By a orthogonal experiment, the influence of different ratio of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on imperatorin, isoimperatorin and psoralen contents and yield of Glehnia littoralis were studied. The results showed that root dry weight and the yield of G. littoralis increased when reasonably applied phosphorus fertilizer combined with potassium fertilizer within a certain range. And the influence of phosphorus fertilizer was greater than that of potassium fertilizer. The optimal value of root dry weight and yield achieved at both P2O5 360 kg x hm(-2), K2O 270 kg x hm(-2) and P2O5 360 kg x hm(-2), K2O 180 kg x hm(-2). The effects of different phosphorus and potassium treatments on the content of imperatorin, isoimperatorin and psoralen in G. littoralis were determined, which shows that the content increased with the moderate increase of phosphorus and potassium. And the effects of phosphorus fertilizer were more significantly. The isoimperatorin content achieved the largest value at P2O5 360 kg x hm(-2), K2O 270 kg x hm(-2), also a larger content of imperatorin and psoralen. The imperatorin content is the largest when applied P2O5 360 kg x hm(-2), K2O 180 kg x hm(-2), and the isoimperatorin content was higher as well. So that the treatment of P2O5 360 kg x hm(-2), K2O 180 kg x hm(-2) are suitable for promote to the agricultural production, which could improve the quality and yield of G. littoralis.

Nerve growth factor(NGF) was firstly discovered as a member of neurotrophin family, and the research and development of NGF has been lasting more than fifty years since its discovery. To this end,a two-step and high –yield chromatographic method which consists of cation ion-exchange chromatography and reversed-phase chromatography was reported to isolate recombinant human beta nerve growth factor(? –NGF) secreted by constructed Chinese hamster ovary cells(CHO/dhfr-) from the culture media.Through the process of purification, the purity of protein which was determined by SDS-PAGE and RP-HPLC has reached to 95%,and the recovery of ? –NGF routed by RP-HPLC could be 70%.Furthermore,the biological activity of final purified protein evaluated by PC12 cells and dorsal root ganglia(DRG) exhibited the same performance as the standard protein of ? –NGF bought from Sigma, which indicated that there is no loss of biological activity through the isolation process. The conclusion suggested that an economical isolation method of recombinant human ? –NGF could be practiced on the industrial process of purification.

Chemotherapy-induced neuropathy is a serious clinical problem for patients receiving cancer treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential efficacy of pregabalin in chemotherapy-induced neuropathy in rats. A total of 35 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: group 1, naive control; group 2, treated with pregabalin (30 mg/kg p.o., for 8 days); group 3, docetaxel was given by single intravenous infusion at 10 mg/kg; groups 4 and 5, pregabalin at 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg respectively was orally administered for 8 days after the docetaxel treatment. On day 8, behavioral test was performed, and substance P and CGRP release in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and sciatic nerve were analyzed by electron microscope. Our results showed that docetaxel induced mechanical allodynia, mechanical hyperalgesia, heat hypoalgesia, cold allodynia, and sciatic nerve impairment and substance P and CGRP release in DRG. However, oral administration of pregabalin (10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg) for 8 consecutive days significantly attenuated docetaxel-induced neuropathy by ameliorating heat hypoalgesia, cold allodynia, impairment of sciatic nerve and reducing the release of substance P and CGRP. The findings in the present study reveal that pregabalin may be a potential treatment agent against chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.

OBJECTIVETo study the role of the HBV-infected mothers' PBMC in intrauterine transmission of HBV to their fetuses.
METHODSThirty pregnant women with serum HBV DNA negative and PBMC HBV DNA positive and their newborns were used as the study group. Ten pregnant women with serum HBV negative and their infants served as the control group. HBV DNA in serum and in PBMC was detected using nested polymerase chain reaction (n-PCR). The mothers' PBMC in newborns' peripheral blood was examined using heminested-PCR.
RESULTSFour newborns were serum HBV DNA positive and 8 newborns were HBV DNA positive in PBMC in the study group. Among them, 2 newborns were HBV DNA positive in both serum and PBMC, 6 cases were positive in PBMC only, and 2 cases were positive in serum only. Five mothers had the GSTM1 gene; and it was not detected in 3 newborns. Among the 8 newborns with HBV DNA positive in PBMC, 3 did not have the GSTM1 gene, at the same time their mothers possessed the GSTM1 gene. Mothers' PBMC were detected in all of these three newborns' peripheral blood. HBV DNA in serum and in PBMC of the control group infants were all negative.
CONCLUSIONHBV-infected PBMC of the mother may serve as a vector in HBV intrauterine infection.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of microRNA-155 and microRNA-146a in the CD19(+) B cells of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL), and to analyze its clinical significance.
METHODSPeripheral blood (PB) (78 cases) and bone marrow (BM) samples (9 cases) from 53 CLL patients, 13 MCL patients, 19 SMZL patients, and 12 healthy donors were collected. Mononuclear cells were isolated and B cells were purified with a CD19(+) magnetic-bead system. Total RNA was extracted from purified CD19(+) cells and microRNAs expression were measured using the TaqMan microRNA quantitative PCR. The results combined with the clinic data of patients were analysed.
RESULTS(1) The expression of microRNA-155 in CLL (4.49 ± 0.83) was significantly higher than in MCL (3.83 ± 0.45) and SMZL (3.80 ± 0.61) (P < 0.05); (2) The level of microRNA-146a in SMZL (3.81 ± 0.59) was significantly higher than in CLL (2.58 ± 0.90) and MCL (2.27 ± 0.88) (P < 0.01); (3) The level of microRNA-155 was significantly higher in IgVH unmutated patients than in mutated patients in CLL (P = 0.012); (4) The microRNAs expression had no statistical difference between two prognostic groups in CLL.
CONCLUSION(1) The expression of microRNA-155 and microRNA-146a is different in malignant lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD); (2) Deregulation of the microRNAs expression might play a critical role in the pathogenesis and prognosis in the LPD.
