Growing evidence indicates that hyperhomocysteinemia is not only a high risk factor for cerebrovascular diseases,but also closely correlated with neurodegenerative diseases and mental diseases,such as Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,dementia,cognitive impair- ment,depression and schizophrenia,The mechanisms of homocysteine neurotoxicity remains unclear,and it may include activating extracellular signal-regulated kinases,excessively activating glutamate receptors,participating in oxidative stress response,affecting methylation process and damaging DNA.
2.Effect on proliferation and apoptosis in RPMI-8226 human myeloma cells and regulation on steroid receptor coactivator-3 by deguelin

Objective To investigate the effects of deguelin on the proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induction in RPMI-8226 cells in vitro,as well as the regulation of steroid receptor coactivator-3(SRC-3)to explore the relationship between them.Methods The effect of deguelin on the growth of RPMI-8226 cells was studied by MTT assay.Apoptosis was detected through Hoechst 33258 staining and Annexin-V FITC/PI double-labeled cytometry.RT-PCR Technology was applied to assessment of the mRNA expression of SRC-3,whereas,SRC-3 protein expression and localization were determined by using immunohistochemistry method.Results Deguelin presented striking proliferation inhibition potency on RPMI-8226 cells in vitro and apoptosis induction activity in a time-and dose-dependent manner.The IC50 value for 24 h was(54.55?0.40)nmol/L,(17.04?0.73)% RPMI-8226 cells went apoptotic when treated with 25 nmol/L deguelin for 24 h,with the dose of deguelin increasing to 100 nmol/L,(63.57?1.36)% cells were apoptotic.Over-expression of SRC-3 was found in RPMI-8226 cells,whereas the mRNA and protein expression levels of SRC-3 were significantly downregulated in RPMI-8226 cells induced by deguelin in a dose-dependent manner.The disposition of SRC-3 was situated mainly at the nuclear,occasionally in the cytoplasm.Conclusion Deguelin exhibited potent proliferation inhibition to the human myeloma cell line RPMI-8226 cells,furthermore,deguelin might induce RPMI-8226 cells apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner,which might correspond to the regulation of the expression of SRC-3.
3.Evaluation of the change of anterior chamber parameters before and after laser peripheral iridectomy in primary angle -closure suspetive with Pentacam anterior segment analysis system

?AlM:To investigate the sensitive parameters of the anterior chamber changes with Pentacam anterior segment analysis system before and after laser peripheral iridectomy (LPl) in primary angle-closure suspetive (PACS).
? METHODS: Sixty eyes of 33 PACS patients were enrolled in this study. Pentacam examination was performed before and 1d after LPl to measure the central anterior chamber depth ( CACD ) , the peripheral anterior chamber depth ( PACD ) , the anterior chamber volume ( ACV) and the peripheral anterior chamber angle ( ACA) . Statistical analysis used paired t test.
?RESULTS: There was no statistical significance on the changes of ACD. PACD and ACV increased significantly between before and 1d after LPl. ACA was widened from (22. 26o±5. 18o) to (26. 42o±5. 20o), which were increased significantly between before and 1d after LPl.
?CONCLUSlON: LPl can deepen the PACD and increase the ACV in PACS. PACD and ACV are the sensitive parameters of the anterior chamber changes with Pentacam anterior segment analysis system.
4.Recent advancement about oncomodulin in regeneration of nerve system and optical nerve

Oncomodulin(OM) is a kind of Ca-bind protein(CABP),and it belongs to the tropon in C super family.It different from other CABP because of its special domain(CD domain) which could bind with Ca2+.Multiple functions of OM have been determined during the study of its construction and distribution.It plays very important role in adjusting cell electric activity,regulating cell signal conduction passageway and cell cycle.In recent years,the study on OM promoting axon regeneration is emerging,especially in the regeneration of optical nerve.It offers a basis for solving the regeneration of spinal cord and cranial nerve.The concept,construction and distribution,action mechanism and its relationship with regeneration of optical nerve were reviewed in this article.
5.Intracoronary stenting for senile patients with acute myocardial infarction

