Objective To evaluate the effect of 36-neuro-motorial examination on early diagnosis of children with cerebral palsy within 1 year-old.Methods36-neuro-motorial examination was analysed in 210 children with cerebral palsy from 2 to 12 months. Results4-29 items reflecting the abnormity of reflex, muscle tone, posture and motion were observeed in patients with cerebral palsy. If these abnormities were laid according as frequency among 2-6 months, reflex abnormities are knee tendon reflex, palmar grasp reflex,Babinski sign, asymmetrical tonic neck reflex, ankle clonus, sitting equilibrium reflex, stepping reflex, crossed extension reflex, tonic labyrinthine reflex, trunk incurvation reflex,Moro reflex; posture abnormities are head to back≥15°,from supine to the side position, axillar suspension reflex, posterior neck fovea≥1cm in the supine position, landau reflex,Vojta reflex, traction reflex, tonic torticollis, abnormal spontaneous posture;muscle tone abnormities are foot dorsiflexion angle, scarf sign, tonic palmar grasp,to up the foot heel≥30° in the stand position, thumb decussation to the palm, poples angle, adductor angle,heel-ear angle; others are head cycle≤-2s, squint, active movement attenuation or abnormity, auditory abnormity, visual abnormity, ophthalmodonesis, epilepsy. Conclusions 36-neuro-motorial examination is effective for early diagnosis of cerebral palsy within 1 year.

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of high-density micropulse photocoagulation (HD-SDM) combined with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab for diabetic macular edema (DME).Methods Thirty-one patients (31 eyes) with DME were randomly divided into two groups.Group A (15 eyes) received HD-SDM combined with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab.Group B (16 eyes) only received intravitreal injection of ranibizumab. The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT) of the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed, and the annual injection times of the two groups were compared. Results The average annual injection times was 3.67 ± 1.11 in group A,and 9.12 ±2.63 in group B.The difference was significant between the two groups (t =2.05,P < 0.05).There were significant differences in CMT before and after treatment in both groups (all P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in CMT between the two groups(t =1.19,P > 0.05).There were significant differences in BCVA before and after treatment in both groups (all P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference before and after treatment between the two groups(all P > 0.05).Conclusion Both HD-SDM combined with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab and single intravitreal injection of ranlbizumab are effective for DME,but the combining treatment can remarkably decrease the annual injection times and had a good compliance of patients,is a good choice for DME patients.

Objective To evaluate the relationship of serum levels of interleukin (IL)-36α,IL-36β and IL-36γas well as their receptor antagonist IL-36Ra with disease severity in patients with psoriasis. Methods Venous blood samples were collected from 45 patients with generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP),34 patients with psoriasis vulgaris (PV),and 37 healthy human controls.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to determine the serum levels of IL-36α,IL-36β,IL-36γ and IL-36Ra.Nonparametric Mann-Whitney test was conducted to compare the levels of IL-36 and IL-36Ra among these groups, and Spearman's rank correlation analysis to assess the relationship between the serum levels of IL-36 and IL-36Ra and disease severity. Results No statistical difference was observed in the serum levels of IL-36 or IL-36Ra among the patients with GPP,patients with PV,and healthy human controls. The serum levels of IL-36β and IL-36γ (given as the median ± interquartile range) were significantly higher in 27 patients with GPP during episodes of pustules ((12.101 ± 11.315) ng/L and (34.541 ± 15.580) ng/L respectively) and in 7 patients with severe GPP ((11.218 ± 9.318) ng/L and (38.536 ± 17.332) ng/L respectively) than in the healthy human controls ((5.355 ± 9.020) ng/L and (23.052 ± 22.410) ng/L respectively,P < 0.05 or 0.01).The serum level of IL-36γwas positively correlated with that of IL-36β in patients with GPP,patients with PV,and the healthy human controls (r =0.85,0.86,0.91,respectively,all P < 0.01),and both IL-36β and IL-36γserum levels were lowly and positively correlated with the severity of GPP (r =0.33,0.41,respectively,both P < 0.05).A positive correlation was also observed between the serum level of IL-36β and psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) scores in patients with PV (r =0.54,P < 0.01).Conclusions The serum levels of IL-363 and IL-36γ are lowly and positively correlated with disease severity in patients with GPP,suggesting that IL-36β and IL-36γplay an important role in the pathogenesis of GPP.

AIM: To investigate the influences of bypass-activated complement and TNF-? on intercellular adhesion molecule 1(ICAM-1) expression in endothelial cells, and polymorphonuclear neutrophil-endothelial cell (PMN-EC) adhesion. METHODS: In vitro, zymosan-activated human serum(ZAHS) and/or TNF-? directly stimulated the HUVECS monolayers. PMN-EC adhesion percentage was measured, and modified whole-cell ELISA was used for measurement of ICAM-1. RESULTS: ZAHS alone resulted in no significant change in the degree of PMN adhesion and the level of ICAM-1. Activation of HUVECS with TNF-? followed by ZAHS stimulation resulted in greater increase in PMN-EC adhesion and ICAM-1 expression, as compared with the activation with TNF-? alone. CONCLUSION: Bypass-activated complement can promote ICAM-1 expression and neutrophil -endothelium adhesion induced by TNF-?, and so it is effective for promoting inflammation.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of BMP 2 on wound healing of facial nerve. Methods: Facial nerve was crushed in 6 rabbits.1 ng of BMP 2 in 20 ?l of saline was injected around the injured nerve on one side, 20 ?l of saline was injected on the other side as the control. Each two animals were sacrificed 1d,2 and 4 weeks after injury. The nerve samples were studied by histological observation, electron microscopic observation and image pattern analysis. Results:Better healing was observed in BMP 2 treated nerves in 2 and 4 weeks.4 weeks after injury, the axon number on each 100 ?m2 in BMP 2 treated nerves and control ones was 0.946?0.572 and 0.614?0.430(P

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by enterbaeterial repetitive intergenic consensus-polymerase chain reaction(ERIC-PCR)DNA fingerprint. Methods Mycobacterium tuberculosis positive sputum samples between September 2003 to May 2006 were collected and cultured.Chromosomal DNA were extracted and ERIC-PCR DNA fingerprinting was analyzed by software, such as RAPD PHYLIP and Treeview. Results A total of 42 different fingerprints were detected.Phylogenetic analysis showed that they could be classified into three clusters, the clustering rate was 72.6%.The characteristics of ERIC-PCR fingerprint patterns were related to age, drug resistance, and type of resistance. Conclusions ERIC-PCR DNA fingerprinting technique used in this study is good for epidemiological studies with its strong discrimination, simplicity and rapidness.A high level of recent transmission is found in our city.
