Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of treadmill exercise test for coronary heart disease. Methods The results of coronary angiography, exercise treadmill test, and the main risk factors of 447 patients suspected of coronary heart disease were analyzed. Results Treadmill exercise test for coronary artery stenosis resulted in 90 3% sensitivity, 19 6% specificity, 65 1% positive predictive value, and 55 0% negative predictive value. Compared with patients with single vessel disease, lower, earlier, and longer lasting ST segment depression and less exercise burden for the maximum heart rate were found in those with multiple vessel disease. A total of 72 5% patients with coronary artery lesion (including coronary stenosis and coronary tunica intima lesion) had more than 2 risk factors. Conclusion Treadmill exercise test is a good non invasive method for screening of coronary heart disease: (1) negative result of treadmill exercise test can be used to exclude coronary heart disease, but positive result of treadmill exercise test plus more than 2 risk factors can predict the likelihood of coronary heart disease; (2) the treadmill exercise test can also reflect the degree and the range of coronary artery lesion.

Objective To investigate the regularity and clinical significance of cortisol(Cor),adrenocorticotrophic hormone(ACTH),atrial natriuetic peptide(ANP) and interleukin-6(IL-6) changes before and after operation stress.Methods The ACTH,Cor,ANP and IL-6 levels in 18 children with abdominal neoplasms(12 male and 6 female,8 cases with sacrococcygeal teratoma,5 cases with hepatoblastoma,and 5 cases with nephroblastoma) were measured before and after operation(24 hours before operation;4,24,48,and 72 hours after operation).Eighteen children were divided into the study group and the control group.The children in the former group were accompanied with stress ulcer,intestinal obstruction and infection shock or even death after operations,while the children in the later group recovered without any complication.The ACTH,Cor,ANP in serum were measured by radioactive immune analysis(RIA) assay,and serum IL-6 level were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results In 2 groups,serum levels of ACTH,Cor,ANP,IL-6 increased significantly 4 h after operation.The changes in ACTH and ANP were similar in 2 groups.Cor in the control group reached its peak 24 h after operation,and then decreased gradually to the pre-operation levels 72 h after operation;IL-6 reached its peak 4 h after operation,and then decreased slowly.It was still at a high level in 48 h after operation,and then decreased to pre-operation levels 72 h after operation.But serum Cor,IL-6 in the study group slightly increased 24 h after operation,and were apparently higher than those in the control group(Pa

Based on vector auto-regression (VAR) model, this paper takes advantage of Granger causality test, variance decomposition and impulse response analysis techniques to carry out a comprehensive study of the factors influencing the price of Chinese herbal, including herbal cultivation costs, acreage, natural disasters, the residents' needs and inflation. The study found that there is Granger causality relationship between inflation and herbal prices, cultivation costs and herbal prices. And in the total variance analysis of Chinese herbal and medicine price index, the largest contribution to it is from its own fluctuations, followed by the cultivation costs and inflation.

Objective To evaluate miniature probe endoscopic ultrasonography (mEUS) in diagnosis of submucosal tumor (SMT) of upper digestive tract.Methods We observed 91 patients with SMT,and mEUS was performed to assess the lesions arised from the specific layer of the wall.Results Among all cases,leiomyoma was the most common,57 cases,found in esophagus more than in stomach;14 of cysts,9 of vascular lesions,5 of lipoma,and 2 cases of malignant stromal tumors.Malignant lesions and part of benign lesions were confirmed by histological examination.Conclusion mEUS is a simple,safe and effective method for SMT,and it can be clue to the location and nature of SMT.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of dorsal interosseous artery island flap to cover soft tissue defects of the hand.Methods Ten cases (8 males and 2 females) treated between 2009 and 2012 were included.The age was from 15 to 74 years.There were 4 patients associated with mechanical injury,3 electric injury,2 chronic ulcer and 1 hot crush injury.Size of the defect ranged from 3.0 cm × 2.5 cm to 12.0 cm × 7.0 cm,and the size of the flap ranged from 4.0 cm× 3.0 cm to 13.0 cm × 8.0 cm.The portable Doppler ultrasound was employed to locate the branches from the forearm dorsal interosseous artery.The dorsal interosseous retrograde artery distally based was used to repair hand softtissue defects.Results All the flaps survived except for some necrosis in one case which healed after dressing change.Eight patients were followed up for 3 months to 1 year and two patients were lost to follow-up.Flap had soft texture and similar color and sensation as the adjacent skin.No apparent hypertrophic scarfing on the donor site was observed.Flap was slighdy swollen in one case.Conclusion Dorsal interosseous artery retrograde island flap is safe and effective to repair hand soft tissue defects.

