Objective To explore the relationship between TSLC-1 protein expression and the progression and carcinogenesis of human papillary thyroid carcinogenesis. Methods Expressions of TSLC-1 protein in 20 pieces of benign thyroid lesions and 40 pieces of papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues were examined by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression of TSLC-1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma (9/40) was lower than that in benign thyroid lesions (22.50% versus 90.00%, P < 0.05). Expression of TSLC-1 was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and TNM in papillary thyroid carcinoma (P < 0.05). Conclusions Expression of TSLC-1 is closely related with carcinogenesis , lymph node metastasis , and clinical stage in papillary thyroid carcinoma.

Purpose To explore the relationship between tumor suppressor in lung cancer 1 (TSLC1) protein expression and the carci-nogenesis and progression of human gastric carcinoma. Methods Expression of TSLC1 protein in 20 normal gastric mucosa, 30 intra-epithelial neoplasias ( IN) and 50 gastric cancers was examined by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression of TSLC1 in gas-tric cancer was 14. 00% which was lower than that in IN (46. 67%) and normal gastric mucosa (95. 00%, P<0. 05). TSLC1 ex-pression in high-grade IN was lower than that in low-grade IN and normal gastric mucosa (P<0. 05). TSLC1 expression in high-grade IN and gastric cancer was of no significant difference ( P>0. 05 ) . Expression of TSLC1 was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis and TNM in gastric cancer (P<0. 05). Conclusion The expression of TSLC1 is closely related to carcinogenesis, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage in gastric cancer, which suggest that TSLC1 may be a new target for the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2017;25(3):228-232
Epidemiological data, clinical observation and animal experiments have shown that cold wave is closely associated with the onset of stroke. When a population with stroke etiology or risk factors is under pre-stroke state, they will have stroke under the influence of various inducing factors.Cold wave is the external factor that causes the body to enter the pre-stroke state and there are many possible mechanisms. The drug intervention of stroke-prone hypertensive rats at 1 week before the cold wave can reduce the occurrence of stroke during cold wave, suggesting that it is of great significance to conduct preventive intervention to the pre-stroke population before the cold wave coming.

A comparable study were carried out by determination of trace elements on five marine-derived shell traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) (Ostreae Concha, Haliotidis Concha, Margaritifera Concha, Meretricis Concha, and Arcae Concha), which were recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010 version). Seven trace elements in 51 batches of this type of shell TCM were analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), combined with principal component analysis (PCA) methods. The content of element Se, which exhibited significant differences among different drugs, could be used as a key element to distinguish this type of drugs. Meanwhile, the contents of elements Co, Cu, Mo, and Ba in Haliotidis Concha, Co and As in Margaritifera Concha, Mo and As in Meretricis Concha, Mo, As, and Ba in Arcae Concha, and Zn in Meretricis Concha were relatively stable. In the PCA plot, Arcae Concha and Meretricis Concha could be efficiently distinguished from Ostreae Concha together with Haliotidis Concha, and Margaritifera Concha. The results also showed a correlation with their medicinal function. In conclusion, trace elements in marine-derived shell TCM could not be neglected for their quality control.

8.The inhibition of tamoxifen on sodium channel in SHG-44 glioma cell-line.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2009;25(2):207-210
AIMTo explore the effect of tamoxifen on voltage-dependent sodium channels in SHG-44 glioma cell line.
METHODSWhole-cell patch clamp technique was used to record the Na currents in SHG-44 cell line and to investigate the effect of tamoxifen of different concentration on this channel currents.
RESULTSThis channel activated and inactivated quickly. Tamoxifen could significantly decrease the amplitude of Na currents of SHG-44 cell line. This block effect was dose dependent and voltage dependent. When the holding potential was 0 mV, 8 micromol/L tamoxifen could block this currents 69%. The half inhibition concentration (IC50) was 5.54 micromol/L.
CONCLUSIONTamoxifen could significantly block the voltage dependent sodium channel in malignant glioma cell line SHG-44. It might be one of the mechanisms that tamoxifen inhibit glioma proliferation. clamp technique was used to record the Na currents in SHG-44 cell line and to investigate the effect of tamoxifen of different concentration on this channel currents.

To study the potential effect of Dioscorea nipponica(DN) in intervening peripheral system of rats based on metabolomic analysis. The identification of the potential intervention targets of DN in peripheral system may facilitate its safe application and therapeutic potential exploitation. Totally 20 male SD rats were randomly divided into the blank group and the DN-treated groups, with 10 rates in each group. The DN-treated group was orally administrated with DN extracts once a day for 5 days, with the dose of 80 mg x kg(-1) (equivalent to 15 g crude drug in human), and the blank group was given equal volume of saline once a day for 5 days. Heart, liver, spleen, lung, and kidney tissues and serum samples were collected from each rat 24 h later after the last administration. The ultra-performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry based metabolomics was used to investigate the effect of DN in intervening peripheral system of rats. After the treatment with DN, 5 modulated metabolites in heart tissue, 6 in liver tissue, 5 in spleen tissue, 3 in lung tissue, 5 in kidney tissue and 6 in serum sample were identified and considered as the potential intervention targets of DN. Effect of DN in regulating some endogenous metabolites was beneficial for protecting peripheral system, while that in other endogenous metabolites produced potential toxicity to peripheral system. The metabolomic analysis revealed the coexistence of protective and toxic effects of DN on peripheral system, which may be a practical guidance for its safe application and beneficial to the expansion of its application scope.

Epmedii Folium is a commonly used traditional Chinese drug, and is beneficial for the "liver" and "kidney" s function in Chinese medicine. Recently, the origin of this drug is more complex. Most of the identification studies are emphasized on the species certified by the pharmacopoeia and other related species from the same genus of Epimedium, but few was emphasized on the counterfeit. In this paper, one counterfeit of Epmedii Folium, identified as the dried leaf of Quercus variabilis (Fam. Fagaceae), has been reported based on field investigation, comparing specimen of Epmedii Folium and Q. variabilis, using the macroscopic, microscopic and TmC methods. It is resulted that they could be identified clearly not only by the macroscopic features, such as the vein character and the tooth apex, but also by the microscopic features, such as the vascular bundles of the midrib, the non-glandular hair, the anticlinal wall of the epidermis cell and the calcium oxalate crystal. Furthermore their TLC chromatograms showed also difference. This study will give reference for the identification of Epmedii Folium and the related supervision and inspection work.
