of kidney in hypertension patients.
