Objective To study the method and effect of subcutaneous pedicle flap based on the orbicularis oculi muscle in the treatment of xanthelasma.Methods According to the situation of xanthelasma and the soft tissues of upper eyelid,two new double-folds eyelid was designed.The soft tissues (including the skin and muscle) between two lines were intended to form a subcutaneous pedicle flap based on the orbicularis oculi muscle.Then,after the excision of xanthelasma from the surface of orbicularis oculi muscle,the flap was transferred to the defected site.Finally,a new double-folds eyelid was made.Results 13 cases with 25 sides were treated with a follow-up period of 3-6 months.All flaps were survived with good functions and the appearance of upper eyelids were satisfactory.Conclusions Subcutaneous pedicle flap based on the orbicularis oculi muscle is a reliable option for the treatment of xanthelasma.It has the advantages of abundant blood supply,convenience and effective.

AIM: To observe and study the influence of cardiac sympathetic nerve on QT dispersion (QTd) and the circadian variations of QTd in experimental rabbits. METHODS: The rabbits were divided into experimental group (without cardiac sympathetic control by operation) and control group (with retained cardiac sympathetic control by operation, sham operation). Objective To investigate the development of vertebral artery in the 2010 enrolled pilot cadets, and provide a foundation for introducing vertebral artery ultrasound examination into inclusion criteria. Methods The ultrasound findings of the vertebral artery in 722 pilot cadets, including its origin, shape, diameter and hemodynamic patterns, were retrospectively reviewed by two-dimensional and color Doppler ultrasound. The proportion of its congenital dysplasia was calculated and summarized. Results Among the 722 pilot cadets, both the inner diameter of the initial segment (D1) and the intervertebral segment (D2) of left vertebral artery were wider than the right one (3.624±0.017mm vs 3.489±0.018mm, 3.623±0.018mm vs 3.438±0.019 mm, P<0.05). The peak systolic velocity of the intervertebral segment in left vertebral artery (Vmax) was found to be faster than the right (53.547±0.412cm/s vs 48.463±0.405cm/s, P<0.05). The diameter of vertebral artery ranged from 2.5mm to 3mm accounted for 17.5% and that less than 2.5mm accounted for only 6.9%. Narrow caliber of the artery was more common in the right vertebral artery (16% vs 8.3%, P<0.05). In 24 persons only the course of arteries on both sides appeared abnormal, accounting for 3.3%, including 19 cases with abnormal course only and 5 cases with both abnormal origin and course. There was no significant difference between left and right in the 19 cases with shape abnormality only (P>0.05). Among 5 persons showed both abnormal origin and shape, there were 2 cases in whom there was also small caliber. Conclusions Multiple congenital dysplasia of vertebral artery was found in pilot cadets. The ultrasonography examination of vertebral artery should be included in the selection criteria for pilot cadet enrollment as early as possible.

Objective To measure the renal tissue texture or flexibility with virtual touch quantization (VTQ) and to tentatively examine its clinical application in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD).Methods A total of 750 patients (1500 kidneys) were performed with VTQ,including 400 cases in the control group,and 350 cases in the CKD group.A conventional ultrasound examination (two-dimensional,color Doppler) were first taken,and then the shear wave velocity (Vs) was measured which reflected the textural elastic.Results In both groups the Vs was the highest in renal cortex with significant difference (P<0.05); renal cortical region Vs in CKD group was lower than those in control group (P<0.05),while Vs of renal medulla and renal sinus had no significant difference in the two groups.The severity of renal dysfunction was increased along with a Vs decrease of renal cortex.Conclusion VTQ is helpful to assess renal function of patients with CKD.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of arthroscopically assisted percutaneous reduction and internal fixation with eannulated screws.Methods The fracture was reduced by closed manipulation or percutaneous leverage force by using the Kirschner wire.Then the patella was temporarily fixed by using a large size towel clamp or Kirschner wires.Under the guidance of knee arthroscopy,a micro-incision was made at the size of cannulated screw placement,the pilot holes were drilled at a proper depth,and the thread was configured.Two titanium screws were inserted parallelly.Results Following-up chekups for 4～24 months in 18 cases showed a satisfactory recovery of knee functions.According to the Bostman' standard,excellent effects were obtained in 16 cases and good effects in 2 cases.Conclusion Treatment of patellar fractures by percutaneous cannulated screw fixation under arrhroscope of- fered advantages of minimal invasion,accurate reduction,reliable fixation,and excellent recovery of joint functions.

To study the effect of Fuzheng Huayu recipe (FZHY) on five types of isozymes of cytochrome P450 (CYP450) of normal and liver fibrosis rats by using the cocktail probe method. Dimethylnitrosamine ( DMN) was injected to induce the liver fibrosis model. After the tail vein injection with Cocktail probe solutions prepared with five CYP450s probe substrates (phenacetin-CYP1A2, omeprazole-CYP2C9, tolbutamide-CYP2C19, dextromethorphan-CYP2D6, midazolam-CYP3A4), the plasma concentrations of the five probe substrates were determined by LC-MS/MS, and the pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by PK solutions 2. After the oral administration with FZHY, normal rats given phenacetin, omeprazole, tolbutamide and dextromethorphan showed increase in AUC(0-t) and decrease in CL to varying degrees, indicating that FZHY obviously inhibited the activities of CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19 and CYP2D6 in normal rats, but with no obvious effect on the activity of CYP3A4. After the oral administration with FZHY, liver fibrosis rats treated with CYP2C9 showed the significant increase in AUC(0-t) and significant decrease in Vd, hut with no obvious changes in the pharmacokinetic parameters of other four types of prove substances, suggesting that FZHY could significantly inhibit the activity of CYP2C9 in rats but had no effect on the activities of CYP1A2, CYP2C19, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4. The changes in the activity of CYP450 isozymes in liver fibrosis rats may be the reason for FZHY's different effects on CYP450 isozymes in normal and liver fibrosis rats.

Objective To investigate the effect of recombinant chlamydiaphage phiCPG1 capsid protein Vp1 on Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) after Vp1 was co-cultured with Ct (reference strains and clinical strains).Methods The recombinant chlamydiaphage phiCPG1 capsid protein Vp1 was expressed and purified.Equal amount of Ct standard strains (E/UW-5/Cx and D/UW-3/Cx) or clinical strains,which had been incubated with Vp1 protein at the concentration of 53 μg/ml for 3 h at room temperature,were inoculated into McCoy.After cell culture,idione stain and transmission electron microscope were used to observe the effect of Vp1 on the Ct.The effect of Vp1 protein on the cell line McCoy was determined by MTT assay,the responses of Escherichia coli BL21 and DH5α toward Vp1 protein were determined using broth microdilution assays.Results Vp1 had obviously inhibitive effect on Ct,the inhibition ratios were about 40％-70％in clinical strains,72％ in reference strain D and 78％ in E,respectively.Abnormally enlarged RBs were observed after Vp1-treatment and Vp1 could arrest chlamydial developmental cycle using electron microscope.There was no effect of Vp1 on McCoy cells or bacteria BL21 or DH5α.Conclusion The recombinant Vp1 from phiCPG1 has obviously inhibitive effect on the growth of Ct,it will be helpful for the treatment of Ct infection in clinic.