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy of intracoronary stenting for senile patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods42 senile patients with AMI underwent intracoronary stenting were analysed. Before and after stenting, the changes of the patients' blood pressures, heart rates and cardiac functions tested by ultrasonography were observed.Results45 intracoronary stents were implanted in 42 patients, one patient falled during hospitalization. The blood pressure was increased significantly, the heart rate decreased and the candiac function improved after stenting.ConclusionIntracoronary stenting is a very effective and safe therapy for the senile patients with AMI.
6.Preparation of canine multivalence serum and its application

Objective:To prepare the canine multivalence serum for emergent prevation and theatmentor canines infection disease.Methods:Selecting 20 healthy Kunming dog,which is more than one years old.The canines were immuned by regulary with Canine distemper virus(CDV),Canine parvovirus virus(CPV),Infectious canine hepatitis virus(ICHV),Canine coronavirus(CCV),Canine parainflu-enza virus(CPIV).The blood were draw in freedom germ from neck's artery at canines and then blood was centrifugate for isolating serum.To check antibody's tite, micro serum neutrolization(SN) and hemagglutination inhibition(HI) were used.Results:Canine multivalence serum is successfully preparation and good curative effects in clinic.Conclusion:Canine multivalence serum may be of great value in economics and society and contribute to curative disease.
7.Cardiac arrest: a case-based review

BACKGROUND: Coffee is commonly consumed among young people in China. However, consumers are rarely aware of physicaly adverse effects as a result of excessive consumption of caffeine. DATA SOURCES: A literature search using multiple databases was performed for articles published with concentration on meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and randomized controlled trials. RESULTS: Excess coffee consumption is also a risk of primary cardiac arrest especially in young people. Treatment modalities include activated charcoals, beta-blockers, vasopressin and hemodialysis when necessary. CONCLUSION: Coffee consumers should be advised not to routinely take more than moderate coffee.

Diffusion tensor imaging is a non-invasive MRI technique which can identify changes of cerebral microstructure that CT and MRI is difficult to find, especially in the change of nerve fibers direction, which can be used for the researches of evaluation, recovery mechanism and prognosis of neurology. It has been applied in rehabilitation of motor, language and recognition of post-stroke patients.
9.THE EFFECT OF MACROPHAGE-CONDITIONED MEDIUM ON THE GROWTH OF PRIMARY MICE MYOBLASTS

Objective To investigate the effect of macrophage-conditioned medium on the growth of mouse myoblasts. Methods After a 3-day intraperitoneal injection with a mixture of muscle homogenate and starch,macrophages were obtained from mouse peritoneal cavity and cultured for 48 hours in serum-free DMEM/F12.Then the cultured medium was harvested.Myoblasts were obtained from newborn mice skeletal muscle and grown in DMEM/F12 supplied with 10% FBS for 36-48 hours,and then exposed to 0.5% FBS medium with or without macrophage-conditioned medium.Cells were harvested at 72 hours later,their growth was observed with Wright staining,LDH cytochemistry and immunocytochemistry. Results Macrophage-conditioned medium can maintain the normal morphology and the activity of myoblasts grown in low concentration of serum and promote their proliferation.There was a significant difference between average absorbance and integral absorbance of LDH positive cells of the two groups(P
10.Cloning and eukaryotic expression of human CD38

Objective:To clone and express the full length cDNA of human CD38. Methods:The full length cDNA of the human CD38 antigen was amplified from total RNA of Daudi cell by RT-PCR, and it was inserted into pGEM-T. The validity on the sequences was confirmed by automatic DNA sequencing. Inserting the valid CD38 gene into pcDNA3.1(+) plasmid to obtain recombinant mammalian expression vector pcDNA3.1(+)/CD38Z; Using lipofectin gene transfer technique system, recombinant expression vector containing CD38 gene was transfected into COS7 cells. The expression of CD38 molecules on the surface of COS7 cells was detected by FACS and immunohistochemical technique. Results:DNA sequencing showed that the cloned full length cDNA sequence was identical with reported. The result of FACS and immunohistochemical technique indicated that CD38 molecules were expressed on the surface of COS7 cells. Conclusion:The full length cDNA of human CD38 is obtained, recombinant mammalian expression vector pcDNA3.1(+)/CD38Z is successfully constructed, and the CD38 molecules is expressed on the surface of COS7 cells,this may facilitate studies on the biochemistry and function of CD38 antigen.