Oxytocin ( OT ) is a cyclic neuropeptide containing nine amino acids residues, in addition to the traditional roles of uterine contraction and lactation, it also plays important roles in the central nervous system and other peripheral organs, such as improving schizophrenia, autism - related psychiatric and psy-chological symptoms. Oxytocin exhibits its physiological func-tions by binding to its receptor (oxytocin receptor,OTR). Cur-
rently researchers are manipulating OT system by developing new OTR ligand ( agonists and antagonists ) , hoping to prevent and treat OTR related diseases. This paper reviews the latest devel-opment of OTR agonists, antagonists and its physiological roles in central nerve system and peripheral organs.

Objective To establish the reference intervals of serum iron and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) among 60+ years people in Beijing.Methods Collected Beijing TongRen Hospital,Capital Medical University from 60 to 79 year-old male 167 cases,173 cases of female serum samples of healthy subjects using Beckman's DXC-800 serum iron,total iron binding capacity,and comparative analysis of two kinds of indicators.Results The normal reference range of serum iron in Beijing (60 to 79 years) was 7.9～23.1 μmol/L.The values were 17.45±5.67 μmol/L in male,and 17.52±6.2 μmol/L in female (t=1.32,P ＞0.05).The normal reference range of total iron binding capacity was 37.8～ 62.2 μmol/L.The values were 50.78±9.17 μmol/L in male,and 52.17±9.75 μmol/L in female (t=1.75,P＞0.05).Conclusion There was no significant difference between serum iron and total iron binding capacity in elderly men and women.The investigation gave the reference intervals of serum iron and total iron binding capacity in Beijing Han elderly (60 to 79 years),which can provide useful reference to clinical.

Group A,the differences among the three groups were statistically significant(P0.05). TCR,CCR,DAP,OD,BRC in Groups B and C showed trends of increasing,the differences in terms of the contents of BMP-RⅠamong the 3 phases were statistically significant(P0.05);the ER in Group B and C showed a trend of decreasing,thee difference between 4- and 8-week and 4- and 12-week were signifieantly dif- ferent(P0.05).Conclusion After application of glucocorticoid for a short term,pathological changes maintained and showed trends of inereasing in early stage.HBO can reverse these changes.The outcome of 3-course HBO therapy is better than that of 1-course therapy.

Objective To investigate the relationship of circulating zinc-α2-glycoprotein (ZAG) as well as adiponectin with adiposity and insulin resistance in humans.Methods Serum ZAG and adiponectin levels were determined by ELISA in 285 subjects with normal glucose tolerance (NGT),impaired glucose tolerance (IGT),and newly diagnosed cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).The relationships between circulating ZAG and insulin resistance or metabolic parameters were also explored.Results Circulating ZAG and adiponectin levels were all lower in T2 DM and IGT subjects than those in control subjects [ZAG:(37.14 ± 13.25 and 48.84 ± 18.74 vs 59.36 ± 16.20) mg/L,P＜0.05 or P＜0.01 ; adiponectin:(27.79 ± 11.23 and 33.00 ± 9.42 vs 41.81 ± 13.68) μg/L,P＜0.01].Circulating ZAG was correlated positively with high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and adiponectin (all P＜0.01),and inversely with body mass index,waist-hip ratio,FAT％,diastolic blood pressure,triglyceride,fasting blood glucose,fasting insulin,HbA1C,and homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance(HOMA-IR,P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).By multivariate analysis,ZAG levels were independently associated with body mass index,HOMA-IR,diastolic blood pressure,and adiponectin (P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).Conclusions ZAG levels,associated with fat,insulin sensitivity,and adiponectin expression,are likely to play an important role in insulin resistance and energy homeostasis in humans.
